  • nice vid. made me realize ive been taking the wrong hand off my bars

  • what gear ratio are you running?

  • like vid but not your bike lol

  • one question are you right footed or left footed? i just want to know if it's easier with your dominant foot in front or back

  • @SuperfuturePDX1 I do Keo's with my dominant foot in the back but most people I know that can do them put their dominant foot in the front. I guess it's however you feel comfortable.

  • thats fuckin dope!!!

  • I have the problem of keeping it spinning. Can any1 help?

  • *plant, curse this iPad typo

  • Gave me a face ant on the first try

  • does it matter if your seat is high up

  • when you doing circles, do you like pretty much fall backwards kinda, to do a keo?

  • thanks bro

  • Comment removed

  • nice tuturtial

  • @RSyemi14 "tuturtial" LOLWTF?

  • @1sika33 i was looking how to do a hop bar tutorial n i found this tutorial

  • to easy, first trick i learned

  • get a bmx!!

  • @b1gbudda let's see you do a keo spin on a bmx.

  • are u using straps?

  • Was the second part filmed at North Hollywood Skate park, CA? Looks very familiar.

  • Why would someone talk like "damn how u guyz do dat ive been tryin and every time ima bout 2 pop it u." Embarrassing, no?

  • how long did it take you to learn this

  • Right now I'm riding 44 x 19 is it easier to keo with a lower ratio? like a 44 x 16?

  • damn hahah i kan do it but it seems i can only spin the bike 180 degrees

but man watching this makes me wanna go out and ride again

  • can keo spins be done without toe cips or straps..im to lazy to go buy some

  • Can you do keos with drops

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW TO WHEELIE ON A FIXIE ITZ SOO HARD

  • Is the ratio matter for keo spin?

  • @ongne1234 Depends if you can handle it

  • I don't understand how you can lift the front wheel with one had, and the hand on the outside.

    HELP!

  • @CedarSquad you pop it up with your legs mostly

and the hand outside is for balance

  • @CedarSquad When your going backwards and u shift your weight to one side it will life it up

  • you make this little spin look easy...

  • did keo really start keo spins holy shit yo hes awesomee

  • is the front rim heavy to lift?

  • man tom ur the best.. i am glad u madentthis vid i learned like in 3days

  • do you do this with your feet in the toe straps/cleats

  • Tom Mosher your my inspiration to fixies!! i bought a volume Cutter v5 recently ive been LOVING IT

  • Yooo how are you picking up the front. I start with my right leg back and complete the half crank rotation am I supposed to push down with that right foot once it completes the half crank rotation? Sorta like a wheelie *

also I'm going in a clockwise direction opposite of you.

  • @Hotboiruben2 Hey, you don't really pick up the front. The foot lock action basically jerks the bike and your arm swinging and you leaning back gets the bike front up. I got it in about 2 days, you have to get used to locking your outside foot when it straightens out. PM me if you have more questions

  • @2luviz2h8 but which leg do you lock when moshers left foot is in front after the half crank rotation does he lock his left leg, and does he have to do anythin with his right.? I'll post a vid

  • AHAHAHAH are you wearing a jew hat?!?!?!?!!!

  • @DaMMO96 AHAHAHAHAHAH DOES IT MATTER???????

  • @DaMMO96 that's a cycling cap ya goon. XD

  • how long did it take you to learn how to keo spin ?

  • Hey Mosher i put my left foot in the front because it makes my balance alot easier but i still dont under stand it? If i put my left foot out to do keo spins do you put the right out first and then do it

  • lol SPIN THAT SHIT

  • do you need to keep both straps on?

  • i was just wondering, do you have to keep both straps on when you do this?

  • got it!!, the hard part is just learning how to ride backwards lol

  • thanks man it helped me alot

  • damn, I wish I could do those!

  • I start out the same way as you do but instead of stiffening my left leg as it rises, I end up stiffening my right leg as the left comes down, so basically I'm doing the opposite but going the same direction, I can't spin much past 180 tho is this due to my form being different or do I just need to swing harder?

  • Make one on fakies lol

  • so during the actual spin are you sitting or stnding, or does that not really matter?

  • Comment removed

  • your forum was removed

  • does it matter what leg if forward while doing the track stand

  • I find it alot easyer to try and pedal forward a bit insted of stiffen my leg, i just learned how from a frend 2nite and i alredt got 180s most if the time

  • Yeah, bike polo at the end!

  • Thanks for the tutorial! I can now hit solid 1080s and have a uploaded vid to prove it.

  • also.

    what ratio do you have?

    I have 48 and 16.

    Is it difficult with that?

  • Comment removed

  • Are keo spins difficult?

Cause i've been trying for the past two days and obviously

i cant expect to do it the first time yet i cant even get

my front wheel off the ground.

    any tips?

  • if uve skiied or snowboarded it helps. ITs the same concept as throwing ur body into a spin on a snowboard except u want to throw ur outside arm

  • nice. what's the gear ratio?

  • i did my first one yesterday and ive only had my bike for 3 weeks

  • is the keo spin hard to do, or is it just ballzy?

