Hey your not half bad!:) just work in holding and moving your arms through your back.. And sliding your foot into tandu through the ball if your foot! Good Job!:))
Hey, jeadoresteve. I've been reading some of the things on here and while almost all of these people are giving you good advice, don't get discouraged by the rude way it's provided. It's true that you shouldn't be on pointe yet - you've only been dancing two years and you're not technically strong enough yet. It's terribly dangerous and could put you out for good. You've got a great set of strong thighs - take your time to condition them for dance; don't rush. Keep it up on flat and be careful.
Hhmmm yeaah I'm not going to go into much detail with what's wrong here because many have already. But I just wanted to say that since you're pretty new to pointe you should be sticking to easier things on pointe, like shage-mane de piee's and just rising up and pakurues. Don't go off on arabesque yet, you're not quite ready or balanced. Either way not a bad job, just don't jump too high up since you're new to this!! :)
@balletisodessa oh pull your god damn head in. at least she is trying and your horrible comments can apply to probably half the dancers out there. if you can do better GOOD, but dont try and bring someone like her down who is actually DOING something other than insulting others.
@balletisodessa She admits she's only been dancing for a short time and not since she was old enough to walk. Hope that berating her made you feel better about yourself. Uggh...
@balletisodessa- Damn, you're an asshole. Way to encourage people. And her turnout doesn't bite... not all people are born with the ability turn their legs all the way out to the side. Why are ballet dancers so snobby?
I have also been doing ballet for 2 years now and I'm 21, so I think I can compare the two of us pretty well. My conclusion: you don't seem to have any technique yet, your arms are floppy, you cannot even do a decent plié, and you're really not supposed to shuffle that much when going to 5th. I hope you do not hurt yourself on those pointe shoes... Sorry if I'm rude, but are you self-taught?
I don't want you to hurt yourself. I'm 12, dancing for 5 years, Pointe about 3. I've played big roles in shows, and it SUCKS to get hurt, my friends have been pulled out of competitions, ended up crying on stage cause of the pain, and it's not something you want to deal with. I say take a break from pointe, get stronger on flat, and get a new teacher that can actually point out the corrections that are way to ridiculous for me to even say. I'm sorry but this is whats best for you and your feet
I've been working for my pointe shoes for four years. You do not deserve them and their beauty. And you're going to break your ankles. Whoever let you get pointe shoes didn't know what they were talking about.
@Jesscukable after the video you posted of you, I really would not have the audacity to say something as rude as you did to this girl. I could say loads of negative comments about the video you've posted of yourself spinning around, however some things are better left unsaid. She's a beginning dancer whose just learning. Get off your high horse, cause you're not any better.
@elizabethholly2005 do you enjoy being terribly rude to beginning dancers? because if you have any morals whatsoever or any belief in the notion of "hell", just a little wake up call, you're on the road there. Rude rude rude. This girl knows she's a beginner and she's stated that. Where are you up on stage, huh? I doubt that youre any better of a dancer.
wow, some fairly mean comments on here! so glad my teacher wasn't that mean about my early mistakes! maybe work in soft ballet shoes, and get really strong and flexible, then later on when your teacher is really really happy with your core, ankle and feet strength, try at pointe work :) in the long run, it's always better to be completely comfortable and to excel at ballet in soft shoes before you move on! good luck! x
hey hey heeyy guuyss she's a late starter sheesh I bet she's doing this pure as a hobby. something she loves to do, but has no intention of going professional. relax..
ok , Im not trying to be overly critical of YOU . . your studio should NOT have allowed you en pointe , as you have to learn the 'rules' of ballet . What i mean by this is , turnout , tucking in your derieee ( as my ballet teacher says) pulling up , relaxing shoulders . . so on an so fourth . You need to get this on flat shoes before moving on . . . . sorry
you need to put more effort into everything that your doing!! holding your arm in any position should HURT because you should be using your muscles properly. use your core more too, this will help you to keep your body straight when your going through plie. you need to sort these out before you even think about going en pointe!!
