That is really a neat idea. I think it's great you do something like that for the kids. There are too many fuddy duddys these days. Kudos to you for doing something FUN!
that you so much for saying how you made the spider! im doing a harry potter theam and that would make a great arogog! (but im not as cool as you so it would be way smaller)
cool i did that to my house before it took A LONG time to do and i did most of the work with my dad my sisters and my mom took out chairs and iced tea and watched us but still cool
The Spider is made up of about 600-800 black ballons. We buy the 8 inch balloons in bulk online. We fill them with a air pump until about half filled with air. We tie two balloons together in a knot, as we tie the balloon closed.(hard to explain). We then wrap two pairs of balloons together to make a four balloon combo.
More... The web is put up about 2 weeks before Halloween. But the spider is put up only for Halloween day.. when the kids get off the school bus, the spider is there... the balloons only last a day outside... so I let the neighbor kids "kill" the balloon spider the next morning.
It takes about 100 balloons to make each spider leg. We wrap the balloon combos around a 1 inch pvc pipe. Our house smells like latex for a week.. because we do all this inside our house a few days before Halloween.
The lights are regular rope lights... Christmas decoration lights.
Purchased at WalMart. I think it roughly cost me $250 in lights.. although each year I need to buy a few more because of burn outs.
My wife told me I should sell an instruction bokklet.. haha.. it was really cool when a Baltimore news helicopter came out one year a did a live shot of our house...
that really is the coolest halloween decoration i've ever seen. and you have a very lovely home. i wonder what lavish things you do for other holidays?...
