  • 3 memberships actually

level 1- only 1 video gets revenue

level 2 - all videos get revenue

level 3 - full membership (everything unlocked)

  • @NyxGray Yes, you are correct. I made this video before the level 2 membership.

  • Awesome info sis!

  • you seem very sweet. and this was very helpful. thank you for sharing!

  • @triciawearsboots Thanks. Glad you found the video helpful. Be sure to check out my YouTube tips playlist for more.

  • good info, thank you.

  • @CRAZYCOwBOYify You are welcomed!

  • Lots of helpful tips! Thanks!

  • @InSaNeTRiiCKx No problem. Glad to help.

  • Hey, what if we use music that has no copyright?

  • @wwwong211 In my opinion, royalty free music is the best way to go. It's not FREE but it does give the user the rights to use the content commercially.

  • @thecreativelady Thanks for the Reply :), but I have one more question.

I have 60,000 upload views and 600 subs. Do you think that is youtube partnership worthy, or try to improve more.Do you think im off by alot?

  • @wwwong211 Absolutely! YouTube Partnership is worth it. You spend time planning videos, recording videos, editing videos, using electricity or cell phone bandwidth to upload videos, I definitely think everyone should earn money from their effort. It does take time and good steady traffic to earn money but trust me, it can be done.

There is no magic formula for partnership. My Tip: Play by the rules, no strikes, be interactive & engaging with original content & regular uploads. It's possible.

  • Great information!! For real you laid this out better than anyone I have watched thus far. I didnt know any of this about rights and royalties. I would have to take all of my vids down LOL. I would realllllllly have to think about this one.

I'd think you were a lawyer LOL

  • @missthis897 Girl, after my Jury Duty experience I wanted to go to Law School! Right now, not so much. If you are interested in becoming partner, just start where you are and be aware of the process; use only original content. In due time, you'll have tons of videos and you won't miss the ones you end up taking down. Keep me posted.

  • Thanks a lot! I think i should delete my 1st video soon and re-upload the original without the copyright music. You can hear street noise, people talking and cars from the original video.

  • Thanks for your reply :) And thank you for your comment on my 1st travel video. Do you think I should delete the video that I have on my channel and re-upload the original one without the music? And yes, I tried to avoid filming strangers but it was impossible while filming landscape and buildings. Yes please could you email me where you got your royalty free music?

  • @jean704050 If you know the copyright owner, ask for permission. If not, you can ask the Copyright Office to conduct a search of its records. The copyright staff will search records for $165 for each hour (2 hour minimum). There is no fee if you search in person at the Copyright Office. copyright (dot) gov for more info. The cost to use the material will depend on the owner's fees. Hope this helps!

  • Hi, thanks very informative. If I plan to create a travel vlog which obviously I will be taking videos of different cities and that is impossible to avoid strangers being in the video while filming the streets. Will I still be eligible for youtube partnership? Thanks

  • @AnUmissableJourney Avoid filming people. I agree that it's almost unavoidable but A new YouTube account will be highly scrutinized. Try to shoot buildings, landscapes, etc. Especially avoid filming people that look like DON'T FILM ME. Use royalty free music so that when your channel gets popular, it doesn't hold you up. Check out other partnered travel channels and see how they handle this. They may be willing to give you some of their pointers. Good luck!

  • @TeamClaMePs3 If all you upload are video games, I'd venture to say the answer to YouTube partnership would be no. Original, copyright free content is required. But hey, you'll never know unless you try.

  • Great video. Thanks for sharing. Take care. :)

  • if you write on the description bar "no copyright infringement intended all rights to owners" will you be able to be a partner still? or do i have to take it down?

  • @diananilsson2000 As I understand, YouTube does not recognize "fair use". If the work is owned by someone else, you cannot earn revenue. What happens to work owned by another is subjective to how much the owner cracks down on usage. It may mean you have to take it down; you could get a strike against your account; or the owner earns revenue from the ads that are placed on the video and not you. But you never know. I've seen partners with the work of others but can't earn revenue on the video.

  • thanks for this, i got an invitation but most of my videos dont have 100% of my content :P

  • @Eyedias It is possible to earn revenue for one video but to be sure you earn the most revenue, it's best to have 100% original content. Don't be discouraged. . . work on creating original content.

  • thanks for the reply!

  • Amazing video! LIKE! You have a great voice to listen as well! I subbed!

  • excellent video,,thanks for sharing this information..

  • @lasheavibez Sure thing. I'm always happy to share information. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

  • Youre the 1st educational and sophisticated video on how to get subscribers and partnership. Everyone else is so superficial and ghetto. Thank you.

