  • Ratty-ater......NY Dialect for real.

  • Need to make more of these please. I have watched every one and they are insightful and interesting

  • why are all the videos out of sync with the audio?

  • He's speakin the truth!!! i just bought REDMAN's new album and is stays in my IPOD. I need the artist of my time to put out more records in our style of music. LIL wayne is good but that's my daughters hiphop. Sadat X said the same.

  • Adult contemporary music..I agree because I miss that era of hiphop also

  • They went to my alma mater Shaw University..and I remember them making video on campus in 90's.

  • I'm a funky child, Alan good link true Hip Hop, red alert yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh

  • the Rad DEE Ator, classic. Funky child is the shyt,

  • The thing that I remember the most about this album back then was that they made a video for at least 7 songs off the album...back then, nobody did that. You might get three videos from an album but the lord just kept on making videos.

  • It's crazy that they get more love in Europe than they do over here in the US and here hip hop was originated here. What does that say about the US? You got alot of non-appreciative a-holes here. It's all good though because they can go oversea and get that overseas money. Money don't discriminate, get it wherever you can.

  • Please come back and do one more album.... for te love of God, do us hip hop heads that favor! And for the 4 dudes that disliked this video, continue to suck Lil Wayne's dick.

Def dont see eye to eye with most people my age, Im moving to oakland to see if i can find people like ones being portrait in this series of videos

  • i always liked doitall more than mr funky

  • 4:30-5:45

ACHH....this is the future....don't sleep people.

  • Man this series is incredible! Thanks for posting. I've been wondering the same thing as a lot of the other cats on here. Its almost uncool to be rapping when you're over 35 but what about all the fans that have been listening since the 80's or even earlier?! Are we really supposed to be feeling underage rappers like Soldier Boy? We need some old man rappers that we can relate to. Come on Rakim, come on Slick Rick, all you older cats need to keep producing!

  • I feel ya. This was my music too. But we do have to recognize that this is "their" music (the new gen). BUT...you right......I listen to most of the new stuff and I have to scracth my head sometimes. I have sattelite radio to catch some of the new and old and I spend more time on the old school station than on some of this new stuff. Keep it up D-Nice....and all my old school pioneers...

  • HOUSE OF HITS. Take it, put your name on it. $ Low Cheque.

    KDEF DID ALL THAT WORK!!

Cheif Rocka around the world and then some.

    Thankyou.

  • Man...I just turned 39 and I can remember growing up on this. We do need adult contemporary HIP-HOP.

  • George clinton and them are from Plainfield ,New Jerz the land of funk.

  • Man I ran up on this series by accident and I'm just glad to hear these guys and girls tell their stories on the old days of hip hop. Thanks for posting 'cause I'm oldschool too.

  • Adult Cotempary Hip Hop!!! Now thats what I'm talkin about! I'm bout to hit the 30 yr old mark next month, and I honestly can't relate to what these youngians are thumpin these days!!!

  • I can relate to what you said. Im about to hit 30 this year too

  • You're not getting older young brother, you're getting better!!!

  • man o man please somebody tell me the dates and locations of these shows!!!!!!! ill travel for that lineup!! wow!

  • This is hip hop.... fuck all this new shit, im 22 and i spit, and im all about the golden era of hip hop.

Big ups all you hip hop heads

  • @city0fj me to man fasho

  • Yeah the lords were sick! I am glad a younget dude like you got into the golden age, it's timeless.

  • you can tal about whites kids all you want..but yo they in europe and love real hip hop these black young niggas most in tha south dont know shit about hip hop , all they see is b.e.t and mtv and think that lil wanye envented hip hop....

  • i agree to a certain extent. there aint many young niggas anywhere in the states that really know what hip hop is. makes me sad.

  • @thesouthrapsucks yo bro regardless of race, morons listens to anything these days, i mean look at the music scene now, its all saturated with whack artist and people are so ignorant they'll listen to anything, most real music died years ago and very few of it remains underground, but back to the point, but i see where you are coming from with race and what rap used to be at first so i can respect that, but everything is mainstream and corporate, there's no soul in the music anymore man :/

  • @thesouthrapsucks im white and from the whitest place in all out of europe (germany) :D but the only one i know (who doesnt rap himself) who listens to the real hip hop is a thight pants wearing "nerd" :D

  • @thesouthrapsucks some of the best m.c's ive been privileged to see in action not on stage or on t.v. but at partys, school, work, everyday life ...have been white boys or foreigners !! lol str8 up hip hop has no color, nationality or age limit its universal!!! some of the best graffiti artist have been latino or white!! man i can go on forever hip hop is like the mother of all type of new music, clothing trends, slang, shit its sad to say corporations exploit 4 profit and mainstream dat garbage

