  • Amtrak needs to spread electrification to the rest of the country, not just the Northeast.

  • Bad news for ya. Amtrak is now using the french made HHP-8. The AEM-7 is from Sweden. New Jersey is now using the ALP-46, which is made in Germany. There are no new American made electric locomotives.

  • the aem-7 had its normal k5la but it has its original bell. the AEm-7AC's have electronic bells
