  • @zukaka84 thats the whole key, in part 2 loyd is just full blown, in 1 he answers quiet almost, either way I love loyds acting in these films, priceless!

  • BTTF 1: BLAHAHAHHAH Where we are going...we dont need roads.

BTTF 2: BLAHAHAHHAH Where we are going...we dont need roads.

  • When Marty asks if they become assholes or not, that's the funny difference. In first part doc answers immediately but in second one he takes time thinking - "are they really assholes or not?"

  • Why is doc in a hurry he has a time machine

  • You have to remember, Part 2 came out like four years after the original, so people wouldn't have noticed when the films were in theaters. Regardless, I don't think it makes that much of a difference.

  • Jenny #1 is hotter

  • The door in the background behind Jennifer is different. Look at the pattern. Lets see I believe a flowerpot is missing in the second movie. Jennifer is played by a different person and Biff comes out to see the Dalorian fly away.

  • i like how it sync's up once in awhile

  • despite the different actresses playing jennifer I think that marty's hair is different

  • Marty has shorter hair in PT1, Jennifer was more petite in PT1 also Doc looks Fatter in PT2

  • ah man youre timing is way off! but the first take back in 85 was the better one!

  • @rad4life1 His timing isn't off he synced it fairly well the timing of the opening/ending is the part that's off.

  • I never noticed that...

  • The moment the DeLorean blasts through the trash cans was the same moment as my mom entered my room with the fuckin vaccuum cleaner on. Damn it I was shitless.

  • This was handled so well I hadn't even noticed they recast the role!

  • Notice how in the reshot version, Doc pauses after Marty asks if they become assholes in the future...

  • i know it sounds weird but i never really noticed the chane in jennifers.

  • Whereas most sequels are shit (and most first movies these days are shit too) "Back to the Future II" was actually really very good!!

  • why they didin't styled the second jennifer's hair like the first jennifer...

  • :23 is the funny

  • Im still confused on how Biff became their nanny .

  • @kkgirl300 Getting slugged by mcfly bruised biffs Labeto. it only take one person to step up and other people will follow they didn’t take him seriously as a bully or a treat anymore. Tho he’s prob still an ahole to ppl but around the mcfly family he’s strait cuz George haves a mental hold of Alfa male over him now

  • wth i nvr knew jennifer got replaced :P

  • @strontklont The first jennifer didnt come back because her mom was ill

  • Prefer the first Jennifer too

  • i like the first jennifer

  • LoL Both movies sed roads where we're going we don't need roads at the same time

  • Pretty amazing that the actors are able to reshoot the same scene identical to how they did four years earlier. Wonder whether they had the original footage displayed on front of them or something

  • I like the fact that the very last line by doc is synchronized again, despite the fact that they get out of sync in the middle. :D

  • why did they make doc white looking. lol.

  • La Jennifer original era mas hermosa

  • Marty:: What Do We Become AssHoles Or Something Doc ::: ( Waits 3 seconds ; Ohh NOnononono )

LoooooLz He Had To Think About It

  • @BreStar98 I liked that too.

  • Yeah, Claudia Wells!

  • much better the first jennifer

  • When I watched Part 2, I was think, "wait a minute... Something is not right here...."

  • Not Elizabeth Shue's best role.

  • The shovels on the wall, the wristwatch

  • ohh thats why bttf 2 jennifer got ugly :/

  • verry well matched :) I know movies where they have more wrong parts within one scene in the same movie.

  • First version Marty and Jennifer (who was WAY HOTTER), with second version Doc.Brown.

    = Ultimate Combo...

Anyone notice in the first movie at the end where doc brown is going into the future (before this scene) after dropping off Marty, the Doc is a bit of a d*ck... he's just like...yeah... whatever Marty... "Look me up when you get there"...'Fine, yeah, I will... Bye!'. That always bugged me, they went through so much and the Doc didn't really give a crap.

