But, in fact, Bethlehem was the home of David. So, a prophecy regarding the House of David would naturally reference that town. Bear in mind that the NT claims Jesus was descended of the House of David, but offers no evidence to support that assertion. Jewish biblical scholars find this assertion absurd. Nowhere in the OT is Jesus foretold.

But, in fact, Bethlehem was the home of David. So, a prophecy regarding the House of David would naturally reference that town. Bear in mind that the NT claims Jesus was descended of the House of David, but offers no evidence to support that assertion. Jewish biblical scholars find this assertion absurd. Nowhere in the OT is Jesus foretold.

There's an interesting video that the Iranian government have been promoting throughout the Middle East about this so called Mahdi. Even the alegorical descriptions of the Mahdi fit perfectly to the one that it's written in Revelations (the one who rides in a white horse).

They did this so christians and pagans would worship on the same days, in an attempt to blend the religions into something that everyone could agree on.This was so rome could claim religious authority.
