Long live Armenia, whether it be Communist, Democratic Republic, whatever. They endured so much the past thousand years. Greetings from Rhode Island, USA. P.S. Screw Turkey
@TheArmo818, I never say Germans are Chinese you got that wrong. Besides Vietnamese and Chinese languages are very similar. Chinese and Vietnamese are racially the same. Origins of Vietnamese people are from Southern China. So get your facts rights about me never saying that Germans are Chinese. Vietnamese are Chinese , you stupid bastard!
@reyter2007 Do you even know what the lyrics are about? We are not a Soviet republic anymore. It's about Lenin, ''great'' Russia and the October revolution. It's not about the present-day Armenia in any way.
@reyter2007 I'm not saying that I don't support Communism as I hate capitalism, but the lyrics just don't have nothing to do with present-day Armenia.
@spinda29 Excuse me,but you know nothing about Armenia.Armenia's language has nothing in common with Persian's language... Read historical books before you talk again about Armenia...
@krasopaterasful Yes we do have alot of things in common but our language is Caucasian/indo-europeon and is at the roots of the Armenio greeco We have been enemys and allies gota remeber that we worked togeter to end the romans. were not enemys present date so settle down Armenia-Iran are good trading partners And speaking of HIstory We didn't come from Persians you must do some more research
@spinda29 Your a fucking moron. Armenia has nothing in common with Persians. I dont hate them, but I dont trust them. Read some history then you will know they are one of our biggest enemies. I speak Armenian, I live in Armenia, I heard Persians speak on youtube. I couldnt understand one fucking word. You think were Persians? Thats like saying Germans are Chinese!
@TheArmo818 Historians previously believed that Armenian language was Indo-Iranian because of the many Iranian loanwords in the language.
However, of course, this is not the case. Some vocabulary is shared (azat means the same thing in Persian: 'free'). Other than that, the languages are not related much.
@spinda29 yes you are incorrect persian brother and if this were to be true the Real Persians have perished Iran is now full of arabic turkic mixed not all but mostly
@spinda29 Armenians are directly descended from one of Noah's great-grandchildren, Hayk, whose family came down from the foothills of "Agri Dagi" (Mount Ararat). And it was from this Patriarch came the name (Hayastan) and the language (Hayastants'i). That's as close you can get to Proto-Indo-European tongue.
@NONSOV just out of curiosity i speak armenians so i can never tell, can u tell me what the armenian language sounds like. to me it sounds eastern european what do you think?
@NONSOV That's a fair way of putting it actually. The Proto Indo Europeans divided across Europe and the Middle East. Europeans got Latin and Germanic - which has now become languages like Italian, French, German and English. Eastern Europeans got Slavic, which is Russian etc. The Greeks got their own branch too, and so did the Persians/Indians.
In the language tree, Armenian is somewhere between Greeks and Persians.
@TigranTheMetz, Armenians have there own branch in the language family, I personally believe Armenian has a strong touch of Sanskrit-Aryan. but there are some reasonable hypothesis regarding the contact similarities between Ancient Greek, and Ancient Armenians languages. please view Graeco-Armeno-Aryan Hypothesis and or Graeco-Armenian Hypothesis. =] cheers
@CilicianElite Of course, that's what I meant by Armenia having its own language tree. It's just more related to Indo-Aryan and Greek branches than other IE branches.
@clipmaster30001 , its an Indo-European language, mainly of Aryan roots. to me.. it kind of sounds like english or latin gibber jabber.. im just sayin..
@clipmaster30001 We could say armenian is partly indo-european like Mushko-Phrygian Luwian and partly caucasian like Hurro-Urartian,I hope that helped you to figure it out lol.
@clipmaster30001 Heh, I'm Greek, and I think it sounds rather a lot like a cross between Greek and Turkish. Leaning on Greek more, but this is not a surprise as some linguists have hypothesised Greek and Armenian are quite closely linked among Indo-European languages!
How are you doing over there, Armenians? There are many people of Armenian descent in Greece, but they only retain their names. :-( You barely hear the language anymore, a great shame! :-( Still... WE ARE BROTHERS! REJOICE!
@johnanth , to be honest with you it has nothing to do with Turkish.. only western Armenian has Turkish words.. but formal Armenian has nothing to do with Turkish.. at a certain period of time Armenian and Greek dialects were very similar until Greeks adapted to Mycenae Greek, and Armenians stayed Sanskrit-Aryan.
@VishapKnight57 , why thank you.. the song itself was NOT of Communist origins, a famous Armenian composed it, another Armenian guy wrote the communist lyrics =]
@CilicianElite And that famous Armenian composer is the great A. Khatchaturian, yes. Also, I have to hand it for you for your username. Long live Cilicia!
I love that we are free now and not communist BUT I am thankful we once were. And I gotta say I like the Soviet national anthem more. Its more "you better not mess with us!!!" but the one we have now is just as beautiful :)
@helloprincessx3 , yeah the communist ways have there ups and downs.. but the origin of the song isn't Communist.. Aram Khachaturian composed it.. some Armo Communist wrote lyrics thats all.. lmao and yup.. long live Armenia.. =]
@CilicianElite I am happy we're not communist anymore but it did help us protect our country during those times I think that's one of the only ups for me that I could think of...other than that I must admit I don't know much about Armenia in the Soviet times. I recently watched videos of Armenia now and I am just so happy that we're coming so far as a country/people! I love Armenia and Armenians <3 Long l ive Armenia!!! :)

Keeping the lyrics as they are could be seen as a way the great Armenian people show their contempt for the present, barbarous order of things.