  • @casadejoey I thought I was the only one who was ever bugged by that. Marty is all emotional after seeing his friend alive and stuff, and Doc is all like "yeah", and "you bet". Not even a good bye or anything... It's like he's saying: "Ok brat, back off, it's time for ME to finally use MY OWN Time Machine." O_o

  • @owenitzura So I'm not crazy! I only noticed it a while back...and I was like... WTF. Marty got all screwed around coz of you, and he saved you're life... but no no no...you gotta get right into the future, that very evening...no deep chat over coffee about the whole ordeal and keeping quiet about that letter for 30 years...I got shot at by Libyans...but...no no...U gone on... go see the future.

You got a time machine asshole...couldn't have gone to the future at the end of the week. Psssh.

  • @casadejoey nah i never thought he was a dick in that scene. quite the opposite actually... i think he seems more true and human there. it just happens to be the only scene where he doesn't seem like a maniac, too... which is kina refreshing.

  • Awesome! Thanks!!

  • DMC FTW

  • the first jennifer was hotter

  • YOUR DAUGHTER MARRIES A BLACK MAN

  • @athabascka what the deuce

  • the new jennifer sucks

  • I watched all these movies back to back and I didn't even notice the actress changed until I read about it on the Interblag.

  • i was thinking they could've just added in those extra bits with biff, & the car taking off from his perspective. & i don't see how a new actress changes anything, i mean they basically looked the same anyway.

  • I love this movies!!! and I prefer the first Jennifer, she was more beautiful and the second jennifer look older than MJF

but anyways, this movies are one of the best movies from the '80s

  • why was is it again they had to re-do the opening?

i mean they just could have inserted biff's actions into the original ending & started part 2....

    please enlighten me....

  • @donpujitha cuz the actress who played Jennifer had to be recast. The sequels weren't originally planned you know.

  • @BTTFMovie

Claudia Wells was supposed to reprise her role as Jennifer, but due to her pregnancy, the character had to be recast. The recasting was not because the sequels hadn't been originally planned.

  • @Elfrunner I know that the recasting was because she wasn't available. But the sequels were not originally planned. Robert Zemeckis stated that if they had planned a sequel, Jennifer would not have gotten in the car with Marty and Doc.

  • @BTTFMovie

Yes, I know the sequels were not originally planned and that it was short notice having to keep Jennifer in the film. They should have known that the studio was going to push for a sequel and shot that scene to leave Jennifer out.

  • @Elfrunner I don't really mind the actress change since Jennifer wasn't really an important character in the first film. But the thing I dislike about the re-shot scene was that this time, the actors made it seemed a little forced.

  • @BTTFMovie

I do agree with Zemeckis and Gale that the plot was chock full of logistical problems keeping her in the movie like this. A bit cramped in the DeLorean, for one. I much rather would have preferred seeing just Marty and Doc in the time machine from the start. At least she wasn't still tagging along by the third movie. That would have just been weird. Instead, they left her on her doorstep in an altered and highly dangerous 1985 Hill Valley. That must have been logical. :P

  • @Elfrunner I also liked how they explained why at the end of part 1 doc left with einstein, and then came back without him. the suspended animation kennel thing was pretty clever.

  • @BTTFMovie

Maybe they should have put the Elizabeth Shue Jennifer in a suspended animation kennel. :P

  • @Elfrunner

It wasn't her pregnancy, her mother came down sick, and she left acting to take care of her.

  • @Draknfyre

    I know.

  • @Draknfyre oh is that why they didn't keep the first Jennifer...oh that's unfortunate...she was much better than the second one.

  • @donpujitha they reshot is cuz they wanted to do it so that the viewers could recall how the first one ended and tell the people who didnt see the first one, or havent seen in it a while know why they are in the future

  • @cbelli5

It was reshot because Elizabeth Shue replaced Claudia Wells as Jennifer. Otherwise, the scene would have stayed the way it was.

