I just found some Ruby Falls on CDBaby (just do a search on CDBaby for "Ruby Falls") and am enjoying the samples. See what you think. They were based in NYC. I like the "flatness" of the vocals and the "indieness" (i.e. cleverness and rawness) of the sound.
Mary Timony's original group, Autoclave, is really worth checking out if you haven't heard their album.
I've never heard of Ruby Falls or Star Pimp, but I've definitely enjoy helium. We were together back in 2001, only to break up 4 months later. Thanks for the comments, I could send you some mp3's if you like.
I'll let you know if I find some Star Pimp. They're also defunct (originally from California somewhere) but, I thought, quite good.

Those two are very obscure bands of the 1990s.

This reminds me of groups like Helium, Ruby Falls, and Star Pimp--am I at all close in describing any of your influences?

Great song. Where is your group based and can you tell us more about it?
