  • your making stuff richard, your making stuff up... you CANT make stuff UP. lol that part is funny.

  • Yeah theres no way its better than anyone who has preached it before. And when he says "they would not be faithful to the word". The word is the only truth, if we arent being faithful to the word then we aren't being faithful to God or the truth. No one should ever read that book if it's contrary to scripture.

  • Looking at this guy, I'm gonna say FRAUD.

  • I very much doubt that Driscoll's new book and teaching on SoS is better than anyone else's. Seems a bit arrogant to be the writer making that claim.

  • "You can't make stuff up" hahaha love it.

  • He skirts the issue

  • @StandOnTruth explain

  • I am sooooo over Marc Driscoll This guy talks TOO much...

  • @NYTNinAmerica It's his job...

  • Not to talk as much as he does!

  • Comment removed

  • He says he knows women who were raped and abused. I wonder if he told them to find their rapist and marry them, after charging them 60 shekels of silver of course.

  • I love how so many of you are so offended the minute you see a guy standing up and being a leader and a man, the way God's made him to be. I, for one, wish there were more pastors like him. He doesn't just dance around the issues, like other guys do. BTW - you can all stop using the fact that he offends you legitimate credit against him. Jesus was extremely offensive. The Bible is offensive. It even says so!!!

  • @TheStingyGingy The bible IS offensive. It's offensive to decent morals and it degrades human beings. That's why nobody believes it anymore and now realizes what a piece of garbage it really is.

  • @chaseren11 Well, you don't have to believe it, but to claim that nobody believes it is simply incorrect.

  • @chaseren11 nobody believes the bible anymore? right were a dwindling 2 billion of us hahaha.. what an insane comment you just made.

  • @BigG99 I should've said logical thinking people don't believe the bible anymore. As compared to say, the 1600s, when people like Isaac Newton still believed it.

  • @chaseren11 is still an insane comment, seeings how thee are hundreds of name sthat can be presented of philosophers and scientists and such that have been trained at places like harvard, cambridge etc that believe the bible.. You talk about logic, but your logic is soo flawed.. isnt that interesting. Your a self defeating person :(

  • @BigG99 I dare you to name one famous physicist who believes in the bible who is living today.

  • @chaseren11 haha easy.. C.F Von Weizsacker, Stanley Jakey, Charles Hard Townes, Ian Barbour, Anotnino Zichichi, John Polkinhorn, Michal Heller, Christopher Isham, Stephen Barr, Jennifer Wiseman..... thats just to name the famous ones. And those are just the physicists.. Why dont you quit now :)

  • @BigG99 Ok, well you found the 10 people out of the thousands of physicists in the world who believe in the bible. Sadly, even physicists are still capable of having poor logical skills. I should have said I dare you to name a Nobel Prize winning physicist who believes in the bible.

  • @BigG99 And even if those people are Christian, I can guarantee you with 100% certainty that they do no believe in creationism and they do not believe in a literal interpretation of it.

  • @chaseren11 Einstein believed in God and the Bible. He seems kind of important.

  • @TheStingyGingy This is TOTALLY wrong. Totally. Numerous quotes taken from Einstein that say that he believes the bible is a bunch of childish stuff, even though he acknowledges that Jesus likely existed. He was Jewish to begin with, so why would he believe what the bible says? He was a pantheist if not agnostic and at the absolute very least a diest. He 100% did not believe in a personal god. Several different quotes to support this. You are completely wrong.

  • @chaseren11 Very well; I was wrong. I didn't research that particular statement. My apologies. I guess to me it doesn't matter that there aren't tons of scientists and physicists that are Christian, because it's only natural that there would be a heavy leaning towards atheism since all they deal with is the physical and they only believe what can be proved physically. Sure some people believe this world is only physical, but I think that's a horrible mistake.

  • @BigG99 I've haven't ever heard of any of them. Just because they were the first when you googled it doesn't make them famous.

  • @SuperBspb scientists are famous based on their awards and such not based on how much TV coverage they get.Every one of them have awards in the field of physics. Just because you havent heard of them doesnt make them not famous..guys like dawkins are examples of famous people who are actually completley ignorant about what they are talking about. So hes a famous idiot essentially, not as a biologist but as a philosopher which is the type of work attempted in the God delusion.

