  • One of my favourite songs in the world. Dat synth.

  • Die Melodie Spiegelt alles Lebenswerte auf dieser Welt wieder...

  • BoC never gets old.. Nice video! Such a overwhelming atmosphere that dips you in this thoughtfool mood

  • Who keeps on cutting those onions?

  • Wasn't really feeling the video.

  • I love this song...viscerally, since years. BoC changed my perception of life. Difficult to put into words what I feel when I hear these notes. So... In four days, I'm gonna get a tattoo. "Amo Bishop Roden". On my ribs.

  • @jeanneMilliere

You do know who that is right?

  • @oboqoo I do, I totally do. And I'm okay with this.

  • Back in my faves box!!!!!

  • Video made in Québec, one of the last places speaking french in North America. Respect. In a sea, I will say an ocean, of english speaking people.

  • @prodigyxl

    More of a swamp.

  • Robozee.

  • Snowflakes YEEEHAAAA

  • HARDKNOCKS 4 intro !

one of the best graffiti movies from BERLIN CITY !

  • Anyone know the story behind the song title? i've always been curious. the synths and samples are so smooth. boc are legends

  • @Dustin322 Amo Bishop Roden is the name of a Branch Davidian. I believe she is also the one who made up their slogan "Come out and live in a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country", and she is mentioned in the song 1969 ("Although not a follower of David Koresh (backwards), she's a devoted Branch Davidian")

  • @Dustin322

Amo Bishop Roden was a member of the Branch Davidians. She survived Waco.

  • Can anyone tell me what album this is on

  • @Vpopov81 this is on "in a beautiful place out in the country" it's an EP

  • cool))

  • Anyone else reminded a lot of the Jak 2 soundtrack when they hear this song? Something about the short blips, rhythm and whimsical synths makes me think of many of the tracks in that game. If you want to see what I mean, search up "Jak 2 - Praxis Palace", and "Jak 2 - Under Attack at the Pump Station".

  • i love this synth line. triggers in me beautiful memories and associated feelings of.

  • bravo majstore!

  • after a while you realise that drug can be also used as drug

i am writing this on oxygen

but you have to realise that music is own lifeform

i wish i could give music a hug

  • This song is the balance of perfection, its ugly and beautifull at the same time and most of all, there's fullness, but still room for your own interpretation.

  • very nice! Good job. I love this song. (I´m f.Montreal) greetings from Mexico.

  • my own human brain brought me here while i ate bacon

  • that bassline is the definition of perfection

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • gamertag = AmmoBishop cuz of this song

  • @raisinbranchise You're doing it right.

  • Pure sound, EPIC song...

  • i dont know why but i hear a little bit of connecting sounds between this song and deadmau5' - some chords

  • @MrMushroom123 if you say so dear mr. god :)

  • How con someone dislike this track?! Guess the army of 14 soulless robots was here...

  • @Aron100MLNY pretty shit army if there's only fourteen of them.

  • @Aron100MLNY Why don't you just accept it that not everyone shares the same opinion as you?... btw love this song!

  • @Laubotje Well, I am aware that opinions differ even to a great extent, but I don't expect anyone to listen to this track just to dislike it, that's all. I mean, who takes the time to go and grumble on something that he/she doesn't find attractive ?! If I don't like something, I just let it be, what's the point of me expressing my disapproval ?! I don't expect my opinion to be prevalent, but it boggles my mind when people spread the hate around something they're not keen on at all.

  • @Aron100MLNY This is not justin bieber dude, it's not like they google boards of canada just to dislike the video.

  • @Laubotje Yeah, I see your point. But I still think that it's better just to leave something unjudged than judge something as negative (even if you don't find it appealing) - but that's only my opinion and you have the right to disagree, just like anybody else. So, let's get off the off-topic and let's enjoy the music. Cheers!

  • The chords in this song really conjure up that early 90's post party chill out drug-swathed loveliness for me. And I get all wistful that it's so far in the past and I was so young and I can never go back. But HEY that's life!

