Id love to see a V8 super car race live. If you have never seen a Nascar Race live then your in for a humbling experience. If you making judgements based on what you've seen on tv your opinion doesn't matter much. Nascar could use some more tracks like the v8 super car series :D
First off, I love the V8 Supercar series, Nascar could learn a lot from this series. I'm not completely sold on D.W. as commentator, and yes...I for one am over the Boogity business, I for one, have followed this series since '04...discovered it in the 'off season' of Nascar and was instantly a fan. Finally, "familiarity breeds contempt" I prefer the regular commentators myself, Mike Joy gets kudos as he IS a well rounded racing guy.
@hottunes007 ONE HUNDRED PERCENT ON THE MONEY!!! Septic Tanks (Yanks) would drive anyone mad with that accent - and they have ZERO idea what they are talking about. I found out the other day that when Mad Max was released in the US, they also cut out the Aussie Accents. What a load of..... Imagine if we got some American movie and changed all the accents to Australian? Maybe someone should.
apperently these 2 guys r the best in nascar, n this dude always says that phrase, even the yanks hate it, id luv to see the whole commenetery of them thou, just to hear what they have to say about our great race.
I'd just like to say that the vocal minority don't represent all us Australians. I'd love to see the final 5 laps from the Speed coverage, I didn't get to see it. Cheers!
One thing the Aussies may not know well is Mike Joy is a former club racer who is a partner in the Sunoco Racing Fuel distributor in parts of the Northeast United States, where Coca-Cola Bottling of Northern New England distributes their products. CCNNE is owned by Kirin, which owns XXXX.
By some of the comments Americans are as annoyed with their commentators as we Aussies are with ours! I'd much rather listen to the Americans then Matt White and Neil Crompton's rubbish. Give V8 coverage to Ten
@bawes13 Ok, maybe Matt White should stick to just being the presenter but Crompton and Skaife commentating is fantastic, they know what they're talkin about based on experience. Bring Aaron Noonan into the commentary team, he knows his stuff too. Channel Ten did no better or worse than Seven, so i say big thumbs up to Seven and the whole crew for producing a dam good weekend of racing.
Its interesting to hear what the Americans have to say about V8's and Bathurst, Would like to watch the whole thing to see what sort of things they discuss/explain for the US viewers
@jamesloganarcher: Leigh Diffey (hope I got that right) commentated on the NASCAR Nationwide event at Watkins Glen this year. I thought it was kinda' cool to hear an Aussie comment on the the American race.
@cl604driver Speed's workload is reduced at the back half of the season, so the "A" crew (Joy, Waltrip, Byrnes) is off. In those cases, if they're paired with Speed-broadcast series (Rick Allen - Truck, Leigh Diffey - Grand-Am), they use the lead broadcasters from their series to call Nationwide or Cup practice and qualifying. There was a Grand-Am DP/GT race that evening at Watkins Glen, so Speed just assigned him for that event.

I love DW. He is not just a good driver, but he's a real motor's enthusiast, and he's of course the best commentator for Fox. I miss him!

Look I see a few Aussies sledging the US commentary, but if it gets our race on US TV, I'm all for it!

@fapsqpz: Yeah, he should have left the boogity back in the States. Or better yet, at home since most of us here think it's awkward at any time.