  • @BigG99 I'm not talking about arrogant douche bags like Dawkins, I'm talking about people like Einstein, Steven Hawkings, and Michio Kaku, people who have actually contributed to science.

  • @SuperBspb there is a serious problem in your logic if you think they are the only ones that have contributed in major ways to science.. in fact i think its funny how the question was asked, i answered and now there is backpeddaling and twisting taking place by you and chaseren11.... if you begin an argument from a place of bitter ranting, you have already lost.. therefore were done talking because this isnt going anywhere.

  • @BigG99 I agree with you bro!

  • @TheStingyGingy He's offensive because he takes his own spin on Christianity and denounces harmless stuff as evil, like yoga and Avatar for example, and tries to inject his own macho douchebagness into his preaching. I'm fairly certain you've never even heard half of the utterly ridiculous, moronic things that come out of his mouth. I'm not even religious, but if Jesus lived today, he would definitely find this guy a monster tool box and ignorant human being.

  • There were separate sermons he preached (not at Mars Hill) on Song of Solomon before the Peasant Princess series that were allegedly poorly handled, and he later apologized for them. I attended every week during the Peasant Princess series and heard nothing that I would consider sinful. This isn't your 150 year old Baptist church in the sticks. Seattle is a secular mission field, and you have to contextualize the gospel to them. That requires honest answers to honest questions.

  • praying you control your tongue ,,,,you show them whats better purity

  • Mark Driscoll is a scam..

  • @WIldFire979 I'm sure the thousands of new Christians that met Jesus through Mars Hill are scams too. Who are you to criticize him anyway? Where are your sermons for others to scrutinize?

  • TITTY FUCK! GLORY TO GOD!!!!!!

  • He is so arrogant. He makes my skin crawl.

  • @47lives And it isn't arrogant to make a statement like that in public without backing it up with facts?

  • @meeks82 And you lack "discernment" just like Driscoll - "Meeks".

  • @47lives In regard what, exactly?

  • Young people with these "explicit question" need answers. If anyone has attended college.....they have to know that this man is a blessing because he is truthful! For most of these young people it's the first time hearing such things!! No you can't do this, no, no , no....because it's a sin in God's eyes. And for the first time they actually crack open a Bible and find those scriptures. This old man interviewing I feel is out of touch.....he is way old....he doesn't get it.

  • Yeah Mark, wouldn't want to preach Holiness to all the types you say are in your congregation. Yeah, that would be the wrong thing. Just keep preaching filth from that culture so they will "be able to understand" You preach the lowest common denominator. You justify your language? Real cool. Just like your jeans. Repent Mark. Preach the gospel, without your personal commentary. Just preach Jesus crucified and keep to the text. More Jesus, less Mark and you will be ok. He must increase.

  • @roller1290Awesome! Just Christ and Him Crucified!

  • He is explicit because the bible is explicit. There is a lot of stuff in the bible that is surprising.

  • It never really clarified what "language" he used.

  • @MinorKeys88

sometimes he talks about oral sex and other sexual stuff. He has full sermons online at marshill.com

  • God, I would love to see this dumb ass in an actual debate about religion. It makes me want to puke how smug and authoritative he comes off in every video he spews his nonsense in.

  • @chaseren11 Search "Nightline does Satan exist"

  • @chaseren11 I'm glad I'm not alone out there about this guy! His "he-man" theology is a joke.

  • @47lives Exactly! Don't forget about his other completely moronic ideas like that yoga and the movie Avatar are evil and that masturbation unless it's to a picture of your wife or with a woman present are forms of homosexuality. The guy is a total douchebag lunatic.

  • @chaseren11 Dumb ass!? You obviously have not seen him in a debate before. (I have.) And he fares very well, unfortunately for you.

  • @TheStingyGingy LOL wrong. I'm talking about a real debate with a debunker of Christianity and religion, like Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens. I'm not talking about that stupid "debate" he was in about whether hell is real or not with those 3 other crazy people. I'm talking about a real debate with a philosopher or scientist, which he has NEVER.. I repeat.. NEVER done.

