I believe it is a weak argument to suggest that music is 'of the world' - if it is lively or contains movement or dance. You name me just ONE secular artist who is singing this sort of music. . I do know a lot of what is out there in the secular music world, and they do not sing like this.

@kud.... If you listen to Heritage Music from years ago you will realise that they were always with the times !! Many people did not like their music back then because they used guitars and synthesisers. Now people are saying 'their music back then was so spiritual'. In 40 years this will be the 'old music'.

Maybe something looks like a "profane, exhibitionist performance", but "the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7 [King James Version])

Our God is not partial, "no respecter of persons" (Acts 10:34 [KJV]), so I cannot imagine that He listens just Bach. :)

Shame on all you hypocrites condemning the praise in this selection! As it is so lyrically said in the song "I Can Only Imagine"...how will you praise God when you see Him face to face? Will you just sit there calmly and say "Oh yes, it is you." ? Or will you fall on your knees and cry "Holy Holy Holy!"? Reaction is individual and so is praise. Who are YOU to discern what God deems as holy and unholy? If you are perfect, then step forward and speak what the Holy One would speak.

there should be a clear and marked distinction between the Holy and the secular. the devil influences the secular music genrest, these must not be used by christians......the issue is not wether we should shout to the Lord or not but it is mainly to do with the use of secular genres of music for the worship of God....if you listen to the songs sang by Heritage in the early days and compare the singing nowadays you will hear the difference for yourself..let us not conform to the world.

Jst 4 the obvious go ahead and read the last Psalm (150) even without any other reference and u'll find stuff louder than the drums in question by far esp Verses 3 - 5. A few comments have been made regarding worship in heaven. Correct me if I am wrong - did not Isaiah experience a vision of God (Isaiah 6) where the foundations of the temple were shaking? Did not John have a vision of angels flying in heaven shouting 'holy'? Maybe someone should tell the angels to stop shouting as it is not reverent- maybe they should stop flying and walk slowly instead. Perhaps God should tone down His glory to stop the temple shaking.

Times have changed, and in order to bring Christ to a younger audiece through their music, they have to change their music as well. This is not "worldly," it is people who love the Lord singing for Him, by Him, and through Him. They have smiles on their faces and hands lifted high praising God.  That is all that matters. Just because you don't prefer upbeat music does not give you the right to criticize them or judge them. God is the only judge, not you or anyone else.

@kngmarj - i agree with you.... singing is an act of worship as much as praying the mind should not lose focus on God .. if we want to truly worship God lets look at what He prescribes for worship in His word...lets look at worship not as we want it to be but as God wants it to be. the worship in heaven is filled with reverence and this kind of music is not fit for praising the great God of the universe.. i love the heritage singers and am a big supporter but that dont mean they are perfect.

In the word of GOD all over the book of Psalms there are endless evidence of the worship of God in shouting, celebrating, dancing etc and so on! Dancing in the Lord is exactly what David did when the ark of the covenant came back to Israel Dancing is totally fine with JESUS just like sex is ok!!!! the difference is...you already know.The heritage singers are doing a good job with their talents!! I am not a SDA believer but love I love 'em!

There is no set way as to how we worship God...

Worship comes from the heart...

Rend your heart and not your garments... he looks for the heart... if this worship is from the heart then so be it... gives you no right to come and judge people lifting up God..

How much has man boxed God in... never try to box him into our religious ways.. God is freedom and liberation!

Not just to you but others.. open your spiritual eyes and look past the what you see in the natural..

@jsavieti - remember Jeremiah 17 vs 9, the issue is not about sincerity but its about worshiping God in the way that He prescribes.....Rom 12 vs 2 warns against conformity to the world, there is no need to borrow genres of secular music and en cooperate them in the worship of God.....the strength of a Christian's witnessing is in being peculiar (1Pet 2 vs 9) different from the world..... combining the Holy with the profane is like offering a strange fire b4 God (Lev 10)

I could not seat still myself… I would be in the front row, next to the guy that shows in minute 1:41... applause and sing just like that… My friends mock me cause I say that we are really alike, this guy an me, from this perspective. I have been to the concert in Bucharest and it was amazing!! Just as great as the one in Prague!

I remember when we taught our children to clap and play their little instruments when singinging, "With Jesus in the Family, Happy, Happy, Home". It was a joyous time for praising. Then as they grew older clapping was suddenly suppressed and the praising was toned down until there was no reaction. What happened? Please don't judge too harshly. If this song doesn't meet your standard, don't listen, don't watch. Their mix is wonderful, you have a choice.
