Google the State of Mississippi Secession Document, and read it if you have the balls for it. Then you'll see what the original Confederates thought secession was REALLY about. (I bet you haven't even read it.) Go on. Read it. It's one page of the most god-awful stuff I've ever laid eyes on. Lincoln HAD to stop it. Read it and see. It'll make your mouth hang open. Seriously.
@longfootbuddy Here we go, another wanna-be Confederate. Don't tell me, the South will rise again. It's been 146 years, so rise already, or can't you get it up?
@longfootbuddy Let me guess: "It's all a big conspiracy," right? You could always resign your present position in the Klan. That way you could spend more time hating your family.
@pmjvlad yes fool, theyve conspired to brainwash you fools into believing lies, and not using reason...i know your stupid tactics of claiming anyone that objects to the tyranny of the u.s. government, is a racist kkk member that hates all blacks...but youre wrong, stupid, and clearly brainwashed because youre so naive
@longfootbuddy Typical far-right self-righteous drivel. Everyone else is totally wrong about everything, but only you know all the truth. That's how kindergarteners think.
@pmjvlad no fool, i dont think everyone else is wrong about everything..just idiots like you...you are the one that spews bullshit and then pretends youre in the right...you are the dipshit that thinks its great that lincoln sent almost a million americans to their death, rather then letting the southerners have independence from a tyrant government...you, my stupid friend, are the kindergartener that believes the bullshit youve been taught.. no wonder you like daddy government, retard
Check out my video. If you don't believe in secession, then you believe in slavery, for you are for enslaving people to a government that they want no part of:
"I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races,...and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races...while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race."
@norazlinc : I don't know the exact distance, but it wasn't far. I've visited the Ford Thater and have walked across to the "Peterson House". Not very far at all.
Thankyou kc6rcy for posting this video. You did the world a great service by posting the video of where President Lincoln died. I could just imagine him in the room moments before he died. I heard he was so tall that they put his feet through the spaces between the wooden rails at the foot of the bed. It's sad to see how small the room really is for such an icon to die in. I will never forget this video. May he rest in peace.
Actually, the people looking after Lincoln wanted him to die in that room. They knew that Lincoln could not survive a trip to the hospital with the bumpy roads of those days due to his severe bullet wound. So, they simply took him across the street to the Peterson House because it would be a more pleasant place to die than Ford's Theatre. Of course, you are right that it was not a preferable place for him to die. It is too bad.

Lincoln was shot in Ford's theater and did not die there. He died in this house the next morning. Do your research.

he was carried there by several soldiers at the direction of an Army surgeon who happened to be in Ford's theater to see the play.

@kc6rzy Correct. He died at 7:22 the next morning, in what's called the "Peterson House", kitty-corner from Fords' Theater. I've been there.
