  • great tone dude!!! damn nice sound to it!!

it's full bodied, and i love how tight it sounds.

  • sry bro. Its just kinda.. boring. Sounds like feedback, sorta like the bow wasn't really needed. Might have been cooler if quicker or if it was layered into something else.

  • No problem, but may be you should say the same thing to Jimmy Page.

  • If that's an EPI than I have that exact same guitar. I am in the middle of trying to learn that very same solo but can't seem to get the bow to sound right as I slide down or up or even get any sound for that matter. Would you happen to have any tips?

  • the les paul jimmy uses when he plays this has a bowed bridge. that's why it so hard to get it to sound right on a regular guitar

  • Turkeyjerky214 has a very good point. It is nearly impossible to use a bow on a "flat, Les Paul" neck, and quite a bit easier on a "radiused, Strat" neck. Look at cellos, violins and the like; they all have VERY VERY radiused necks, so that you can strike a single string without dragging the bow across other strings.

I have a simple rule for bowing; play chords on Les Pauls and play solos (or chords) on a Strat. Or get mind-numbingly good at muting sets of strings on the Les Paul.

  • Is That a gibson your using? i have an epiphone Limited Edition SG with a trem and it sounds good

  • No, it is a very cheap guitar - SX or Shelter - I am not very sure about correct brand name - but it is very similar to the original Gibson Les Paul

  • i cant get my violin bow to screech on the guitar all it does is slide and make no sound what do i got to do plz tell me!!!!plz!

  • dude get some rasin, it stops the bow from slipping

  • rosin**** hah..

  • Yes, you do need rosin, or no sound will happen. When you bow, do it smoothly and evenly, and on the bass E, push down on the bow to get better vibration against the string. When you slap to play chords, don't overdo it and you will not break hairs for quite some time. My favorite effects are delay, medium overdrive, mids turned up all the way, and maybe some chorus or a phaser. I reccomend you get one! (I just got one yesterday, and haven't put it down yet!)

  • yes, you really need rosin

  • do you need resin on your bow? mines totally clean and wont produce any noise atall

  • really cool man nice job

  • does that like totally destroy the violin bow? cuz im worried if i try it it will tear the thing up

  • It depends on the way you play off course. But in general you will loose some of the wires and that is all. But anyway, a violin bow is something very cheap. Around US$ 20.00.

  • dude, this is impressive, do u have ne tips for som1 wishing to achieve similar results ?

  • A guitar, a decent amp, a violin bow, then set the amp's reverb level all the way up. There you go Mr.Page :)

  • Hello! Well the guy below has told you almost everything, but I did not use the reverb all the way up, instead I have abused of the delay effect. Which gives a very good doubled sound on the high notes. But the main effect is really the violin bow. It doesn't matter the effect you use, the bow will always make a very different sound. Just try, it is guaranteed fun

  • yeah!!!

there's a big delay on the middle part