  • @ehabtouch Thank you. Glad you found the video helpful. I thought I needed to share my perspective. Be sure to check out the updated videos in the annotations too.

  • @thecreativelady Yes, ma'am!

  • Could you look at my channel and say if i need more or less stuff thanks

  • Thanks!! But I have a few questions, what if I have a few pictures in my videos that got like 10,000 views but I do not own those pictures? And it says my Google Adsense account has been disapproved? And I got one copyright strike and one account warning, am I still eligible to become a YouTube partner?? Please answer my questions, thanks!

  • @JanaScenester Thanks for your question. Of course, every scenario is different. But if the video contains copyrighted images, has copyright strikes, account warnings and Google has disabled your Adsense account, it could be difficult to become a YouTube Partner. I say this because of the relationship between YouTube and Google. It's like parents. Do something wrong and you best believe one will tell the other what you did. But again, you can work on your channel and who knows what can happen.

  • Comment removed

  • Very thorough girl, truly thorough, go girl. Not that I want to become partner, your professionalism is a great 'How To'...

  • @VickyVue Thank you so much. When I decided to do my channel, my way, everything else just flowed.

  • please subscribe! :)

  • thanks!!

  • Can you link partnerships with any other account? Message me back if anyone has the answer

  • @GMGBMG811 You can have more than one channel in the partnership program. When you apply for partnership, the applications asks if there are other channels that you want to add. It does not mean the channel will be "grandfathered" in but the option IS available. Now if you are asking if 2 partners can link their videos, I am not certain but doubt it. The alternative would be collaborative videos linking to each other's channels.

I hope this answers your question, Thanks.

  • @LaceUpYourShoes You're welcomed!!! Thanks for watching!

  • What about music that i make by my own and put them as a background music for my vlogs ? that's okay right ?

and btw when i click on Partners program it takes me to the main page why ?!

  • @MegaDailyVlogs Yes, you can use music that you create. You may have to prove ownership by documenting the software that you use to create it. Not sure why you get the main page. Have you recently applied for partnership?

  • @thecreativelady Oh good cuz my backgrounds track are written by me! well i searched alot about how to be a partner etc and i was trying to apply even today but i couldn't access!! i guess the partnership program arent available in my Country yet ! Gotta wait :)

  • @MegaDailyVlogs I never thought about that! I knew there were some country limitations. Hope they will soon include your region!

  • PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME :

I connected YouTube to Adsense and I don't know what to do now !!!

    Hmm , how I RE-send the Partnership ?

    PLEASE HELP !

  • @KelseyGracee I'm not sure of your question. Are you trying to re-send an application for YouTube or disconnect something YouTube from Adsense? There is a working relationship/partnership between YouTube and Google Adsense. If you are a YouTube Partner, individual or full, you will need your YouTube & Google Adsense accounts connected in order to receive ad revenue.

  • @thecreativelady Okay can I pm you ? Please

  • Please someone answer to me : I understand about the copyrights that everything on your chanel and video have to be original yours. My question is what if I want to put some music of some famous artist while my video is playing. What do I have to do so their music could be in my video?

  • @AndyTzan You'll have to contact the artist or the record company and get permission. You will more than likely pay their royalty fees that can be hundreds or thousands just for a one time use. It depends on the artist/song and label. Good luck!

  • please answer this: my adsense account was disabled... can i still become a partner?

  • @learnsports Do you know why was your Adsense account was disabled? Did you disable it or was for YouTube or blog violations? You will need an active Adsense account to earn revenue on YouTube. YouTube and Google ARE partners so depending on the reason, it could pose difficult to become a Partner IF you had violations. Kinda like having 2 parents who have grounded you for reckless driving but you still want to borrow the car!

  • @thecreativelady it got disabled cuz i clicked on the ad

  • @learnsports Oh Snap! It is difficult to say what YT will do since that the reason. YouTube is rather explicit about what not to do and clicking your own ads is a definite no no. If it was only once and in error, may you can appeal. So I'm guessing you were in Individual Video Partner?

  • I commented on this video <3 lol but thank you sooo much for the help and advice.

  • @TheGamersGuides Thank you and you're welcomed! Glad to be of assistance.

  • I watched this twice, so helpful and reassuring. Thanks for all your advice ; )

  • @hennafied Thank you for your interest. I've sent you a PM.

  • The first video with +50 likes and no dislikes I´ve ever seen.

And great video by the way.

  • @digitalzocker Shhhh! Don't you send that old thumbs down bandit to my video! LOL. Thanks. I guess it has really been helpful to a lot of people. Thanks for watching!

  • Great advice. Thanks for sharing!

  • @CandidAnn My pleasure!