  • @Elfrunner oh right i totally forgot that she was replaced good point thanks

  • @cbelli5

It's easy enough to tell just by watching this comparison video. :P

  • You can tell the pureness in the original. In part 2 the performances are much more "overdone" ugh I hate to say that lol. They did amazingly well in recreating it though.

  • @BsilverMbulletW Yeah, I agree. Anothing reason I like the original version better is cause Marty actually looks like a teenager. I know Michael J. Fox was really in his 20s when doing all three Back to the Future films, but he at least looked more like a 17 year old in Part 1. I do understand why they had to reshoot the scene, though.

  • what do we become assholes or somthing? O_o??...(thinks abut it).... ..oh no no no

  • I like the first Jennifer better.

  • @KiloLima39 me too she was much prettier. Wonder why she didn't come back for the other movies?

  • @KiloLima39 Part two is a alternate Jennifer from a alternate timeline.. Jennifer's dna has been changed.

  • @YoursAmid Thats not why lol. The first actress had different, more important things to attend to. Plus.. If her DNA changed Marty would have known, and noticed it lol.

  • Food for thought. HOW THE HELL did nobody ELSE not notice the loud noises and flashing lights from the time machine. What is a random dissapearing flying thing a common thing in California?........................ wait...

  • it's creepy how much effort went into that trash can

  • @richardmaudsley77 I rather think that bit might be the same shot from the first movie. Not only the garbage is reproduced by the milimeter, but also Doc's (or Doc's arms and hands in this case) moves are identical. Since no faces are shown, that part would be easy to keep from the original (which actually was done with his parents shot: the actor who played Marty's dad didn't take part in the sequels so that bit WAS footage from the first movie).

  • @begbieboy I realised this after I posted it.

  • What's with these clips? The actors look slightly different. And which one was used in the movie?

  • @dragonbreathstinks what, is clicking the discription hard for you?

  • @dragonbreathstinks the top 1 was part I, the bottom one was part II. And the actress playing Jennifer WAS different. Also the 2 scenes were shot 4 years apart.

  • Perfect timing 0:23

  • what do we become assholes or something, oh god so awesome.

  • I love the roads line being in sync like that, but I think Marty's saying "where?" was my fav part. very short and sweet. lol

  • They did a real good job in re-creating it.

  • When Marty meets Jennifer the arm hand positions are all wrong in the sequel.

Jennifer #1 hand never goes up on Marty's shoulder. MJF seems to be trying to fix this as he reaches up and takes her hand down to where it was supposed to be.

It looks like they never rehearsed this much. But props to MJF for remembering that the hands are in the wrong positons.

Also I think Chris Loyd did a fine job recreating this opening.

  • @Nerdad OH YEAH LOL that is funny the second jennifer is just rushing everything and also the original act is much more serious but the second jen everything just looks histerical and stupid

  • I didn't even notice they were played by different actresses! XD

  • the wheels are different are different

  • Thank you SO much for posting this...my husband totally didn't believe that a different actress played Jennifer in each movie!

  • a few things i noticed that were diffenent in the re shoot

beside the trees and bushes being a little bigger

    1. the window suncatcher arent in part 2 0:13

    2. the BMW's are different years

3.theres no red truck in part 1 behined Doc 0:58

4 theres no truck behind Marty and Jennifer 1:07

    5. different cars again in the back ground

ya i know im looking in to it too much

  • Jennifer 2 is way too stiff... there's zero chemistry between her and MJF. Weird because Shue is a fine actress.

  • i know what happened to jennifer somewhere along the line when marty went to the past he did some butterfly effect thing that changed jennifers mother so she looked different, because it couldnt be her father or else she wouldnt be jennifer parker

im not sure though that might change her meeting marty

  • heres what i think

1:29 docs expression is funny in part 2

the first jennifer is prettier and she kisses marty alot better and jennifer 2 is very ugly in this scene and she looks very freaked out

doc performs better in part 2 because he is louder

marty looks younger in part 1 and he did better in the scene

look at 1:43 jennifer number 1 is hugging marty alot they have way better chemistry than the ugly jennifer 2

ok overall the scene for part 2 is better i guess

  • @Michaela7071 I absolutely agree with the chemistry between Jennifer & Marty. Jennifer 2's much more uptight & Marty seems a bit more laid back.