  • TEST

  • @shadowedpartss fuck that.

  • so nice. thanks again Limbik.

  • ORIGINAL PIONEER OF DUBSTEP - GO AND WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT!!!

  • Agree with the Dostoevsky quote, but the real question is whether that ineffable experience has any kind of appreciable meaning or significance, or if it isn't just the product of psychological structures and processes, arising from conditioning and formative associations. Mental states are compelling, but it's just psychology, feelings.

  • @thinedoor2 I agree with what you are saying to an extent. However I don't like saying something experienced is 'just something'. The analysis of these processes,, really don't mean much to the one who is experiencing nor does it change it. If there is an intelligence or awareness behind the conditioning it knows that it's emotions are real and at the end of the day it's all that we have. All art we percieve is associations but the real beauty is that we are all sharing it together. We are human

  • So beautiful.

  • if they dislike this song they must have shit taste

  • god made this music through boards of canada.

  • yay for rhubarb!!!

  • I love this song ...

  • The TV Babys are here, hope they wake up soon. :(

  • the 13 people who disliked this song are probably sheep :P

  • those who dislike must be out of their head

  • God didn't make this music!! Boc are GOD!!

  • Into the campfire headphase, amazing album, tracks similar to this

  • I already commented there so I'll say here that Sixtyniner just caused me to cry and writhe around in ecstacy again.

  • i first have hear that song in the graffity movie ''Hardknocks 4 Berlin trainbombing'' since this day i search the intro song and now i have found it !!

  • fuck the christian church

  • Simple inspiring, beautiful and though-provoking....

I'm so happy that, unlike with many of my 18 year old friends, I can share with and appreciate the majesty of this track with fellow fans.

    Peace

  • Mauro Picotto's track bears resemblance to this. It is not unlikely that he was inspired by BoC (as most listeners are :)

  • @nudePanorama , You are from Montréal right ?

  • @julyboy66 Hi julyboy66, no i'm from Quebec city.

  • @NudePanorama Oh!.......and i'm from Poland from Giżycko city. : >

  • @julyboy66 Je l'ai tout de suite su en regardant tes images. Beau video.

  • wow truly amazing reminds me of walking with people experiencing things sitting, talking, growing and learning before anything really mattered before money when only bliss was truly with me

  • If you like Boards of Canada, Helios, Hammock, Eluvium, Goldmund, Rachel's, The Album Leaf, and other similar artists, you may like my stuff. I'd love some support! :)

  • @MrScubasuit Thank you! Those seem like some very great recommendations - I've listened some tracks and so far they do indeed breathe the same atmospheres.

  • Boards of Canada are living in her own world! But they let us look inside!

  • fucking amazing tune right here. i've been listening to this on repeat for the last hour. i could listen forever it's putting me in a wonderful trance...

  • Beautiful vid for a beautiful piece of music. Captures the innocent wonder and curiosity of discovering the miracles that surround us in everyday life.

  • Classic...multiple plays okay!!

  • disliking this song is a sure sign you are missing something inside. it provokes deep thought in anybody that ponders the usual questions, why are we here?, what is the meaning of all of this? to not respond emotionally, at least in some way, to this tune makes me sad for the people who disliked it.

  • I remember this track ten years ago in a Sven Vath set for close the night, simply epic, best track of Boards of Canada ever.

  • aphex twin is crazy music...different like this a kind of weird...but aphex twin is great mjusic too...listen too ''come to daddy''

  • I was listening to this song in class and I looked around at everyone, imagining that they were all listening to this song as well but not fully aware that they were. It was a weird thought, but I smiled to myself as everyone's movements seemed to match the song, and I though about how I'm in my own world when this song is playing.

  • be sure to check out vargtimme by helios. captures the same emotion as this track, just a little darker i think

  • They should make this song a Class A, I can't even begin to remember what I was doing before I found this.

  • that bassline is so subtle yet so beautiful. this is fantastic.

