  • Thumbs up if youre watching this because you want to become as good as ZachMG, Keshen8, forrestfirefilms etc.

  • now i know what i do wrong

  • what fps do you use?

  • What my problem is, when I move my minifigure's arm, it moves the whole body when I touch the arm because the arm is pretty hard to move and the feet can easily take off.

  • @platkin use glue

  • What you yous is monkey jam. He talks about it in another vid.

  • what you use to make this video?:)

  • what software do you use?

  • what movie maker do you have

  • can you check out my animation . because , i want a pro to see it and think about it .

ps : im 10 years old ( not lying or kidding ) . even if you see 17 on the channel .

  • What is the name of the software?

  • Thankz!!!! Those are really smooth. What fps (frames per second) do you use? (Like 12)

  • You really helped me! BUt do you know your video infinity squared? I don't know what it means with the earthquake.

  • thanks, this will help me for future animations

  • you have helped millions with the troubling obstacle of raising a minifigure's arm.

  • well there's only 14, 000 views so Actually only around 5000 people.

  • Yeah but I'm sure they would tell there Friends who would tell there frineds.

  • it takes longer if you use a camera :O

  • True Dat

  • that animation was so googd it owns!! XD

  • its good but you shoiuld take like 3 less pics for each cuz it looks to slow

  • man that's the worst thing to do! , you must take lots of pictures and make very tiny movement , if you run it in 15 FPS it will look smooth

  • if only dis made sence 2 me how do u take pics from da computer and how do u do it from a camera and put it to a be a vid with sstopmotion software it makes no sence

  • could you try using good grammar and spelling

  • thanks

  • pwicture lol good vids tough

  • dont be such a hater

  • I dont have enough lego to do an animation

  • please watch his video: size matters

  • i tryed it and i done it really good

  • I do this with 15 FPS but it's still choppy! I counted how many movements you made and I applied it to my animation but its still choppy! Please help!!

  • @Brickcellent: I'm not sure, but maybe you can try it with 10 or 12 FPS.

  • try taking 3 or 4 pics for ever movement. it will smooth it out.

  • use anasazi stop motion animator or normal stop motion animator and to edit just use windows movie maker, its simple!

  • Its ok, I fixed it ages ago.

  • LOL! "Why Am I here?" dude that was frikin funny! 5/5 xD

  • THANKS DUDE !!! but what for a camera did you take there ???

  • how many frames to make the head move l-->R and then back at the center?

  • you rock man and the tutorials are awsome pleas elook at my messages i have sent you 7

  • where did you get that camera and how much was it?

  • what fps do u use

  • 15fps

  • that looks like my keyboard! WOW! thats weird.

  • what was the an imation program that u used with your computer and does it work with an Olympic camera and a Vista computer? please respond!

  • awesome

  • i know how to make them flip, just not backwards

  • i don't know how to make a lego man flip can you do a tutorial on that?

  • u've inspired me 2 make more vids thnk u

  • cool

  • Nice annotation!

  • that end clip has no light flicker at all! Mine do have some which is down to my lamp. I'm going to buy a halogen lamp as it gives off very bright light at a cool temperature. would you recomend this?

  • i us a halogen lame but when you make you animtion make sure that your room light (light bulbs in you room) affect the lighting of the set. Also cover the lamp with some paper by getting printing or copy paper antd taping it to the lame it will reduce the glare off the bricks.

    Hope this helps! : )

  • WOW

  • That was great man, also i am really interested in how you make it so smooth when animated and keep the lighting looking the same on each of ur movies and that clip u showed! How do u do that?

  • kool

  • great lego films take great time

  • YOU ARE THE BEST

  • what camera do u primarily use?

  • zach mg..best animater i've ever seen, nathon wells.. 2nd best animator i've ever seen.

  • haha no ones first animation is gunna be that smooth! =)

  • will this be a really stop motion film

  • u know u can take pics of the lego moving like in the vids then put it on moving making software and then edit it

  • what is a good camra for stop motin?

  • Wow. That is super smooth...

  • Can you make another tutorial? My animation sucks :(

  • The next tutorial will be on animating walk cycles, actually.

  • dude! that is amazing! how do u get such high quality!

  • @NathanWells HEY how do you connected your cannon on your pc I think it's more easier with connection than manual

  • Great job :-) Thanks for the tip.

  • Yes, it is at 15 FPS, and I would say that my animation is so smooth because of lots of practice and lots of animating. Really, the only want to get a hang of it and animate very smoothly is to animate a lot. Just look at my Material Possessions and compare it to 30 Years: The Story of the Minifigure. There is a huge difference in animation smoothness (not to mention set design, image quality, etc)

  • practicing! That's realy what you have to do! Practice and Patience are the two P's of stop motion.

  • yeah, to be fair im not that bad at animating, but smoothness is a weak point.that my friend, was amazing.absoulutly amazing

  • Yes because he said 2 seconds of animation with 30 frames. So it must be 15 FPS.

  • Yes, it was 15 Frames Per Second.

  • I could have used this yesterday.

  • Frames per second 15 is the best the higher the FPS the more smooth it will be

  • Lompe koe, ga je nederlands praten tegen een iemand die engels praat.

    *facepalm*

  • Good explanation on how to animate, it's short and to the point.

  • Ditto!

  • Very smooth, you were animating at 15fps, correct?

Would you say your animation is so smooth because of that elusive theory called "timing"? I'm still working on my timing =D Very nice man, very nice.

  • this is great

  • nice thats so smooth

ilike the "why am i here" from the minifig

  • what program do you use to put them together?

  • check the other vids or the ones that will come up -.- , thats why he is doing this vids

  • yeh i subbed, just i can animate and stuff really good i just dont know what to put it together with :(

  • The actual animation software I use is Stop Motion Pro 5 SD. I edit my videos with Adobe Premiere Pro (CS2, CS3, and now CS4)

  • Really smooth, great tutorial, even though I already knew how to do that :( but still, awesome.

  • Again, nice job Nathan! I always need new animation tips.

  • lol ur monifig"Why am I here?" is funny

  • Wow that's so smooth!

  • sweet im gona try it thanks Nathan!

  • Awesome 5 stars! Btw, i really want to be able to shoot the picture straight to my computer, somehow I can't! It does have the cable for my camera to do so, but the program wont work or something :(

  • Me to! i have to import all of my pictures!

  • i know what u mean

  • What program do you have? You have to have a program like MonkeyJam to capture images from a webcame, and a program like Stop Motion Pro to capture images from a Canon Powershot.

  • omg u talked to me! well anyway, i dont use those programs. i just take pictures and i have it just fine

  • cool

  • What program do you use to make your stop-motion?

  • Stop Motion Pro 5 SD

  • Great !!!

  • thanks a bunch that really helped thanks

  • Oh man lol. Where do you get this music?

  • Even to me, this should help LOADS

  • Awesome Man!!! Your vids rock!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks, it helped A LOT!

  • Really good. It turned out fantastic!

  • great tutorial.

  • you ever think about getting a mac? much easier to do stopmotion on and even to edit.

  • There is plenty of decent Software about on Windows too.

  • A little ironic, since I uploaded this video from my MacBook Pro, which is also my primary computer for pretty much everything except game-playing and animating.

I use Stop Motion Pro, an excellent piece of animating software, which is only unfortunately available for PC. I am a firm believer in OS equality, and I think for something like stop motion, either platform works fine.

  • you tell him

  • another good tutorial but when are you going to make more films