  • I make video gameplay commentaries. Does that me I won't be able to make money on it?

  • @TheStrategicDuck Of course, I'm not a gamer but just basing my response on copyright. . . it all depends. Does your commentary show images or video from the games? I would think it all depends on the game and it's owner(s) or parent company. Some may allow the use of images under the "teaching" realm. Not sure if you will earn the ad revenue. You may want to find some gamers/YouTube partners and get their feedback. The YT forums may be helpful to you too as partners and non-partners post there.

  • @Beebeauty33 Not sure if I've answered this for you already but you will have to email or fax to YouTube personnel proofs of purchase and or end user license agreements that are usually available for royalty free media. If it's a private person, a letter or note from them will also serve as proof.

  • thank you <3 this video really help :D

  • @catraccho19 Yay! Glad it was helpful to you.

  • I have one question. If partnership is taking to long and you cancel it, can you apply again right away? Please answer :(

  • @MakeMehWonder My first application took a while and I assume it was because YouTube powers that be were thoroughly examining my account. I don't think you can cancel an application once you have applied. If you are turned down, re-apply in 2 months after you have addressed any issues.

  • @thecreativelady

    thank you :)

  • btw this had some really helpful info so thnx

  • so if i made a video with copyrighted material in it tht was banned (i took it off immediately), but received no warnings and if my account is in good standing, then youtube wont reject me as a partner cuz of copyright, right?

  • @DarthZahc I believe that YouTube looks at all cases individually. If you were a copyright violations repeat offender, you'd definitely have problems. Your account is at risk of being closed. It is my understanding that channels get 3 copyright warnings. I never received any copyright strikes so I can't speak on what that policy is as it regards partnership. Be sure to visit the forums as others share their experiences.

    Good question.

  • @thecreativelady so.. if i dont have any strikes at all then im probably in good shape?

  • @DarthZahc Yes. But remember, when you apply for partnership, your account will be reviewed. I've seen others make partner with copyrighted images, music but the vlogger will NOT earn money from the ads that appear beside the video. Depending on the copyright holder, there will be links to Amazon or iTunes to purchase the music used in the video. The ads that appear beside the video, the money goes to the Artist and not the vlogger. You can only earn money for original content.

  • @thecreativelady k thank u for the info. it will help me when the time is rite to become a partner... if there eva is one.

  • Informative content. Much better then the lazy 1 minute videos you see usually. You got a ad click from me :)

  • @PowerArmsTeam Thanks for your support. Glad my video helped you.

  • I want to start making game reviews, so if i show me playing a game i couldent earn revenue or could i.

  • @bigTvideogameman This is a tricky one because it depends on the game and it's guidelines. It may be considered educational as you demonstrate copyrighted game images and revenue earning may be possible. I've seen gamers with ads running but I don't know if the ads are credited to the gamer or the manufacturer of the game. You'd have to ask the gamer. Trust me, if your video infringes on the games copyright, YouTube will PROMPTLY let you know! Good luck!

  • wat if i havnt used the whole song as such.. ive just used bits n pieces frm here n der.. is it still considered copyrighted music?

  • @MrJovitageorge I venture to say no matter the length, it's still someone else's music. Ex: You have money in your wallet. A stranger in line at Walmart turns to you and takes a 20 to pay for their groceries. Though the person only took a small amount, it is ALL your money and property right? Same concept. The video may pass and stay on YoyTube, depending on the artist and their agreement w/their label. But if you want to be partner, it may prevent you. You definitely won't earn money on it.

  • Thx4theupload!!! Best I've seen so far!

  • lol awww that sucks...thanks so much for your help...great video

  • I don't care to earn any revenue i just want to be able to post a banner up and revamp my channel, so the fact that i won't generate any money doesn't bother me

    Thanks in advance

    MeekaJael

  • @MeekaJael At this time, you can't get a banner until you become full partner. And that means having a squeaky clean, copyright free channel. Sure, some partners get away with copyright violations but as a "newbie", don't even think about it. They still ride my donkey and make me show proof of purchase, etc. about royalty free music that I have permission to use. You just have to decide what's important to you.

  • @thecreativelady thank you so much sis,

  • i have music in a lot of my videos but i don't want to take them down or swap them, so is it possible to just add revenue sharing to my videos that don't have music or is there a chance that even if i don't do revenue sharing for vids with music the'll still be taken down? I've gotten a few emails from youtube regarding adding revenue sharing to particular videos, but i'm afraid youtube will delete the others... and do you get to have a banner with both types of partnership or just the full one

  • @MeekaJael The banner only comes w/full partnership. If you're invited to revenue share, consider it. You can revenue share videos without copyrighted music but you won't ever become full partner. Whether or not you accept the invitation, YouTube has the right to take down any video, at any time. Period. You may as well reap some financial benefits. Videos that I had with music in them, I made them private, prior to accepting the invitation to revenue share or deleted them. I got over it.