  • Who do I have to murder to get this on my ipod?

  • every time I listen to this song I have a gooseflesh, it's amazing

  • What a beautiful video!

  • This song is as great as Heliosphan!

  • Sounds little bit like Paul kalkbrenner. =) Epic.

  • @EliasElElias

despite the fact that it's totally different kind of music, it doesn't even sound like kalkbrenner at all (and I'm a listener of him as well)

  • @o0smd0o I wouldn't say it's totally different kind of music. Minimal techno and IDM are different genres, but they have a few elements together.

These pads in this song simple remind me of Paul Kalkbrenner :)

  • Nothing like Boards of Canada. <3

  • WHATS THE NAME OF THE SONG OF THEIRS WITH THE LYRICS SUNG BACKWADS???????

  • OMG, BOC, ILY

  • o love BoC and aphex twin

  • This makes me feel so emotional... It's just such beautiful music... Boards of Canada, I love you

  • long live boards of canada, aphex twin, autechre, quosp etc etc

    Remax of Nanaimo

  • I don't get this song. 10 seconds of music on repeat for 6 1/2 minutes...

  • @Keith833 If you actually listen you'll know it's more than that

  • @Keith833 stick to the radio mate, you clearly don't deserve to listen to boards of canada.

  • the combination of music to these visuals, makes me realize there is so much beauty in what's commonly seen as the simplest things.

  • I love how they put the sound of sneakers in this song and make it flow so well, long live BOC

  • such a classic tune. love it!!! even today...it still grows in me.

  • such a classic tune. love it!!! even today...it still grows in me.

  • awesome

  • Amen...

  • the older we get the more we buy into the bullshit.

  • if you love this, listen to "rhubarb" by aphex twin.

  • @MrMushroom123 So different

  • @MrMushroom123 Hey thank you for the notice, i found rhubarb(never heard before, what a shame) and its definitely one of the best ambient/electronica tracks i ever heard, blissful and serene.

  • @NudePanorama

thanks for checking this track out. rhubarb is one of my favorite tracks. imo rhubarb represents pure self-reflection to me and i could feel the same vibe coming from your video. i listen to a lot boc lately and i found this track to be one of their most enjoyable pieces (along with "roygbiv" and all its childish naivety :D).

  • @NudePanorama Then listen to the acoustic cover of Rhubarb. Etheral, haunting. My favourite video on Youtube.

  • @NudePanorama Rhubarb is one of the best songs ever, hands down. It does things to my brain that nothing else can.

  • @NudePanorama No, if you like this, try listening to "the Disintegration Loops" by William Basinski.

  • @leeho98 - I listened to the disintegration loops once, it nearly put me in a coma.... ;)

  • @Redchampion23 Coma? Why?

  • @leeho98 - very long, repetetive - I like it, but it sends me to sleep!

  • @Redchampion23 It's called Tape Music or just Minimalism, a different genre.

  • @MrMushroom123 yeah this is a *beautiful* tip for *real* ambient music :) For the sweet side (and for all females *smile*) I would recommend "Vector Lovers - Night Train Memories" enjoy your life

  • @Heimlilly do you know this feeling when you associate right from one track to another? i really enjoy trippy music like the one you've just listed. check out "highland" by omni trio.

  • @MrMushroom123 uh, great one, thx for this tip :) ...and whether I know this? he he he... I would rather say this is one of the essential things in my life ;) well music is always a kind of self interpretation/definition, e.g. "trippy" is for me more psychedelic stuff like Boxcutter's Rikta, "harmonizing" I would call this tune here, "uplifting sweetness" Ed Chamberlain's Zarathrustra and Bitstream's Crab Nebula (for more IDM: Nautilis-888), "glorious" Autchre's VLetrmx21 etc etc :)))

  • @MrMushroom123 I could go on and on since this was only the chilling downbeat/ambient stuff for home listening...which doesn't inclued all the energetic ones for dancing, different kind of dances for different tunes/elements of music etc ;) but this doesn't belong to this BoC tune/topic here ;)

  • @MrMushroom123

    Thankyou!

