@DJRDarien Indeed. Some of that stuff off to the left is challenging.
I've also noticed a new trail starting to get used a lot even further to the left...still not too visible unless you look for it. That reminds me of how Banshee Hill was about 10 years ago. We'll see what this new trail looks like in 10 years time! It's a little different every season, for sure.
@INSANETORQUEBOW Should not be a problem, as long as the sand is not too wet. I've seen quads get stuck in the ruts going up because the axle or swing arm gets high-centered. If you have paddles and the sand is not soaking wet, 2nd would not be a problem at all assuming your bike is running properly. I've seen a lot of other smaller stuff go up it no problem.
ya iv'e done some of those were you go down a hill turn around and punch it ya those are fun the first time i went to wichester there was this huge prymid shaped hill that i tried like 7000 times and only made it up like 1/2 way even some of the banshees were geting stuck my frend made it to the top on a 660 raptor. do you know were i can find a good map of all the really good spots in wichester
Yeah, it's pretty easy any more. Try going up the stuff to the left...a bit more of a challenge.
About 10 years ago, Banshee hill was pretty hard...you used ot have to duck under fallen trees (big ones) on the way up...right by where that little jog to the left is now.
There's a few other hill climbs on the 4th finger that are much more challenging...stuff you have to turn around at the bottom and come back up from. Give that a try...it's a blast.
i thinking of trying banshee hill on my dads suzuki 450 quad so im what asking is what gear do keep it in all the way up and im only 13 so dont think im stupid asking this
Banshee hill is easy! I was down there a few weeks back, I rode that hill on my kawi 650 brute force. Easy money. A sport quad can climb that hill with one arm behind it's back and a toothy grin all the way up. It looks much worse than it really is. Now do it morons@@@@
Best perspective on utube for Banshee Hill. I tried to explain the view from the top to some family members that came up and were on rentals (bleh). I'm forwarding this vid to them. Easter weather this year was brutal, maybe this will get them back up from CA.
Man I love Winchester bay. Way better than horsefall and the others. Me and my brother use to go all the time. But he's in afgan. Right now. But when he gets home I'll ask him to go ride. I'm trying to get a quad myself. He has a raptor 660 and a trx 450. Both are really fun to ride there. Stay safe people. Wear a helmet
Not really sure Foxracer303....they were on when I bought it. Simple aftermarket bars I think....nothing special.
I really like the dunes here in Oregon. Winchester Bay has some technical stuff for advanced riders, and calm flats for novices, so the whole family can enjoy the trip. We were just putting on this run...I think this was our first time on the sand that season, so taking it easy.
@lamestuser- the dunes in winchester are amazing. me and my dad go there all the time. i cant wait to go again. we ride for HOURS! have you been there recently
@TheYellowRaptor700r The name of the hill is "Banshee Hill"...not the quad I'm riding.

jdog3764 1 year ago
@jdog3764 um you could keep it flored in second and probably if you get a good run at it keep it in third
camaro69tyrfryr 1 year ago
@jdog3764 It will easily do it in 2nd, probably 3rd if you get enough speed at the start. Are you running paddle tires?
Hug the tank on the way up if it starts to wheelie a bit (unless you like that sort of thing).
lamestuser 1 year ago
@lamestuser yeah i run paddles

what mods does the banshee have?
justme21z 2 years ago
OK, it's called "Banshee Hill"...that's the name of the hill climb. :)
I'm riding a Raptor 700 with an exhaust and a chip (nothing special). My big Banshee is down with a tired motor, but it's a 410 JD Racing bike.
Debi is riding a stocker 89 banshee behind me up the hill...no mods other than a new stock motor.
You should come down some time...those dunes are a blast.

nice i really wanna ride there someday, what kind on handlebars are those, are they just curved?
foxracer303 2 years ago
Damn that sand rail sounded mean and beautiful
levi79 2 years ago
10 years ago maybe...now it's super-easy if you go up the main hill. There's a few side hills cut next to it now that are harder.
The only hard part on the original hill is when it rains...the sand can get rutted and if you don't have the clearance you will get stuck.
lamestuser 2 years ago
so is you girl in the banshee this time too or is it someone else ?

That's Debi, yes.
