@DCooper720 if you knew how auto tune worked you'd know that you have to set it at a certain scale, so the note in the scale closest to the note he is hitting will replace the actual notes produced, leaving a lot of room for the auto tune to "automatically tune" his voice to the wrong note. brush up on your recording knowledge before you attempt to insult an amazing musician with loads of talent.

@iloverocknroll47 If you have worked with recording you can tell. Auto tune runs simultaneously with the vocal track as a phase vocoder to keep the pitch in key. In most cases, you really can't hear the auto tune. Practically, every recording artist uses auto tune in the studio. In this video, the auto tune is really prominent. Most people relate auto tune to just being a rap thing which is ridiculous. 2:32 - 2:34 clearly shows auto tune

The problem is that mot people relate auto tune to the robotic voices that rappers use. That is auto tune but it is cranked up extremely high. In this video, auto tune is present but it only masks up small things. Without the auto tune, Tom would still sound great.

Oh, I see now. When I hear or read "auto-tune", I think of T-Pain. I just read recently that you can set the correction time. For example, T-Pain's is set very slow so you can hear the correction very well as it's happening. But in Tom's case, it's set very quick. Anyways, I see now. Thank you.

On those software, you don't set the auto tune to certain speeds but rather levels in accordance to the desired key. In this recording, the auto tune levels are set low and aren't too prominent while artists like T-Pain have auto tune set high where the vocal decoder is prominent and changes every pitch of their voice (robot voice).

you can use autotune on anything and everything at any and all points during the song, mostly for instruments. it's a dbx666 vocal pitch corrector, your program the key the song is in and it rounds it off to the nearest note if it's off, like a guitar tuner but it corrects itself, which is why it sounds a little fake and electronic