There is no way ur actually a dancer... Especially one en pointe! Sorry, but don't try and claim to be one when your obviously just borrowing a friends dance gear... If u can't stand en pointe without holding onto the counter with two hands then don't post a video...
work on your arms, also cross your 5th some more, heels down when you jump, push onto your box more, don't bend your knees and push your leg higher..... yeah that will all help you!!!
This is my first year of ballet but I have been dancing all my life and I'm on pointe, I'm not sure why my teacher wanted me on them so fast but I'm not that good yet but I'm still trying.
does anyone have any advice on how i can get my arabesque higher??? because its pretty much stuck where it is and despite having very strong legs i just cant lift it any higher. any advice would be appreciated. thanks. xx
1. watch your hips 2. never sink into your hip 3. turn out 4. put your heel down in saute 5. go onto your box 6. don't rely or hold on like to the kitchen counter 7. use your demi point if you're in RAD 8. slow down on plie 9. what's with your arms? 10. get off pointe for your own good, it looks like you've been extremely rushed, not only can't you even do some everyday ballet properly and you're on pointe? btw, i'm not being rude because I know what pointe is...I'm on it (a beginner)
I don't think you should be on pointe yet...I've been dancing for 4 years and just now got my pointe shoes. You need to find a new instructor because the one you have now should not have put you on pointe.
Your good(: just put your heel down more on your jumps, you can really hurt your self if you don't. I know its hard sometimes and i'm probably should be talking 'cause i've only been taking dance for 5 weeks and i have the same problem. Anyways great work!(:
well something that would make u look more graceful was id u just let ur arms flow and dont bring your hands down so strait and stiff in grande plea. ive been dancing since i was 4 and im now 13 . trust me it will look a lot more graceful
There is so much in this video that I quite want to correct, but it all basically adds up to. You are just not ready for pointe. You are quite rushing your self. You fidget to much, you're not completely turned out, you're clumsy. And you LOOK like you're in pain. I know you probably are but you shouldn't look like you are. Does that make sense? I know I sound like a b**** but I really am just trying to help.
You are going to hate to hear this, but from one adult late-starter to another - you need to find another studio. Your teacher is letting you make a lot of mistakes that are hindering your dancing. What's worrying is that a lot of your mistakes are very basic principles that should have already been ironed out in the first 2 years - foot placement in tendues, better plies, rolling though your feet, and cleaner jumps. Please find another instructor!
work on your arms they were just floating around!!! and i would try to get over you box a little more but other than that i think your working well for 2 years and i really love those pointe shoes(:
who gave u permission to go en pointe? honestly i think u need to work on ur technique a lot more before u start pointe. ur turnout is not very good at all and pretty much nonexistant when u go en pointe. u need to get ur heels down in 5th when u do ur changements. ur port de bra looks lazy and sloppy. ur leaning forward and sitting in ur plies. ur not getting all the way over ur box. ur arabeque looks a mess. dont let ur hips raise up. keep them squared. good luck... u have a lot of work to do.
make sure your plies are nice and juicy. and SLOOOOOOW DOWN! it's a stretching warm up, you should feel a stretch in your lower hammies, that's when you know you're going low enough. and as other people have said, watch your back. it's easy to get too into it with your port de bras. keep working your shoes in, it will be much easy to get up over the box with a shank that is properly broken in. keep working hard, and best of luck! -a fellow ballerina
you are too cute:) good posture, but you don't seem to be over your box.....i just got the elite today and i have pretty high arches but they are lower on my foot and the elite is working out well (much betther than the bochs and capezios i had). Hold your turnout from the back (your piriformus) and try not to break your lines by bending your wrist.....good work:)
wow ur really good only thing i notice is when u step into 1st position or 5th position dont adjust or figet while you are already in that position its looked upon as a mistake when your performing and such but otherwise ur really good
are you self taught???there is no other way to explain this atrocity...whomever let you on to pointe was high on something and needs to be smacked asap and banned from teaching ballet...you don't have the fudamentals down-you're not even close to having them down...you NEED to throw all your pointe shoes away...buy ballet slippers, find a local studio and start at the absolute beginner level...you're NOWHERE near pointe ready...this is an injury waiting to happen from no training and bad habits.
haha I'm sorry, but this is what happens when people read "Ballet for Dummies". You have to hold yourself up when you're NOT on pointe. I'd suggest finding a human teacher and go from there. Hang up the shoes for a little while.
