that was very cool and a beautiful outcome. i just dont understand how you get 3 different colours on the brush to make the effect...wouldnt they all just mix together to make a final colour?
1.Dip brush with around 60% water retained. Roll and wipe on any paper .2.Dip lightest color to 3/4 brush length Remove excess color by rolling brush.3.Dip to darker color (maroon) , allow color up to third of the brush.
4.Dip again to mixture of black and maroon. This time it should only be on the tip of the brush.Make a vertical swipe to create 1 petal side at a time.
This case the outer portion is darker because the the last color dipping sequence is black Good luck.:)
wonderful that you share brush how-to's --- specific movement---lifting and pressure, making 3 colors with one stroke (achieved by mixing color onthe brush itself--- also that your dry brush with adab of pigment if dipped in water to pull water into the brush and therefore not put too much water onto the palette--- better for painting and better economy of pigment---

Beautiful! What size and type of brush do you use?
gellexi 2 years ago
Its a medium sized chinese brush .
But you can use longer and pointed brush type.
Its available in any art shop.
Use oxhair or rabbit hair. This type makes well defined edges.Try it and discover. : )