  • @chaseren11 Does Deepak Chopra not count? Because he's debated with him in the past and fared quite well. Look, it's quite clear that you are set in your view and won't acknowledge anything he says as correct, so I'm not going to waste much time here. I don't really see why you care either, since you don't really have horse in this race. If you don't believe in the Bible then none of this should matter at all to you. Go ahead and make excuses about why it does, but it shouldn't.

  • @TheStingyGingy Deepak Chopra definitely doesn't count. He is even more insane and a nutcase than Mark Driscoll. I care because it pisses me off that people actually take this person seriously and I want to show them why he's wrong in almost everything he says. It's disgusting when people condemn things that aren't bad and intentionally mislead people who can't think for themselves or are emotionally weak into believing whatever they say is true.

  • @chaseren11 How do you KNOW that what he's saying is wrong? Have you even considered the idea that it could be you who is wrong?

  • @TheStingyGingy Because any sensible person would. Have you even heard half the stuff he talks about? He thinks Avatar, yoga, and girly men are all evil. He thinks that it's actually a virtue to be a manly guy instead of sensitive. He thinks that video games and pornography are evil. No logical thinking person would believe any of these childish views.

  • @chaseren11 I have listened to several dozen of his whole sermons, actually. It's clear you have only listened to select bits of his teaching. If you had listened to more you would know how he frequently reminds the men that they life is to spent leading and serving their wives and children in a loving, Christ-like way. And he says video games are a waste of time (which I wouldn't argue with) not evil. As for porn, it is bad. There has been non-Christian research that supports this idea.

  • @TheStingyGingy It doesn't really matter what sensible ideas someone MAY have. If you're literally moronic enough to believe that the movie Avatar and yoga are evil, as well as men who aren't like a stereotypical male, which he actually has spent CONSIDERABLE time talking about, then no one should take you seriously and you should expect it. Porn is definitely not bad and has been shown to reduce cases of rape and sexual crimes by a large amount compared to when people are deprived of it.

  • @chaseren11 You really don't understand at all what he means when says evil. Being selfish is evil. Ignoring your kids is evil. Evil does not equal Satanic and demonic, like you see in movies. And you really should check your facts on porn, because you aren't taking certain of its implications into account. Bottom line: You aren't going to change people's beliefs in youtube comments and neither am I.

  • @chaseren11 I dunno if people can take you seriously when you say things like "Porn is definitely not bad"

  • @TheStingyGingy But I will say that you are in fact right that he didn't say video games are evil, even though you probably know that he really does think that. But ok, I will admit you're correct.

  • @chaseren11 This is his take: Videos aren't sinful, they're just dumb and a waste of time. That's what he says about them in a couple of his sermons.

  • Debate in that context may not be his thing either. You can't just pit any person you dislike against someone you look up to as a professional in a certain category. Look for the masters in that same category to get your debate. Try Allister McGrath, a christian, and a colleague of Dawkins. In fact, they go back and forth producing books against each other.

  • He doesn't really defend his use of language, just answers his personality and why he uses language, but not why it's OK.

  • Driscoll is so quick to point out that he's not "conservative"...this man is a tool and a conformist to hipster seeker-sensitivity.

  • I like the guy he says it bluntly and to the point hes not sprinkling sugar on a turd and calling it a turd he calls it what it is and telling the youth

  • addicted to pornography? LMFAO.............. who cares about sex before marriage?!?!?!

  • @NighthawkTheReal1 God Cares.

  • Its amazing how pastors can get criticized just for talking about things that may make some people uncomfortable. Its the bible. There are things in it that are going to do just that. But the preacher who preaches those things as well as all else that is in it is a great one. Way to go Mark. Being criticized for speaking the full truth of the gospel is one of the best things to get criticized for and questioned about. :)

  • @Hilltopper2014 If I were to criticize him for this, it would be that there may have been younger kids there and the discussion material may not have been really age appropriate. Discussions like this should be in a controlled setting with attendance monitored. But that's my opinion and very of conservative when it comes to what my children hear,(Even in church!)

  • @1madeintheimage The weeks that dealt with more sensitive topics, they gave parents the option of whether or not to allow their children to listen, so that really wasn't an issue. They even handed out a guide that outlined which weeks those sermons would be.

