  • @cranster63 Try reaching Manfrotto via 'contact us' on their website. If what I know of them is correct they will not leave you unassisted. Sorry again for your troubles and hope you get this resolved. All my best

  • Cranster63, one other thing if I may. It could be that some dirt or fluid has got into the sliding mechanism. Shouldn't be as it is inverted but Manfrotto will readily have a look at it for you.

  • Sorry to hear of your issues Cranster63. I'm sure the unit you have is faulty. Manfrotto offer a 3yr warranty. Their service is legendary. Yuri referred to the detachable foot which could be better.

  • Thanks for your kind words Cranster63

The head I use is the Giottos 1302-652. It's a great fit on this monopod and looks the part too. The update of this is the 1312-652. Both come with a QR plate.

    Enjoy our photography!!

  • Hi, great video, I've been struggling to find the right monopod, but this looks like the one. Can you say what ball head model you use with it please. (I'm using a 7d with 100-400l). Thanks :-)

  • Is there any way to attach some legs to that monopod, so that it will stand up by itself?

  • @caycug1

Hi sorry for the delay as I was away.

I don't think so since the retractable legs as seen on the model 682 will not AFAIK attach to the Neotec. You could try asking Manfrotto if they make anything which may facilitate this. A feature such as this would be very useful alright.

  • Thanks for your acknowledgment. Enjoy your Neotec.

  • Thanks for this video, i ordered a Neotec.

  • Thanks for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the review.

The Neotec monopod has been one of my most successful photographic purchases. It's not perfect. For the traveller it's probably a little on the long side but the mechanism by which it operates makes up for everything.

  • Good video!

  • Thank You, for a cool and reasonably short video demonstration of this monopod, I am thinking of buying a monopod, and speed of deployment and retraction is a key issue for me. ;) And this seems like, "this is the shit" I have been looking for. ;) :)) Thanks again for Your time and effort, m8. ;)
