Historically census has included country of origin, which I don't know musta meant where were you born. Funny that looking at historical docs on my family, that over time it morphed from Ireland to 'Irish Free State'. Old census docs are very cool. All this statistical illiteracy, however, is just going to drive down the quality of the data this congresswoman depends on to manage her district.

Okay, people, one last time: ACORN does not work for the Census, does not hire enumerators on behalf of the Census Bureau, and will not be going door-to-door collecting data for the Census. Also, while the 2010 Census questionnaire does not ask citizenship status, the American Community Survey does. Note, it does not ask LEGAL status, only citizenship (citizen v. non-citizenship) status.