    Good observation for the scenes.

  • DUHHH! I know man I was being a wise-ass. Everyone knows they threw a Shue at us, in BTTF II. They should have just left Wells enough alone!

  • @MrDrHook Really? I liked Shue better for her voice. Other than that, they look the same except for the hair.

  • There is nothin like a hot young girl. Look how 5 little years uglied Jennifer up!

  • @MrDrHook They are 2 different actors.

  • ka boom boom boom

    NIXON....i mean DOC's BACK

  • I like the first girlfriend better. Prettier and subtle.

  • jennifer from part one looks so much better

  • the bottom screen when Marty says "what happens to us in the future, do we become assholes or something?" the doc hesitates for a moment.

  • the first actor for jennifer was sooo fucking HOT. THEN and NOW

  • roads....where we're going we dont need roads. what a great line. I read somewhere that Ronald Reagan actually quoted that line in one of his speeches.

  • wow, i didn't really know there was that much of a difference in the 2 different shots. it's a clothing thing. very similar, but not exact. also Jennifer's hair is a bit longer vs shorter. still an awesome video tho

  • I never knew.... Live and learn. And I have seen these movies a gazillion times.

  • keep me warm baby # lushfmlk.info #

  • See how the licence tag on the black pickup is at a different angle. Marty's shirt is different, lots of things they could easily have fixed.

  • @adatherton

    theres no bush next to the door in the background, in pt II that is;

theres no car on the street at "what are you doin', doc?" pt II ....

sooo many things licence plate etc :D

  • @alekschify Agree bro. Key thing is they can't fix the actress, but they coulda fixed these things. Dohhh!

  • They had to refilm because Elisabeth Shue was replaced as Marty's girlfriend. Crispin Glover (George McFly) was also abscent from part 2 and 3.

  • What makes the 2nd one better is the fact that Doc had to think about Marty and Jennifer being assholes or something.

  • @redeyedbandit1251 I know, right?

  • I knew it the actress has changed in part 2.

  • jennifer is another person in BTTF 2 right ?

  • @zenku41 Yes

  • for all those wondering why the change in end, the original actress choose not to be in the sequel because her mother was sick and she would not be available to film the movie, thus the recasting and need to redo the ending.

  • I LIKE THE SECOND ONE BETTER!

  • why didn't they just leave the old footage? Seems like it was a waste of time and money.

  • @typeanoise new jennifer.

  • @PowerRangers12345

    I see. Haha.

  • Most guys i've known have commented about the changed actor for his GF. Ya, the first one is hotter (she looks like a model doing a photo-shoot for a new shampoo) even though the second one is more attractive than average and they don't look alike, but it doesn't really matter.

Hard to compare performances since it's always biased in one direction or another. The new marty looks like he combed his hair and the first one looks more dazed. That's my opinion.

  • Dude You Ruler This Is`Awesome Thanks For Posting.

  • Check out the Doc's expression at 1:29, when Marty asks him if he and Jennifer will become "assholes". The Doc actually thinks about it for a second! XDD

  • @owenitzura I think because he's thinking to himself "not assholes, but poor and sad" - which they only thought of when they filmed Back to the Future II.

  • Poor Jennifer, the reason the first one wasnt in the second and third movie, because the 1st ones mother got cancer :(

  • Watch Doc's eyebrow (lower screen) at 1:29. He's like "Assholes" not you, just the asshole who decided to replace Claudia Wells with Shue was a good idea!"

  • Claudia Wells - the original and best Jennifer

  • I actually prefer the first Jennifer alot more...not that I don't like Elizabeth Shue, but she didn't have the right amount of levity and verve.