  • @MrMushroom123 Already deed.

  • @MrMushroom123 I would say that if someone loves this, then odds are probably pretty good that they've already listened to "rhubarb" and a lot of other great tracks by RDJ :)

  • @MrMushroom123

you hit the nail on this one. I always remembered it as the track nr3 on selected ambient works 2 ;)

  • @MrMushroom123 Heliosphan is matching better... but rhubarb is also great

  • @adamcan888 heliosphan is one my favs. so many so good.

  • @MrMushroom123 if you love this, chances are you've already heard "rhubarb" by aphex twin... and god bless your soul, it's doing great work here...

  • @MrMushroom123 Yup. Aphex Twins music is pretty damn fantastic.

  • wick squid and bo.

  • you just cant write this with words. amazing

  • Thumbs up for the begging quote

  • This song helped me though some sad times, see you soon cupcake.

  • Almost as good as Ulrich Schnauss.

  • @danzas I like a few Schnauss tracks "You were the only one around" being my favorite, but IMHO Boards are on a completely different level.

  • Boards of Canada changed my life

  • There is a mistake in the name of the writer! Correct is Dostoevsky but you typed it Dostevsky :)

  • @3ombieautopilot I know how it is spelled, but i missed the o. :}

  • THIS IS SO DEEEP IM A HIPSTER HERP DERP

Beautiful song though. If a bit short.

  • @marwutz Thank you.

  • why only 6:13 long? that's too short for me :'(

  • >implying this garbage is music

  • Vocals? 95 percents of vocal music is piece of crap.

  • i love this track on so many levels.

"a man who is proud of small things shows that small things are great to him."

it is because we forgot how to enjoy the small things in life we need such substitutes like drugs. it is because we got used to the little things like a heroin addict gets used to his daily dosis, we seek out for more. but what makes sunlight so special to the imprisoned? what makes water so special to the thirsty?

the same reason that makes your birthday special every year anew.

  • @machineromance

Or you just have small penis

    :D

  • @machineromance

exactly! happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you already have. there is nothing wrong with seeking something new, but most people (and even myself sometimes) forget about how thankful we should be for everything we have.

    most importantly healthiness.

the real problem is that today we live in a materialistic and superficial society, which pulls you away from the truth and feeds you with everyday new products you dont even want to have, but tells you to.

  • @MrMushroom123 COmpletely agree!

  • @MrMushroom123 This.

  • @MrMushroom123

That's some dangerous commie speak you got going on here.

  • @MrMushroom123 well put

  • @machineromance thats it...

  • @machineromance I wish you were a friend of mine, keep on shining great thoughts...

  • @machineromance - you are a loser! who do you think you are to make this rediculously protentious claim I am sorry if i Dont get you wise claim, but to me you seem like a protentious prick who has nothing better to do than to state what is on his silly little head. Just listen to the music. If you want to preach shite, join a church! God Bless LOL! x

  • @pizza123450 you accuse someone of writing a pointless comment but to me it looks like you just did the same thing, with the difference that your comment really has no significance.

  • ;__;' Ahhh, the quote is so true..

  • i´m so relaxed now.....look for the germen fusion festival.

  • yes i love this song one my favorites of all time top , its not progresive, its not tech, its not house, its electroinica , musika electronica

  • KOCHAM

  • I used to listen that track every rainy day, the ambiance created was awsome. Same effect as having a joint. Thanx, i'm flying now ^^

    LO VE LY

  • This track is regal, it will be the Velvet Underground far in the future when cds are regarded as vinyl. Synthetic heroin injections and nodding out in shanty ghetto slums, all the while the dirty skies of the city are penetrated by the setting sun.A glimpse of hope in the terminal existence of humankind.

  • Amazing song

  • what a nice video, I love to perceive the hand movements
