People, it would take decades of chain smoking for your voice to actually be affected by smoking. His voice probably should sound like that if he had a show where there was a lot of screaming involved, or just a general strain on the vocal chords to begin with. I don't know how many cigarettes he smokes and how often, but it will take years for their to be any obvious side affects. My dad smokes two packs a day, but his voice hasn't been affected.