  • what if you posted a vid with music but i doesnt say copyright?? plzz respond i gotta know (:

  • @mattie7179 If it's royalty free music that you purchased you'll be ok. But if it's tunes that you uploaded from a CD, several things could happen. It all depends on the artist. Sometimes you'll see links to the artists' song to purchase from Amazon or iTunes. Other artists are so strict that your video will be taken down, even if you give them credit. You could also get your audio muted. I hope this helps!

  • Thanks so much this really helped me a lot on when i should apply . im deffently gunna wait :D LOL

  • @Ansleey3 Glad the video helped you. Best wishes whenever you apply!

  • Hey, I was just wondering about something. Did you have to wait for your PIN or did you get it straight away? I've heard that you have to wait till you reach a certain amount but I'm not sure so any help will be appreciated thanks.

  • @AltonTowersChild If you're referring to the Adsense pin, I already had one because I was already an Adsense account holder. If a user only gets an Adsense account when they revenue share videos on YouTube, they will have to wait for the pin. But it doesn't take very long to arrive. It's no biggie because revenue is only distributed after the account has generated at least $100. I'm willing to to say a person will probably receive their pin before they generate $100. Don't click your own ads!

  • @thecreativelady Thanks very much! I guess the PIN will come after I have £10 in my account.

  • I LOVE beautiful Libraians!!! This vid was really very helpful. God bless you for posting this info. Being a new poster, it puts things into focus.

The sight I use for my royalty-free music is incompetech (dot) com. The guy who creates the music, Kevin MacLeod, has an incredible amount of music and gives intructions on how to use it on YouTube. Everyone should check him out.

Anyway, stay beautiful and best wishes on your YouTube future!

  • @SuperFreeamerican *blush* Thank you for commenting. I accept all the blessings I can get. I'm elated that you found my video helpful. I wish you the best!

  • thank you so much for tips i learned alot.

  • @JamesBrownvlog I'm happy. Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment.

  • if i apply for a individual partnership and they eventually put ads in my video. Will i get paid for having ads?

  • @TheShaplessShadow Individual partnerships are by YouTube invitation only. You can't apply. If you are invited and accepted for Individual partnership, yes, you will get paid for ads.

  • Guys I got it!

    But is it free????

  • @perhour12345 Is YouTube partnership free? Yes but you must apply and be accepted.

  • @thecreativelady Okay, Yeah I got accpted, but I dont have any of the features yet D: Do I wait?

  • @perhour12345 You should have received a "welcome" email from YouTube that pretty much spells it all out. Are you full partner or individual video partner?

  • @thecreativelady Im an individual.

  • @thecreativelady I had only 1 video to reach individual partnership before I applied for full partnership. Before the video showed any advertisements, I had to prove permission to the video content, in my case, music rights. Fortunately, I'd used royalty free music and could provide YouTube with proper documentation that I had rights to use it. It was a lengthy process -- very back & forth b/w me & Youtube. It seemed to have taken weeks but one day, the ads appeared.

  • Hey, can you answer the following question please?

I like many others are partnered via the IVP Partnership. Now I want to become a full partner and I can't because it says I'm already related to the Partnership Program.

    Please help, thanks from AltonTowersChild.

  • @AltonTowersChild @AltonTowersChild hmmm. . . I'm not certain about that one. But November 2010, YouTube invited a video of mine to Individual Video Partnership. When I applied for full partnership myself a month later, I did not have any conflicts. Where are you getting that message response? Be sure you're applying at youtube.com slash partners.

  • @thecreativelady I am definitely on that page. Here's exactly what they say: User "AltonTowersChild" is already a linked user in a partner programme application.

That appears where the yellow apply button should be.

  • @AltonTowersChild Hmmm. Have you checked the YouTube forums to see if others have the same issue? I love the forums. I learn a lot from other users there. Otherwise, I suggest you contact YouTube for clarification.

  • @thecreativelady I have done so.

Do you think I should disable revenue sharing then hope I can apply for the full partnership?

  • @AltonTowersChild Since I've never been in this situation, I really can't say what you should do. It doesn't seem like it will make a difference but I will try to research it for you and if I find something, I'll get back to you. Just be sure that you have a good number of subscribers and video views. Also, I checked your page and have to ask if you've checked your videos for potential copyright issues? If you have violations, I wouldn't apply until you deal with those. Good Luck!

  • Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Love your hair in this video.

