I used to live on the Indian River and we had a dock. Every morning the manatees would stop at the dock to say hello and look for a treat of Romane or Buttercrisp lettuce. I never gave them Iceburg because there is very little nutrition in it. They are very playful and curious creatures. And the babies always make you smile no matter what mood you are in.

And its the manatees fault when it runs into a boat my uncle lost about 20 grand in a boat broken by a manatee. Well the manatee died and my uncle brought it home and he ate it so he was fined. Thats stupid.

@nguy87 hunting an animal that is practically endangered is completely unnecessary. also, it is not the manatees' fault when they run into boats. they are often not able to hear when boats are coming because the frequency is not high enough for them to hear. the only part I think is valid is that your uncle was fined. if the manatee was already dead, that should not be a problem. unless there is something else I am unaware of

I was in the water feeding a wild manatee in Key Largo. That thing ate lots of cabbage and apples. After a while I noticed a foul stench and it was then that I noticed a steady stream of bubbles coming from about where I thought its butt would be. It then rolled over and it was then that I saw yellow crap coming out of its butt. It was then that I quickly got out of the water. I think I'm the only person that can say "a wild manatee farted in my face!"

OK...a couple clarifications. I KNOW that the manatee is not attacking the kayak....that was a poor attempt at humor on my part...guess some people missed that.

Also...this is actually mating behavior....NOT a manatee wanting their belly scratched. There were several manatees in the area. If you look at the beginning of the video you can see that there are actually 2 manatees around the kayaks.
