Yes he says It costs the Government nothing! Complete nonsense! I wonder how much they developers paid in back hand payments to government officials. Saying that I would be looking to invest.
Too close to water may not be a good strategic position. It's easy for the ennemies to Attack. No big country apital city is located on coast except in Africa.
@bricemerci112 What are you talking about bro? First of all, this is not the capital city. Abuja is Nigeria's capital city. Also, this isn't ancient times where you had to have defense walls. haha So what do you mean by it's easy for an enemy to attack. And if that was the case, then it would be harder for an enemy to attack if it's on a coast. Also, there are plenty capitals on coasts. Tokyo, Japan and Stockholm, Sweden are both coastal capitals.
@str8OuttaNaptown30 These are military powers. These countries are also well decentralised. In African, there is hardly something we can call city. these are big village. Utopic development, unemplyment and bad infrastructure just to keep people sweating their blood for the benefit of few who enjoy their second lives in western countries.
@bricemerci112 WOW! I don't know where to begin. I can read between the lines and peep your angle, but I'm just going to go off of what you wrote. First, a city is defined by how developed or how structured it is. Also, this is Nigeria, where in some parts is badly structured, but is very well structure in a lot of parts. That's why this development is under place. This country is not a military power, so why would they focus their build off of military tactics? Also, this is not the capital.
@bricemerci112 You stated something about other countries in Africa, but this is about Nigeria, so why bring up other countries? Nigeria along with Ghana, is a country that is growing rapidly. With the help of their new governor, Babatunde Fashola, Lagos is becoming a very well organized city. That's why this development is able to take place. Just like any other country that was once ran poorly by corrupters, it will take time, but at this pace, they'll be there in a matter of no time.
@str8OuttaNaptown30 I understand. Very good response. But I think to better distribute wealth and have good control of the country, economic investment should be made inside the country otherwise those places are forgotten and never grow.
all this pictures unreal >>>>> Lagos need rebuilding > All the roads very bad > Trafic completely is very very bad > Go slow all time 24/7 >> electricity very bad >> clean drinking water not avilable>>> telephone network all time busy and bad>>>> there is no infrastructure at all >>> and crimes level is to high> > and many things others . the work you can do it in the developed countres withn one day here in lagos you need 15 day
..............costing the taxpayers nothing.........its being done by a private investor or investors.......o my god.....i hope to the freaking good god almighty that this is not another dumb fuck deal that ends with africans being fucked over in the end because that shit just sounded soooo damn shady to me... i hope for the best but the money needed for this project is damn sure more than what you would think.... billions upon billions....
@marauda777 : Do u have ears to listen to the people responsible for the project? Lagos state government is responsible for the facelift of it's state by the revenues generated by it's state and fedral capital. Now get smarter and stop asking foolish question
@omoibile You answered the question as if it were a statement, a false acusation of some sort. Now how foolish is that. The whole purpose of the questions is becuase I dont understand. You retaliated is if actually accused them of some sort of fraud. The questions are not foolish. You ask me if I have ears to listen to the people responsible. Like many other videos that I have watched on this, this one also did not do much to explain how this was going to be done, or possible. You have made that

@omoibile more clear than they have. The questions were questions because there were no answers being presented to them, and once again, I am not accusing them of anything! I am just looking for answers. Now, the money has to come from somewhere right? So where does this state and federal capital come from exactly?
He deserve an award and also Governor Fashola, my message to you is please seek for presidential election, I believe everyone of us in abroad will come home to vote for you and that grantee.May God protect you.
This is the blank canvas Nigeria needs to show example to the world and Nigeria that we are capabla and am sure after this other states in nigeria will follow this leadership. So please let us all support this!!
I liken this project to what we have in london around Tower bridge/london bridge/westminster/waterloo. Nice one but I hope it will not further demacate the rich and affluent from the poor
@cingle2004jp Nigerians DO NOT STOP! Keep going.. DONT STOP! keep developing. Save every money you can to build a better Nigeria. DO NOT STOP developing.

I think the Lagos Governor should be president of NIgeria for his hard work. Many Nigerian leaders are usually lazy with no thoughts of developments but I am impressed by this governor.
alexbaba11 stop writing trash on youtube and try to get your fact right! I hate it when people cant see with their naked eyes and use their big ears to hear what people are saying before writing their stupid comments!
The State Government and Private sector can spend there money where ever they deem it fit as long is its a means to an end. Fashola has vision that the federal government lacks. 7 Point agenda is a load of rubbish. Mrs. rebrand Nigeria needs to match her words with action. Mallam Sanusi Sanusi has vision. Ribadu and former FTC minister had vision. Northen Hausa fulani Oligarchy have division. IBB's vision was to make Nigeria corrupt. Ojukwu's vision was to create Biafara.
This will cause all state governments to measure up. Most people will think twice before they vote a party into government. PDP led Government are holding Nigeria back. If we wait for the federal government we wont move an iota. Fashola is doing good and all the major projects involve engaging people at the lower end of the ladder. Have you been out of Nigeria. You can see where the brain is in this country. I promise you that other state governments will follow suit. Vision will now come.....
The idea behind it is to make Lagos a mega city which in turn will foster development in other parts of Lagos. This is a state government and a private sector initiative. This project will make Lagos and Nigeria in general a capital magnet. This will in turn foster the development of Surulere, Yaba, Ikeja, Apapa, and other areas of Lagos and Other states of the federation. Other projects embarked on include the greening of Lagos. Dont you think Fashola did his homework? He is not like others.
Nigerians it seems we are trying to follow the Dubai model. Well look at Dubai now. Yes Lagos (Nigeria in general) is different and yes we have oil but this is a major deal here. The money used on this project should be going to other parts of Lagos, like Surulere, Yaba, Ikeja, Apapa, and other areas of Lagos. This project focuses on the wealthy without realising that the constitute the minority. What about the average man who live in mile 12 or Oworonshoki or Ajegunle? What about them?
...and what the hell you re talking about here??? so u recommend that the investors should put their money in Ajegunle instead of Victoria Island where they tend to make profit outta their investments? Why do we people always think backward like this? This is the kind of projects Lagos needs to claim its stands in the world...and stop thinking like them backwarders!!!
Again Nigerians I am not a pessimist. I am a realist. We need to ficus on improving what we a;ready have. We need to foster and develop a maintenance culture. Too often we build huge structures and do not maintain them. I pray that things work out but honestly how long will it take for this "Eko Atlantic City" to become another disaster. We also have not thought about when a new Federal and State government comes in. Then what? Will they be as focused on this project? Nigerians think!
So u want them investors to use their money to improve wat you claimed you already have? And if I may ask, what have we had already in Lagos that you want them to improve? The city was in a total mess b4 Fashola came in and the poor man is trying to change the face of the city with laudable projects and people like u re complaining....what else do u want???
Fellow Nigerians I am VERY concerned about this project. We seem to forget that we already have a metropolis, Lagos Island. Why don't we spend the $3.5billion (will be much more) on revitalizing it? I am a proud Nigerian but I do not think this project is what Lagos needs at all. We need to focus on improving our existing infrastructure rather than going to build a brand new city. What about the other parts of Lagos state? Will they now become second fiddle to this new city? Nigerians think!
You know what? Nigerians are thinkers but it's a pity we dont think like u. Did you even take your time to listen to the commissioner talking in this video clip? I think if u did you wouldnt be yarning trash about improving or revitalizing! This is a completely privately financed project...and the investors have the fukin right to choose where they think their project will bring dividends.