  • neither. just takes practice. i learned in a week with about 3 days of hard practicing

  • thankx man

  • ugh the keo spin is so nerve racking to me! i can backward circle for days. and i just got no handed track stand pop ups, down. is the trick to the keo spin kind of like the pop up? like you said, put your way back into the saddle (thats what i do to pop up). should i do that before i stifen my leg? also, you come in at a pretty intense incline at 0:21 is that always necassary? seems ballsy.

  • yea thnx i got down da pop up part and shit already i juss gota learn 2 spin further

  • yer but once ur spinin dont u rock ur pedels back and forth

so ur goin bkwards right foot goes down as the left cums up stiffen left leg pushin forward then when there level push down with yr right repeating the process for howeva many spins u can do

  • Yeah, you can definitely do stuff like that to get way bigger ones, I just didn't want to make the tutorial super complicated.

  • ahh i see srry

ahh tommosher sweet didnt get on too then seen a few vids pritty sick ive only bin ridin since christmas and just changed me forks for straight 1's just learnt bars spins scketchy thou

    l.t.s.liverpool track squad

  • u onli need a front 2 barspin some ppl juss buy it both so ur bike wnt look uneven

  • u guys buy 650c only front or both to barspin???

  • damn how u guyz do dat ive been tryin and every time ima bout 2 pop it up, i always plant my right foot down on da ground. i tried 2 clip in but i still cant do it.... help?

  • Just man up! haha

Practice backward circles and wheelies/popups first. Then just kinda backward circle into a pop up and spin it! haha have fun!

  • @misturd3rek Fuck it be a man and leave your foot there. you fall you fall

  • @misturd3rek Dont be a little girl. You'll fall a couple times but so what?

  • anyboyd have any idea how tall he is vs. his frame size? it seems like people who are doing tricks on a fixed gear ride smaller bikes, like, i'm 5'10 and have a 56 cm. standover on my bike, and i think if i dropped down to like a 54 frame or even smaller, it might be easier. any advice?

  • yeah if you check out the folks over at 3bancho, they all ride smaller frame sizes (I think in the high 40's). I think having some bmx-styled handlebars, stem, cranks,bb, and pedals helps a lot too!

  • I'm 5'8andabit and the bike I ride now is a 53cm Cutter, it fits me nice.

  • schwinn cutter or volume cutter?

  • nobody uses schwinn cutter.

  • @tommosher Cutter FUCKKK YEAAA =p i just got mine i lovee itt[= haha

  • kick that ass. excellent.

  • okay so i realize people call them keo spins because keo is hella good at them. But i've always called them whips. Or is a keo spin where you start right end left, and a whip is where you start right and end right? Just wondering.

  • You can call em whatever you want, but Keo himself told me that if there is no barspin then he would call this a "reverse pivot".

  • spin dat shit!

  • im kinda new at fixieing but i have a question. I want to do barspins so i know i need atleast a 650c front tire but while looking at some bikes on velospace with 650c fronts it still looked like teh wheel would hit the frame. I saw a few with a front 600c but that was wayyyyy to small. please let me know if 650c"s will work

  • yes a 650 will work. some bikes can barspin 700's

the bikes that can spin 700, the tire will be about a quarter inch from hittin in normal riding position.

you can barspin with 650 on any bike.

  • Depends on your frame and fork as much as it depends on your wheel size. Got 700Cs on a bike for 27"s, and still would not have clearance. However, different angles between the frame and fork will grant you different clearances.

  • i have a 650 and now i toe overlap like craaaaaaaaaaazy :/

  • Uh, are you stupid? Having a 650 should give you less toe overlap.

  • my bike came with 27"s and i put 700s on it. i have aloooooooot of clearance.

  • FIXIE TRIX GUISE!!!

  • thanks!

  • Tom, one thing you didn't say, which is helpful to some people is which foot is typically your "forward" foot. i.e. which foot do you bunny hop with being forward?

Looks good, as does the new video!

  • Hey I think it is awesome that you took the time out of your day to put this together simply because you want people to have fun.

That is just as cool as this trick!

  • Dude this is a great tutorial

I spent 3 hours trying to figure out the rotation and couldn't get my thumb on it. This helps me a ton!

  • agreed. it was originally named whirlybird.. or twirlybird..i forgot haha. fun ass trick though

  • I like the name whirlybird better. and its cooler to learn tricks on your own rather than having tutorials, then its a more accomplish thing to learn. with tutorials anyone can learn a trick but it takes more determination to learn something on your own.

  • So you're saying if your buddy asked you how to do it you wouldn't tell him?

I figured it out on my own, but I made these to help the people who need help along the way.

And remember, you don't have to use the tutorials!

  • I guess its kind of a selfish prideful thing on my part, but i figured out the same things you wrote in the tutorial just from watching video's of you and keo, and i taught my friend. its just though cooler saying you figured it out on your own rather than watching a tutorial. I guess it is kinda dumb, but there's nothing wrong with what your doing helping others out. its a hard trick to get down all the way, i wish i wasn't bikeless right now, i really wanna ride.

  • Isn't the accomplishment actually doing the trick?

  • It is a bigger accomplishment learning to do the trick all on your own.

  • I have to agree with Tom here. What you said makes no sense from a progression standpoint. Its like saying instructions for Lego are overkill, and it would be much more fun if you built it from the picture. I say the tutorial is amazing, and if you don't like the concept of learning things with the assistance from others, you should not be here right now. And for those who like it, Keep watching, and hopefully there will be more to come!
