OH wow.. i just thought of something. It DOES look like a pothole but it wasnt in the path of the tire... it was where the muffler would be! I saw on Mythbusters when they tried to flip a car using a pothole and driveshaft - it didnt work well but it made the back end jump up. It looks like the muffler jammed up under the rear causing it to bounce and the driver panic'd wiping out... wish the quality was better.. something red falls out of the car before the bus hits it after it hits rail.

Very sad indeed. For both the bus driver and the people in the car. The bus hit the roof and most likelycrushed it in after the car was already badly smashed to bits off the rail.

3 seconds approx from blown tire to probable death. You just never know when you won't be home ever again...

I can see very clear that the car hit something.There is something black on the road and the car hit it...It could happent to everyone...It was'nt any tire that blew off...I think that o could not help by any way!!!I would cry for a week!!!

The Driver was indeed observant, he swerved to the left just as soon as he saw trouble.

And, like a train, there is a lot of mass to try and stop, the driver needs to make a choice in this case, try and steer out of the way, nearly always the best option, or brake as hard as possible, but limit steering.

Remember that this driver is trying to do his best based on what he saw at that moment. notice that the car in the right lane just makes it, clear indication that the bus was slowing.

By all appearances his tire blow off after hitting a pothole. If you pause the video at 0:14 you will see the pothole in front of the car right in the middle lane. Observe the car traveling on the very left side of the middle lane, and damaging his rear passenger tire.

The bus driver could have avoid the impact would have been more observant to his traffic surroundings. He should have brake hard at 0:16 when the small car first bounced up and started to veer right.

I don't think the driver in that car survived...as the car flipped over the bus hit the roof of the car, probably smashing and ending their life. Also the reaction of the guy who checks on them seems to point that way too