  • @meeks82 That sounds perfectly reasonable then! Every church is made up of different types of folks and while I probably would never go there(I'm an hour from seattle, plus, I hate seattle with a passion) I understand he's trying to address a problem with his members. I don't care for his style or agree w/all of his beliefs but i believe he loves the lord and needs our prayers not vitriolic bashing!

  • @1madeintheimage Agreed. I'm not going to rail against a suburban preacher, especially if God is using him to reach people in his particular context. We should know from reading the Bible that God chooses to use very flawed individuals to make it clear that he is the one changing people, not the preacher. If Youtube was around in Biblical times, I'm sure there would be plenty of people criticizing Peter, Paul, and just about every other apostle and church leader.

  • @reddkell He teaches 12,000 people. 1 out of 5 women say they have been sexually assaulted. You do the math...

  • Comment removed

  • @VoltageKnightHD He doesn't curse. He'll get a question on masturbation or he'll mention sex. He doesn't say damn, or shit, anything else. His subject matter is deviant, I'll give you that, but there is no "bad language".

  • @smccull5 Yeah he does, unfortunately. Not those words, specifically, but I've heard him swear in the pulpit. I generally like his messages, but yeah he definitely made a slip up there.

  • @VoltageKnightHD Read Godshinedown's comment.

  • Would like to hear Driscoll defend his stance and assertion that Joel Osteen (heretic) is his "Christian brother". Anyone that thinks Osteen is a Christian has very low or no discernment or has an agenda, think about that!!

John Macarthur (Sound Pastor) preached a message rebuking Driscoll for his "teaching" on Song of Solomon....search for The Raping of Song of Solomon and listen for free !

  • @VoltageKnightHD ... where does God list, in the bible which vibrations of the vocal chords aren't allowed?

  • @Lightcloud15 *Facepalm* Because you do need something to be clearly stated to know what you should and shouldn't do. Quit being ignorant and realize the obvious.

  • @Lightcloud15 Go read the book of James.

  • So the church is full of people who are "very sexually active" WOW. The Church? This is what years of "mass and speed" evangelism produces. Not the church

  • @ericplittlerock1 that's right cause the REAL church would never invite anyone in who isn't already perfect.

  • I've got a phrase for Mark Driscoll: "God gives grace to the humble, but opposes the proud." No preacher should ever claim that his teaching on a particular book of the Bible is better than any other preacher out there. Just because many preachers don't teach out of a certain book doesn't mean all but one or two of them avoid it completely.

  • @Rawk4Life I think he just means 'better' in the context of fitting the needs of the people he's trying to minister to. I.e., there aren't many resources out there straight from SoS for people with a secular background. I totally agree.

I actually think it takes true humility to talk about something God's done through you in a confident way without worrying that other people are going to label you proud. Wouldn't you agree that feigned self-abasement is more pride than humility?

  • @Rawk4Life i agree. although we must also be mindful of the fact that it is better to be honest than to falsely display humility. i believe pastor mark does a good job being honest. could he have not said that at all? yes.

  • *at being honest

  • @Rawk4Life Really? So we should just take the first preacher's word for it that he's totally correct on everything he said? because by the sounds of it, all preachers must be teaching the same things, with no one teaching heresy because we've gotta be nice to them and say their teaching is all equally good. Preachers have to believe that what they write is as near to the truth as possible.

  • "MY" people? Does Driscoll not realize that those he teaches are NOT his people? He is supposed to lead and teach for Jesus Christ. These people belong to The Lord of Lords, NOT Mark Driscoll.

  • Pretty humble to say "I never heard anyone teach that part of the bible as good as I did". Kinda putting yourself up on a pedestal. Don't like it!

  • @harvestsoulfly hes just confident.

  • Comment removed

  • @dmuzney1 Having confidence and boasting in the Lord is one thing... but I'd say that crosses the line of being arrogant!

  • @harvestsoulfly He "their" shepherd. Biblically laid out, nothing wrong with him claiming those he's leading and who he'll answer to God for his time leading.

  • @notryansmith He's not just "their" shepherd of Mars hill. He has hundreds of thousands of people watching him on youtube every month.

