When I assign a static IP it says "Connected" but my DHCP Client list dosent have HST-1 on there and I cannot connect to that computer or connect to the Internet on that computer. Help!
Can someone clarify what he said at 1:25 cause I'm trying to connect to the internet so I can setup active directory and etc. and I didn't understand what he said between setting the local connections as static IP. Also why do you have to setup two different LAN connections? Sorry but I'm totally new to Server 2003 and trying to set it up on my laptop for a class project.
@GrkVenom Hi, One connection is to the internet and one is to the rest of the network. This is because I was doing it in VMware and I didn't want the DHCP server on the virtual machine to give IP addresses out to the rest of my network and break it.
Very useful video.............thanks youtube

hello im joseph from modmysims3 now we have just got new computers with microsoft sever 2003 on them do we put any ip in or our old ip in ?

@modmysims3 Any static IP address is fine as long as it doesn't clash with what your DHCP gives out or what is in use already.

do we have to make static ip adresses?
Macintosh3745 8 months ago
@Macintosh3745 Hi, Yes you do otherwise DNS will not work correctly and in turn neither will Active Directory.

@GrkVenom
it is also if you are running this on a real server like hp dl380 G4 they tend to have multiple network cards
for instance one of my servers has 3 1GB network cards and 1 ILO card

Windows Server Password can be hacked. Thats how I hacked my school. However, you will feel bad and depressed when you lose it.