  • @sherritaberry No prob. Thanks for commenting.

  • Hey missy, So you cant play music in the background? I own that music that is playing in my house....LOL

  • @bossgal3 You can play it but if you intend to ever earn revenue, you won't be eligible to earn money with a video with copyrighted music i.e. R. Kelly music in a demo. (unless you know R. and he gives you written permission) And depending on what artist it is, your audio can get muted or deleted. Purchasing music gives us limited use: listening privileges. The artist retains all rights for earnings. No exceptions. I hope this helps!

  • @thecreativelady That suck, cause I love playing music. Are the earning decent? Thanks for sharing this information ;)

  • @bossgal3 Earnings vary. I haven't quit the day job! LOL.

  • how much could a person make on their videos when they become partner?

  • @BeeKemi Earnings are based on several factors and will vary from person to person, video to video and advertisement value. Also taken into account is the vloggers traffic and whether viewers have interest and actually click the ads that run beside videos.

  • Great video!!

  • @whoissugar Thanks Sugar!

  • Thanks for the vid! Your hair is GORGEOUS!

  • @supersunny215 You are welcomed! Thanks for commenting and for the hair compliment!

  • So here's the thing...If you apply, will they tell you why you are being turned down? I ask this because I think I know what I need to do but I would hate to go through a long drawn out process only to be turned down if I can just apply as is and have them give me a blueprint on how to get approval.... Do you get my meaning?

  • @qochemist When you apply, in most cases, there is a response waiting period. But if a vlogger has 1 video and 10 subscribers, they will probably get an instant rejection. But if the vlogger has met the minimum standards: quality video content, subscriber count and video views, YouTube will take the time to thoroughly "investigate" their partnership eligibility. This could take weeks. Patience is key. YouTube cannot be rushed. If rejected, there is a 2 month waiting period to reapply.

  • Very informative video.Good work .

  • @iamchohnit Always happy to help. Thank you!

  • You've provided invaluable advice to new comers and old timers who want to make a name for themselves on YT. I'm surprised most partners don't share that information with their subscribers.

  • @Haitian1130 Happy to help. To be honest, the Partner Program terms are rather public as they are discussed in YouTube Forums and Community Guidelines. Most of what I know about the program, I knew BEFORE being accepted. I guess that is the researcher in me! Thanks for commenting!

  • You are an obviously thoughtful and saavy person. Good advice (not that I am going to make vids) :)

  • @curliefro Wow! Now that is the ultimate compliment! Thank you!

  • Great information, thanks for posting

  • @JMicheLLe247 You are welcomed.

  • wow! I am SO GLAD that you made this video.....thanks a lot!

  • @cassochinadoll You're welcomed. I hope it helps you.

  • Very informative! You answered all my questions.

  • @ibyl After we exchanged messages yesterday, I knew that I needed to make a video for everyone. Just keep it moving forward.

  • this was great information! thx for sharing. I've heard of the royalty- free music, and you right it's not free!! LOL

  • @trecey920 No problem. I used to think it was free too. Not!

  • Thank you so much for the wealth of information. I will definitely keep all of your valuable tips in mind but meanwhile, I will take my time and enjoy channels like you have. Have a blessed weekend Curlfriend :)

  • @11zeaky You're welcomed. Go forward when you're ready and continue to create your good content.

  • @thecreativelady Thank you and by the way, I'm loving your curly puff.

  • Wow!! that was some great information. I think it's wonderful what you are doing. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • @StormyHair Yay! I love when you all find a video informative. I will keep it up. Thank YOU for watching and taking the time to comment.

  • loving your hair!! and pink becomes you! always wondered about this YT partnership, others who are partners on YT seem to guard that info as if it were a big secret!! this is so so helpful and nice of you to share!

  • @louloumatou I love pink!

I don't know why partnership has been so hush hush. I'm happy to share the information. Thanks for your comment.

  • Good information...and cute hair! :0)

  • @nae0420nae Thank you, thank you!

  • That was a wealth of information presented very nicely. Thank you! You saved me some reading time. :)

  • @naturalstronghair I tried to make sure that I covered the big points. Glad that you liked my presentation. Thanks.

  • This was very informative. I don't use others music and REALLY enjoy making my own.

  • @nichefaulkner Wow. Original music is excellent because many of us got caught up in trying to find the perfect song for our video. Keep up the great work.

  • this was sooo helpful!

  • @KinkyKurlyKham I'm glad the video helped you. Thanks for commenting.

  • @thecreativelady LOL!!! I didn't even notice it. But it STILL looks good. LOL! That's one of the things that I love about my natural hair. It doesn't have to be perfect.
