Why do people always say that WTF taekwondo IS NOT Taekwondo but a sport? I train in a WTF school (been in it for 5 weeks) and 5 lessons I've been to. You cannot believe HOW MUCH self defense things that i can use in real life situations I learnt in those 5 lessons. Trust me, WTF sparring is a sport, WTF is not. Period.

@taekwondofan31415 actually, When wtf decided they wanted to join the olympic games, they chagend from taekwondo to sport taekwondo. the self defense uve done in ur 5 weeks are ITF. The fact that theyre taught together is one thing, but the self defense part is ITF

taekwondofan31415 is right. WTF sparring is sport oriented but those moves can also be used in fights, we also learn punches. Plus, south Korean bodyguards are using Taekwondo as well as the SK army.

@busabunimalfredo sadly he probably does have a blackbelt most schools these days promote people just to keep them there iv been training for 9 years and got my bb 2 years ago and iv sparred people with much higher ranks and easily beaten them