  • @thesouthrapsucks thats VERY simple minded. "these young black niggas" in the US are just like you, most know their cultural; theirs hip hop and roots> they have just moved onto something else. I dont like what they have moved onto but doesnt mean they are ignorant>> i think its ignorant every tom, dick and harry with a computer, or keyboard or mpc sampling; thinking they are "producers" when they are exactly the same as a cave man beating a club against a wall, they know nothing of the art

  • @TitanHB I must agree and disagree, Your right we shouldn't judge others because of their musical preference But most Young black brothas Dnt kno anything about what hiphop's lineage even is people actually think taking a tekno beat slowing it dwn then rapping over it is sampling......Lol or that kanye is the only musician in the game who samples.

  • @thesouthrapsucks word life.

  • @thesouthrapsucks word life.

  • @thesouthrapsucks You aint lying. Rappers pack 20,000 people overseas. Those white kids in Germany looooooove Hip hop.

  • @thesouthrapsucks You aint lying. Rappers pack 20,000 people overseas. Those white kids in Germany looooooove real Hip hop.Onyx and Jeru Da Damaja still be getting it in over there.

  • Same as Habib24202 yo, everytime i play "Flow on" and "Sleep for dinner" it brings me wayyyy back to the "good old dayz" hahaha

  • I still love hip-hop. Late 80's - 90's was the time.

  • Good look D! Love the way you put the childrens music in the background! Got a 14 year old son and the music he listens to now could never touch the music i grew up to. Marley Marl and the Lords was a perfect combination! The 90's was best time of my life when it came to real music!

  • Nice look. What type of cameras did you use to shoot this?

  • nerd :P

  • MAN I MISS HIP HOP!!!!

  • He is right, We are all older now. Middle aged!!!! I'm pushin 40, have kids, but the Hip Hop is still in me. I Djayed in the clubs from '93 til 2002. took 6 years off, but the music was callin me. Rockin a party today is nothing like it used to be. Im always playin the older music like Chief Rocka cuz it's the best stuff! Todays music has nothing for me.............sigh. Dj Cas. Lawrence, Kansas

  • ... Imma thumb up ya comment just for that. 'Nuff Respect Due To All The Middle Aged Headz.

  • Thanks man. I was wrong with my comment tho. There is still Hip Hop out there. U just have to know where to look. I found a lot on the internet. Even made some videos of my own. Cas.

  • Hey, no one considers age when it comes to jazz, classical, or whatever. As far as I'm concerned Hip Hop needs the wisdom and experience us late 30's bring. We have to take back control of the music and teach the younger ones the art form and put albums out. Lots of younger listeners love the True Hip Hop once they are exposed to it. I'm like you, 36 but cant get hip hop out my system. It's part of our molecular structure.

  • I hear u. I hear u loud and clear!

  • I dont hear you... your too old... retire brother... u can never relate to the youth movement again (which is what good music is). Im sure that when you were young, retired old krusty rock lovers were abusing your de la soul... now.. ur doin the same

  • 1. I dont get what you mean by "abusing your De la soul...now..ur doing the same." Sounds stupid. 2. What movement? I teach little kids about about hip hop history, culture, and art, and the power of self expression. What do you teach? Since you know nothing about what I do or how I do it, keep your hate to yourself. I dont hate on the youth, I open thier eyes to things and they appreciate it. What do you contribute to hip hop? Anything? Or are you the abuser?

  • what do i teach? i teach little kids how to cum online an abuse youtube users

  • Here's the thing.

You can't tell someone's ears what to listen to.

I don't care for this new music, but my grandmother didn't care for my LL when I was small.

As MJAQUIERY says, I agree with him/her on that to an extent. Not the retire, but everyone's ears aren't the same. Some listen to rap and says it's noise.

I like the real pure stuff, but I can't take away music from the new ones, cause as MJ says, it's the "GOOD MUSIC" to them. You can't convince the ears otherwise

  • The Lords are professionals-I have their tapes,cd's and vinyl singles-and dvd--1993 was insane...

  • Great interview.

  • Nice... Could never get sick of this joint. sounded good then, sounds good now.

  • Lords of Underground are off the hook, shit best pieces for bboyin...

    Peace, bboyfly! =)

  • I played the hell out of their first tape, yeah I said tape! ...wicked series...bringing a tear to my eye..lol

  • I am about to cry! D-Nice, your series is no joke!!!! I represent the very late 30s professional crowd that saw hip hop grow when there was no blueprint to follow from. This should be in the movies!

  • i would definitely buy this if it was on DVD...hook me up...99 mins of interviews with some legends....

  • L.O.T.U.G,Real Live, and World Renown(could be missing someone). That was like the House of Hits crew.
