It depends on whet you are going to be running. If it is open wheel like an E-Maxx, it isn't to bad filling up with sand. If it is a closed wheel like a Slash, I wouldn't. I have run my Slash 2x4 and it wasn't even worth taking, no traction. Ive also run my 4x4 Slash. It does a lot better but fills up with sand almost immediately. That causes excessive weight and makes the motor overheat very quickly.
As far as cleaning it, if it is a waterproof setup, I just use a hose. But when I get home I completely dismantle the entire truck. I mean everything. I rebuild the diff's, the tranny, shocks, everything. I seriously take every screw out and clean every piece. I also clean and or replace the bearings if needed. It is a lot of work believe me, almost not worth it. I will only be taking one truck next beach trip, only problem is deciding which one to take. Have fun.
@mempey and where i can found it and give me an idea for slow mo and how about jetlag did you know what program did he use and when come a new rc film ????
nice dude i go to to hilton head island right off the cost of south carolina i want to take y rc there i cant take the all because there not enough room i want to take my 1/16 e revo and my brushless e savage
No it is my Slash 4x4. I don't know much about the 1/16th slash except that a few people I know don't really like it that much. I love my E-Revo 1/16th.
You can't really compare them. A summit is faster, an Axial is slower, but there are many other differences. Axial's are crawlers, and yes the Summit will kind of crawl, but not very well. It is more for bashing and driving over light obsticals.
hey man my uncle has a house on pawleys island! this makes me wanna take my slash 4x4 there, maybe il see you there next summer! does it not eat up your rc's?
Sick video!!! people forgot about bashing, the want to be on the track all day long. I thing bashing is where everybody start this hobby. Thanks you to bring it back!!!!
awesome vid mempey! hahah when the guitar and drums started at 1st i thought it might have been jetlag on guitar and u on drums! hahaa, it sounded just like the style jetlag was playing on that sony vegas light test guitar vid LOL
damn dude, awesome video and I am really jealous of the area you have to run all your cars at =(....I really want some sand around here. And gesh that's gonna take some time to get all those clean.
looks so fun ive not had much time to mess with all mine been working so much!
Love the jeep ive got a few scale crawlers myself, im working on new scale crawler now(late nites and saturdays when i can) Building a scale Chevrolet M1009 miltary blazer, and i hope to make one of my emaxxs a awesome machine soon. I gotta get to filming my cars man this looks fun lol
Another great vid mempey, How is the summit on 4s?, I just installed a rx8 2250 combo but all my al-cheapo lipos died!, Im ordering 4x 5800mah 2s and 2x5000mah 3s. Do you think 6s will be overkill?, I'll probably get some t-maxx tires for the speed. Keep up the good work and please post more mmm summit vids!
I also just came back from a vacation from maryland. Brought my slash. It was great fun, but the transmition needed cleaning like crazy! Great Vid keep it up.
Not really, sand gets in everywhere no matter what you do. It is a must for them to be waterproof so you can hose them off after you are done, if not take all of the electronics off of the model and then rinse them off. I ALWAYS take them apart before running them when I get home. All moving parts, gears, drive trains, diffs, shocks, and axles. Everything needs to be cleaned and lubed so it doesn't destroy anything. If sand stays in anything it will wear it out.
this is some of your best work thumbs way up!!!! and favorited!!!!!!!!!!!!! great job dude btw were is your e maxx i havent seen it in a while did you sell it?
I'm still watching it (again) lol. The climbing sequences with the jeep and then stopping on top of the rock ledge looks like a jeep commercial. :) Awesome!
Thanks man, it was a ton of fun making the video. I thought it would be cool to show off the Jeep body like that. Glad you liked it. Only in a Jeep, you know what I mean. lol.
That was kick-ass buddy! Really nice footage!! Loved the music/video sync too. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun and I love the new bodies! Killer vid!!
No I use Adobe Premiere Pro. I shot with my GoPro HD Hero at 60 fps, and the really slow stuff was shot with my Casio EX-F1 at 300 fps. I've never used Vegas.

will sand hurt it?
KnexThrillsmaker 1 year ago
If it gets in the gears it could. After you run in the sand, make sure you get the sand out of all the moving parts.
mempey 1 year ago
@mempey how do u even clean it
smashNgrab5953 1 year ago
Compressed air if it isn't waterproof, or a water hose with light water pressure if it is waterproof.

I use a GoPro HD Hero
