Utah could have been as popular as Woody, Bob Dlyan or Snoop Doggy Dogg but he didnt whore out his songs. Johnny Cash begged him to let him record his songs but he would let anyone use his songs for profit. He was a crazy commy but one of my all time favorites

As far as I know Utah Phillips makes any Anarchist punk rock band in the world look like the Johnas Brothers. This guy is an absolute legend to me, he keeps the tradition of true American Folk music alive.

Punk is a trend that rooted from a select few people decided to say fuck you fuck society... In this day in age its a fashion statement guided my shitty music by people who have not one creative bone in there body... Anyways educate me...

Its an underground movement that has alot more to say then fuck you fuck society ,and fashion really has nothing to do with it.its a way of speaking against the ones who are ruining everything around us and defending what little human rights we still do have.... it doesn't matter what you choose to sound like shitty,or not, I do agree tho there is a lot of shitty music out there......Its definitely not for everyone.

@Turdburglerxx86 I'm very well educated, in fact I wish I didn't know some of the things I do know about society... So i don't know where your coming from when you say "educate yourdelf"? lol. My point was based on music more than it was politics, although those things do come together as whole sometimes. The movement your talking about is underground and will always be underground. It's def- not for everyone, folk music isn't for everyone either is politics... They just happen to coexist.

@spooninspoon Educate yourself! I have the answer. Look up the "Manifesto of the Communist Party". It's available free to read online. This is what Utah is talking about. This is real communism, not that Stalinist or Maoist violent rampage. This is what punks originally were after with labor movements, before they went totally commercial and impotent.
