  • At first I hated a lot of Slough Feg's songs, except for the songs on their Traveller album. But now that I listen to a lot of them again, these songs are awesome.

  • Toro! Toro!

  • The chorus is the same chord progression as Pachelbel's Canon in D.

WHAT HAS BEEN HEARD CAN NOT BE UNHEARD.

  • This band is one of the most underrated I know.

  • 2:05 to 4:14

could of been it's own song

  • @stupidppl2 could of

    of

  • Amazing vocals, guitar melodies and lyrics.

May be a classic in some years. ]:->

  • I know that if I listen to this song enough I'll lose interest but at this time I can't imagine how that could be! GREAT lyrics, they flow really well

  • On the Gateway OF Mars?!

  • I bet I've listened to this song 20 times in the past 48 hours.

  • yeah thank god for the xbox game brutal legend or i never would have found these guys they rock somethin fierce

  • @lumpy1337 Woah, these guys are in Brutal Legend? There's another reason for me to finally check that game out.

  • Sagat?

  • Yeah, the guy on the cover of this album is the protagonist of The Stars My Destination. When I heard this fucking great band had done a song about one of my favorite novels, I nearly flipped my lid!

  • This band's already classic....this kicks ass on so many levels. \m/

  • THE STARS BURNING BRIGHT

    IN THE FOREST OF NIGHT

BUT WHAT MORTAL HANDS AND EYES WILL I SEE THERE?

    I'M TRAPPED BEHIND BARS

    ON THE GATEWAY TO MARS

BUT WHEN ALL THE STARS EXPIRE, WILL I STILL BE HERE?

Every time I hear this chorus, I can't help but sing along. It's so fucking good.

  • The stars my destiny, deep space my dwelling place!

    Hail & Horns Metal Brother!

  • @IXIBathoryIXI read the book!

  • @IXIBathoryIXI

fuckin same here. i just adore this band i adore the lyrics and the way they use them. clear vocals > newschool growling

  • Great song by an underrated band.

  • Good One!

  • favorite slough feg song

  • Great poem turned into a song.

  • What is the Poem?

  • Only the first line or two of the chorus references a poem (The Tiger by William Blake). The song as a whole is about the sci-fi novel The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester, which he almost called Tiger Tiger. What that story has to do with tigers or the poem, well I won't spoil anything.

  • @Gruunldfuulk It wasn't a poem turned into a song. It is a song based off the novel The Stars my Destination, which featured said poem. But hey, no need to focus on specifics. It's still a kick ass song!

  • @Chaingunner The poem is by Robert Blake it's called Tyger! Tyger!

  • It's Gully Foyle!

  • Love this song!

  • Cool, easily my favorite on this album.
