The Internet was established with public investment and the Telcomms were allowed the privilege to add to the public network and they could charge access for bandwidth but not content as long as they obeyed net neutrality and the network remained free.

I don't agree with a lot of what Alex Jones says. I think he has far too much faith in the organizational skills of power-parasites. Corruption and conspiracy do exist, self-evidently, but not in some vast shadowy monolithic union and no all conspiracies are credible. That said, he has a very good point in this video.The internet is the freest, most democratic media ever created by far, and core-routing is its Achilles heel. The social impulse toward coercion augurs the end of net neutrality.

I suspect politicians don't fully understand how the Internet works in terms of redundancy and immunity to monopoly control. It's a distributed network. It can survive a nuclear attack, so no, Comcast can not get monopoly control. This is a solution looking for a problem. The Internet is the one thing working great these days because the government is not involved. WHY DOES THE GOVERNMENT WANT TO SCREW WITH THAT? They screwed up enough already. People are being duped by scare tactics.

The Internet was established with public investment and the Telcomms were allowed the privilege to add to the public network and they could charge access for bandwidth but not content as long as they obeyed net neutrality and the network remained free.
What they are trying to do is take over a public network after they invested in a portion of it. It's the same way public computer code that was developed with public funds and volunteer effort was taken over my microsoft.
