@des696969 i know but chewbacca and han spent the whole movie switching levers and reversing the polarity of stuff. all i'm saying is that han, lando, and chewie all missed that door that could activate the hyperdrive. i bet the empire knew about the door. they deactivated it lol

@randomedb100 it was broken at first, but when lando's men fixed it, the empire deactivated it so they wouldn't be able to go into lightspeed. Thinking it was still broken nobody knew what to do in their panic. But R2D2 is boss and used his robot patience he learned from watching Yoda and Luke and figured out the real problem. This movie is actually quite intuitive if looked at the right way. George Lucas in my opinion did this on purpose to satisfy both average and competent movie goers. Good.
