Blade power and Hammerfist power were the two ones I used the most, I would only use hammerfist if it got to that stage where you use blade power and couldn't destroy tanks fast because whenever you jump, a rocket hit you. Another thing - I'm not too sure if you're new, but punching those canisters in disguise form isn't a very good idea lol, go hammerfist and hold triangle (y for xbox360 I think) and you'll do it easily.

Claws=Hack And Slash Everything

Whip= Hi jack, long range weapon

Fist= Destruction of big armored objects

Blade= Sice an Dice everything

Sheild= Blocking, (when you feel like it anyways)

Armour Form= Beast Mode type shit lol.

P.S. you can equip all of these in Armour Form
