Watch a Pre-January 8th copy of Inception. Listen closely when the actors say imagine, reality, and safe, or point pistols. You'll hear the words, Loughner, offin' her, part of the word Giffords, and much more. Some say they hear, do it.
Its funny you ask that.... as I now need to make a new intake for my LX as well.... argh.... soon, as I have limited access to the shop for projects like this... stay tuned!
u could have just used a intake gasket to make it the size u want lol then it wouldnt take so long

you should bore out the port to the size of the manifold, or close to it, more flow, more power as well as less restriction

congrats on that working prototype =)
but for the seccond one remember to pre drill the holes before you fut all the things together.
Its easyer to do the drilling first before you have funny angles that will make it a problem to drill a hole

or you can get a aftermarket flang for all sizes of carburetors.
They cost about 20 bucks.
They are awaylible in aluminim and in rubber.
Rubber is much better because it can strach to fit the carb optimaly then the metal one
