Movies are so corny... as though police helicopters swoop in at ground level. The whole purpose of a helicopter is to keep a vehicle in sight from high above. Even the radio chatter is not well written or well acted (voiced). Just all around stupid.

i don't know what engine Elanore has i belive he has a Nissan V6 crate engine, my 66 mustang gets 140 (then my speedometer stops) but i'm sure she could make 160 easily with the original 289 V8 with some Edelbrock stuff. But its all about the acceleration, the feeling you get from the car and the looks (this is a ugly pice of shit car but a stock mustang is the best looking car there is in my opinion)
In my opinion the original 1974 60 seconds was much better. And the car was much more beautiful, i prefer tat yellow '71 mach 1 than a tuned version of a GT500 with more headlights than horsepower and no chrome at all. Still, this was an enjoyable film, with a great chase.

Love this movie, the only part that drives me crazy is hitting the N20 button at 7500rpm, lol there were 13 cars made for that movie and most had 302s and some were 351s. Granted I would love to own a 351 that would turn 7500-8000rpm and make power up there.
I really don't get what the big deal with Eleanor is. Eleanor isn't a classic edition of a GT500. It's a tuned edition from a modern movie. Fucking stupid that people really take authentic GT500s and put this shit on it. SMH.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree!
The nicest movie I ever seen...nice actor...nice car...awesome action! But the original was nicer....the one from 1960 I think...with that 2 hour pursuit.... I love that car anyway....

@rcsibiu haha well if you can find a body thats in good shape, a good tranny for a car like that will be about 4 grand and then a crate motor might run you for about 3 grand. it all depends on what size motor you get and how nice you want your car to be, paint will be around 2500 and pinstriping or vinyls might run for a few hundred

theres a video on here that matches up the 2010 gt500 to the 67 gt500, the new mustang actually performs better on the skidpad, and in handling and horspower., but the surprise was the drag race at the end. the 2010 gt500 super snake did an 11.40, to the 67 gt500 10.70 the old elenore crushes the new one! not to mention he didnt even have use the twin nitros bottles! the caption at the end said it is what it was. i had to laugh, it wasnt, the 67 shelby smoked it !

Wow how fucking tacky. The car is hitting 8000 rpm in its top gear and doing 100mph, and you hit the nitrous and suddenly go 160mph.
That's not just impossible, its retarded. Nitrous will only increase acceleration, the top speed will remain about the same. The gears will be limiting the top speed, not the engine.
Plus, what could he possibly be running? 100 shot? 200 shot? 300 shot? Whatever it is, it's not getting a 100mph car to 160mph.
Didn't look like it. He was revving up a V8 to 8500rpm (?) when he hit the nitrous. I didn't see any shifty or drop in RPM before he hit the magical button.

@Jdrummer012 Yeah....this is a nasty thing! I searched for a Plymouth Hemi Cuda 1970 two days ago and the price was no lower that 35.000 dollars. The most expensive one was 350.000 dollars...perfectly reconditioned...like new! Unfortunately I don't have enough cash to buy one....I have just 25.000 dollars....and nobody wants to give me one old muscle car for this price. What you think I should do?:(

@rcsibiu well you could just find a rolling chassis and find a motor and transmission, you could restore a nice car for 25,000, or just save uo your money and wait till you can afford one

@rcsibiu haha well if you can find a body thats in good shape, a good tranny for a car like that will be about 4 grand and then a crate motor might run you for about 3 grand. it all depends on what size motor you get and how nice you want your car to be, paint will be around 2500 and pinstriping or vinyls might run for a few hundred

for 25,000 dollars you can get a decent used supercar which both will outhandle and outlast that Cuda when it comes to reliability and ease of use
that way you can get a car that is actually good for more things than just showing off at the dragstrip

@McLarenMercedes I would love to know what "Supercar" is truly that cheap, that fast, and that reliable. Any car that relies on computers certainly won't last as long as mixture screws and cables, bar none. Not to mention when this mystical cheap supercar breaks, it'll cost a lot more to repair.

The 2000 remake was for BOYS who don't know shit about cars, or anything else really.
If nothing else that 500 meter flight dead straight in the air killed the movie for anybody that wanted to see REAL driving, not some fake computer generated CRAP.

theres a video on here that matches up the 2010 gt500 to the 67 gt500, the new mustang actually performs better on the skidpad, and in handling and horspower., but the surprise was the drag race at the end. the 2010 gt500 super snake did an 11.40, to the 67 gt500 10.70 the old elenore crushes the new one! not to mention he didnt even have use the twin nitros bottles! the caption at the end said it is what it was. i had to laugh, it wasnt, the 67 shelby smoked it !

heh saleenxxx they are original mustangs cheif ford sent gt mustangs to shelby those were the base cars that shelby worked with then he put all his work and parts and majic from there,yeh thesemovie cars are a little different and take some getting used to.I'm still not used to the wheel well flares yet or the really big hood scoop but some things are nicer in my opinion like the upper scoops look more sleek ,the gas cap location is cool so is original. run out of room i"l lrepost to finish

Wow how fucking tacky. The car is hitting 8000 rpm in its top gear and doing 100mph, and you hit the nitrous and suddenly go 160mph.
That's not just impossible, its retarded. Nitrous will only increase acceleration, the top speed will remain about the same. The gears will be limiting the top speed, not the engine.
Plus, what could he possibly be running? 100 shot? 200 shot? 300 shot? Whatever it is, it's not getting a 100mph car to 160mph.
Eleanor is a sick ride though.

Didn't look like it. He was revving up a V8 to 8500rpm (?) when he hit the nitrous. I didn't see any shifty or drop in RPM before he hit the magical button.

this hardly IS a mustang, whats mustang about it? the body style and maby the engine block everything else on the car is like a fucking ricer. If you want a GT500 keep it stock maby give the engine more power but don't put plastic, ugly rims, ugly lights, ugly exaustpipes, ... on it