  • @harvestsoulfly By the way, there is a whole bunch of sermons better than this "edgy" lightweight on Youtube. Try Paul Washer if you are serious.

  • @roller1290 Yes, yes... I love Paul Washer!

  • @harvestsoulfly The message Paul Washer gave called "Examine yourself"......, I don't like to use the term "changed my life" but I did a thorough re-thinking of what it meant to be a Christian! That and My pastor, Jason Swofford, spoke about Jesus words, "you 'are' the salt and light" not "you will be" but if you follow me you are! And if you can't truly say you are the salt and light to the world then you have to "examine your self!"

  • @1madeintheimage I can honestly relate with you and I give Christ all the glory! After watching several of Paul Washer's sermons, the Holy Spirit convicted me... DEEPLY!

I have finally learned to embrace and except what God has allowed to happen in my life.I tried to run and hide, but I can't resist God's grace, He just won't allow it.

"We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10

  • @harvestsoulfly Another guy (you probably already know) is Ray Comfort. Check out "Hells best kept secret" and "True VS False Conversions." It is a cd that is a two part or Two in one from Way of the Master ministries! It will also change they way you view Your Salvation! and it's actually very funny! God Bless!

  • @harvestsoulfly I tottaly agree! oozing arrogance!

  • @dmuzney1 Kinda like boasting in himself, right?

  • I attended Marshill Church in Seattle for six months. After going through the extensive church membership classes, interviewing with at elder, I could only conclude that this is a classic cult. It is all about Mark Driscoll. Sola Scriptura not sola Mark Driscoll. This man is evil.

  • he looks like a fat pig farmer who just ate apound of bacon.

  • @evilemounicornXDXP Be nice! (secretly rofl)

  • Love the video!!! What's with you (guy under me) please find the Lord!!!

  • @BeauG92 exactly what religion doesn't need, another arrogant fuck who forces his dumbass opinions upon others. Why does anybody care about this chubby retard? Glad the size of his head matches the size of his ego, jesus christ... (no pun intended)

  • Did he actually cuss or did he just say some awkward things?

  • @7Skilletfan No, he only said some awkward things... some things that would make most Christians blush.

  • @Godshinedown The cross would also make most Christians blush. I'm sure many things the disciples said would make most western, comfortable, 2 hours a week Christians blush as well. It wouldn't make Jesus blush though, and that should be the standard.

  • @7Skilletfan He said "damned-able".

  • @Adoralamusica16 The Bible uses that type of language.

  • @Adoralamusica16 Damned-able isn't even proper english! It's damnable!

  • use all the language of the world to communicate

  • Mark has to use street language so he can communicate with the little people. Little people can't relate to people who don't use dumbing down language. Give Mark a break!

  • @jimmme5880 hmm is that how Jesus did it, is that how Paul did it. Seems to me though, that is how Satan would do it.

  • @Jasgent I was being facetious. I agree with you. People don't need to be treated as idiots.

  • @jimmme5880 Im sorry buddy, it is always a surprise when someone agrees with me, or at least admits to it hahahha--Have a great week man, thanks!!

  • @jimmme5880 That is how error starts. "little people"? Somehow Jesus just said to preach the gospel. Paul said that the gospel was the "power of God unto Salvation" Hmmm...? But maybe your way might work instead.

  • @roller1290

I was saying this as a criticism of Driscoll. I don't think we need to use street language in order to preach the Kingdom. I think Driscoll comes across as an elitist when he feels he must use crudities so that he can get down to "their level." Even the least intelligent among us don't need to be talked to like they're morons. I find him quite offensive. I preach in a small rural church where many are not highly educated; no need to talk like I'm in a saloon to preach Christ.

  • @jimmme5880 I agree. only those the spirit calls will hear the message so why change the message or the way you deliver it!

  • @jimmme5880 People found Jesus to be quite offensive. Being offensive isn't necessarily wrong. The Bible says that the gospel is an offense to many people. I would much rather listen to someone being real, rather than speaking Christianese.

  • Goat herding!

  • @Pfsif Maa-maaaa!

  • Examples, please.

  • trying to find the full interview on the site...

  • @brinkwerks Check under Events, then Planting for Christ ... it's there...
