  • I practice with kubotan blocks with my robot arms that punch at real punch speeds with no telegraph. You have to be fast to block and having your hands not already in a guard position does not leave time to block a punch. Only fools punch when their opponent is out of range, yet about all demo "fights" show blocks out of punch range and not at real speeds. All I'm saying is have your hands in a guard position to begin with and block from that position.

  • With all due respect, this man never had a real fight or played randori in a dojo which is clearly visable in this poor demo.

  • why cant the girl have the kubaton?

  • to the haters..this is a demo

  • hater's love to bad mouth what do they know about self-defense??

  • Fuck that pocket stick if you want real protection carry on you at all times the Cold Steel Rajah 2!

  • @PEREZCHOOCH thats not proper self defence cos when he sees it hes gonna shit and high-tail it!

  • @DrShakalu619 LOL

  • @PEREZCHOOCH soryr, but guns and knives aren't allowed in some place. You can carry a Kubotan pen pretty much anywhere.

  • Well, only a stupid fighter would leave his arms extended long enough to be caught with a strike, anyone with "proper" boxing background cannot be caught in the arms. Even if the arms are manipulated, other arm, elbows, knees, feet, head, shoulder, can be used as a weapon, it's best to strike at critical areas to disable right away, face, neck, genitals, no need to parry, if you did, use a jkd or wing chun technique of simultaneous block and strike.

  • @nephilim2051 Its another lesson on how to deal with a good boxer - fyi using pretty much the same techniques, these are basics.

Also look at the zoning - the idea is to always be aware of the opponents other weapons and either monitor or stay away from them.

Btw - kali had the simultaneous block and strike years before jkd.

  • ok...1) who is going to carry something that big around with them? 2) if you're carrying a kubaton which is more practical, it would be extremely difficult to hit someone in their punching arm. especially someone that is using it for basic selfe defense and not a trained martial artist.

  • the girl isnt in range... if he doe nothing se will not hitt him.

and you can say: its a demonstration buth if you change the range its a real other thing than..

srry for bad neglish i hope you understnad me

  • cleaver , remove the jack ass---Zanawack, hes trying to advertise his lame Key ring by naming it in your video post!!!,then after you remove him, go to his site and look at his rediculous item.

  • Nice job, good hands, pleasure to see a Martial Art Teacher with anatomical knowledge as well as the ability to apply Waza. References to ganglion and bone structure locations to target very well explained. Fights are close range events making long range weapons usually ineffective. Short stick weapons have been around for thousands of years because of one fact: they work.

    Bets regards,

    SJG

  • Good info but why does she throw punches that always fall short of the target? There is no way the punch will come close and all that does is give both parties poor training and facilitate the Gunting Myth. Guntings look better than they are in real life as they tend not to be effective in real fights.

  • BIC WIDE-BODY PENS - Triangular shape is very strong. Perfect length. Legal in concealed weapon states. Just don't brag to cops. Love them.

  • I have owned one of these for alost 2 years now, and carry it on my keychain. Never had to use it, but when we pratice with them in class they are very painful and effective

  • If you like the kubaton you will love the sharp shooter. LOOK AT THE CLIP ON YOU TUBE MASTER MORAN'S SHARP SHOOTER KEYCHAIN. IT IS REAL COOL!!

  • wat is a kubaton?

  • a 6 or 7 inch long stick that you can use to apply pressure, manipulating pressure points, i.e tendons

  • The kubaton can be used in more ways than just an impact weapon. If someone grabs you in a bear hug use the end of the baton to drive it inot the delicate bones on the back of the hand. If its a choke hold same thing but you drive in inot the elbow area. If someone grabs the front of you clothing wrap it around the wrist bone and twist. If your kubaton is on your keys use the baton as a handle and thrash the keys violently about the eyes and face.

  • It is nearly a limitless weapon on how it can be used, that and it simplicity make it a very versatile weapon.

  • Yeah and I read a story about Paxton Quigley. She is a female firearms instructor and she was in an elivator and a man noticed her kubaton. He asked in a cocky way " You a cop". She said "Im not a cop. but I have been trained by the police". He did not say anything after that. It is a great deterrent

  • what ever m-a u do its important to remeber in a real life situation you dont no what ya up agens so use what ever u can to get an advantage u can use a pen a comb a torch...works the same as a kubotan.... also remeber it is most likely u will get hit or injered so be properd after all no traing will garentie u a win but it will help...

  • it's escrima punjo stuff

  • just bought one of these

  • Hmmm, time to find a sparring partner and train... (and yes, I am only a begginer with a kubotan)