  • the 80s were sooo primitive.. no ipods, cell phones, internet, even their computer's sucked

  • Roads, were we'r going we don't need roads.

Roads, were we'r going we don't need roads.

(I love the sinc on that line)

  • @itsalie ro-roads.

  • @itsalie roads roads? where we're going we don't need roads.

  • Im still so bummed they used Elizabeth shoebox and that whack ass hairdoo...The OG Jennifer was way better and more suited to the MJF character. Both laidback. Shuebox...tried to hard

  • Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads...

    CLASSIC!!

  • does nobody else find it epic how both doc's said that at the same time??

  • hahaha poor biff he doesnt fit in

  • I remember seeing BTTF 2 in theaters way back in '89, and I immediately disliked the new take of "Hey Doc, you better back up. We don't have enough road to make it to 88...." MJF delivers the line so it sounds mechanical, or badly rehearsed.

    Guess 1st time's the charm

  • "I Need Fuel!"....."I Need Fuel!"

  • In the second one, the Doc flips his glasses down. in the original, he just pulls them down.

  • You guys need to remember that they had to shoot the opening of the second film not only for the new actress sake but also to show that Biff sees and be made aware of the time machine's existence.

  • @Dtitilator Er,,, why? It's not like the camera swings around to him, it just cuts.

  • @einootspork It's not about being in the same frame; its about fixing a potential plot hole. Biff (a very old man) in the future says: "Hey a DeLorean... I haven't seen one since..." Making the opening scene a solid reference to his statement and further increasing his desire to know "What the hell is going on" ...Biff

  • @Dtitilator

The scene would have been left alone had Claudia Wells been able to reprise her role as Jennifer. The Biff shot would have been included for the plot, anyway. Personally, I think Wells made a better Jennifer than Elizabeth Shue.

  • @Dtitilator why does Biff need to be aware of the time machine's existence

  • @matchbox555 ........ did you even watch bttf2

  • @ffffaffff yeah, at this point in the movie there is no reason for biff to see the time machine.. biff hears about the time machine and gets the almanac in 2015 and then goes back to 1955... so the biff of 1985 seeing the time machine now is irrelevant

  • @matchbox555 No. It's because in the future when he sees it again he make a reference to it saying:

"Hey, a DeLorean; I haven't seen one since..." (the day he saw one fly away in 1985 which was odd)

Him seeing it with Doc and Marty get out made Biff really want to know what's going on which led him to spy on them to eventually hear about the almanac.

  • @matchbox555 So in the future when he sees it again he make a reference to it saying:

"Hey, a DeLorean; I haven't seen one since..." (the day he saw one fly away in 1985)

Him seeing it with Doc and Marty get out of it made Biff more curious than before which led him to spy on them to eventually hear about the almanac.

  • His watch!

  • @ilikebigbots Good catch! never notice that.

  • The thing that always makes me laugh in these end scenes is Doc Brown's transparent tie. What is the purpose of a transparent tie? :)

  • And yes the original Jennifer was hotter

  • Telltale Games brought me here!

  • Awesome that in syncs up perfectly at multiple points. Very cool.

  • You can mad tell his hair is longer in part 2

  • @Ericson1305

You can mad tell it's a different actor in part 2 lol

  • The handwatch on Marty's hand was the major difference that popped into my eyes...

  • Claudia Wells wasnt in Parts 2 & 3 because her mom was diagnosed with cancer so she turned down the role and Elisabeth Shue replaced her. Other wise she would have been in them

  • obviously couldnt get the poriginal actress back shame when that happens they tried to redo it best they could though

  • Rofl. The timing.

And roads. Pfft. Who needs 'em?

  • it was REALLY annoying that the first Jennifer couldn't reprise her role in the greatest trilogy of all time. fucking hollywood.

  • Man I didn't even know that had a different actor play his girlfriend in BTTF2. The scenes are so much alike they did a fantastic job!

  • 1:46 Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads. LOL
