I've been to the very poor part in Bolivia, it was interesting to see, so sad how some of those people lived, Looks very familiar. Where exactly in Bolivia is this? I was in Charagua. It looks the same.
i was born in bolivia but moved to paraguay, when i was 9 months old, and i currently live in BC, Canada. Boy we sure move around alot. Im about to drink some mate right now. :)
@brojoghost My grandma was a born martens from my mom's side, my parents were both born in mexico then moved to bolivia and so on, and now we live in canada. lol
Plautdietsch is a low german dialect of the Mennonite peoples. My 75 yr old father speaks it but because it has virtually died out where we live (he is from kansas but lives in Idaho) he never speaks it anymore and cannot understand much of it anymore.
Enjoyed the images! i missed the Mennonites when we were in Bolivia. I've seen them in Belize, Chihuahua, & Missiouri. I come from German/Catholic (Hannover) extract....and don't understand a word that's being spoken.
@borderhopper Do you know where in Germany they still speak Low German? Is their dialect different from what is being spoken here? I am very curious if there are still some low German speaking Mennonites in Germany?
