I remember going to see this in December of '77. It is far worse on a large screen. And tedious too. We dubbed this movie "Pie Pan" Invasions. The wobbling of the Flying Saucers is really noticible on a large screen. :-) It actually came out a few months after Star Wars probably hoping to ride on the fever for space movies that Star Wars generated. Ha, as if!
i'm saying a big platinum edition 2-dvd set with lots of featurettes and a commentary track where the director talks about how much crack they were smoking on set.
i love this damn movie! it's replaced devil dog: the hound of hell as my favorite bad movie ever.
That one alien was a hot piece of space pussy!

I edit subtitles for DVDs. I would love to work on something like this than do another Fringe or Disney's Gummi Bears.

Hey, this scene actually has some pretty good forced perspective work in it. :)

I totally agree. I still don't know how it was achieved though. I actually saw this on the big screen when it was released!

"We're the only car on the road!" ...Yeah...and if there were 100 cars, do you think they'd all be able to stop the UFO?
jpowell180 4 years ago
I don't think she meant it would stop the UFO in any way but rather they were the only target. That was my favorite line from the clip.

This really needs to come out on DVD. It's a good "beer and pretzels night" movie to watch with friends and give it the ol' MST3K treatment.

ha! yeah, that's my favorite line. don't do anything to upset them. that woman is SO overacting.
i don't think it was actually that low-budget -- it just flopped. check out the "ocean landing" sequence, the model work is really damn good.
highway234 4 years ago
You know, the saucer effects are quite good for a low-budget film.
"Oh BOY! A real flying saucer!!!"
"Put that down Billy! You'll get them mad at us!!!"
