I was always suspicious of the fed reserve suppressing the gold price over the last 5 years. The give a way was Bernanke's dissertation explaining his blame of gold for the first great depression. Now, like everything else, it's back firing on the Fed, and we have to make up the difference. I wonder if G W B wasn't in the oil business, would they have surpressed the price of oil over this past summer.