Im sorry Youtube is full of ignorant people!!! We should be helping eachother not beating people down.
You have a lovely facility but i woud suggest breaking in your shoes. You will have so much stability when you do. I recommend 'AmberMade- simple ways to break in your pointe shoes' It help me with my grishko's. goodluck x
dont bounce in your plie, relax your ankles and support your arms from your back. in addition, thanks to your less than appropriate attire, i can tell that youre not using your core. please dont climb up onto pointe. lastly, if the comments about not having a real instructor are the case, i beg of you, go find one. most studios can work out payment plans if that is the problem. i really dont want you to hurt yourself.
Wow you look pretty good! You have an amazing dancing body, I wish I looked like that. You have nice legs, and I'd love to see you do some developpes. It's been a year since you uploaded this so I bet you look even more amazing!
hey, ive only been dancing for four years, and i'm on pointe too. my teacher believes i am capable of being on pointe. i will put up a few videos, to see what you guys think, and yes there is of course a safety risk as we have both been dancing for a very short time. but evidently if you are on pointe, your instructor believes you capable, so try not to let the cruel comments some call 'constructive
criticism' bother you. we're in the same boat. go for it.
So we must only give asspats? And ignore the results of " learning from YouTube and books"? Them's her 'instructor'. Put up YOUR videos by all means. But don't whine when you don't get the OMG! U gr8! bullshit you seem to think due regardless of ability. And do you really think the observations - by so many obviously knowledgable commentors here - are cruel instead of constructive? You probably expect praise for managing to write your name on the test paper.
Second, she is wearing Grishko's. These pointe shoes have an extremely hard shank, almost like hooves. I love mine to peices. The are made specifically for springing up to pointe. If you are to roll up another brand with a medium or soft shank would be a better choice. Grishko is one of the few however who seem to still make a highly tapered toe box, something I need and recommend to other dancers. The shoe must take body weight away from the toes, must be tight and tapered to do that.
Right - she is wearing Grishkos - designed for the advanced dancer taught that 'springing' Vaganova method. Which I'm sure is not being "taught on Youtube" (deleted comment below tells us this is where she is 'learning' from). These are absolutely the last shoes she should be choosing.
They look good when waving her feet about for posing purposes so that noob 10 year olds can gush. Clearly, that's what really matters.
Two points to be made here. She should not be critized about her turn out, injuries in ballet usually occur on account of attempting to push turnout too fast. It must always come from the hip joints and never put rotational stress on the knee joints. Turnout must be developed slowly however long it takes the body.
I don't really think you should be on pointe yet, turnout should be mastered before pointe shoes. or at least be better than yours. sorry i don't mean to be rude.
you seriously should not be on pointe you could hurt yourself just by looking at you you are not fit enough to be a ballerina and also your ankles are not stong enough to support your fatt ass
You're right to quit here after that weak-ankle wobble at 3.03. That's painful to see. This is where 'learning from Youtube and books' leads and removing your comments isn't disguising the fact that your technique is exactly what one would expect from such a conceit. Look, you're getting skewered here and with good reason. Please stop kidding yourself. and get lessons.
You've only been DANCING for two years, and you're on pointe? Your teacher must be crazy. Your ankles probably arent strong enough for pointe. And when doing a grande plie, dont sit down there. You have to really use your muscles to keep yourself at a good position.
put some quality into your plies; when doing your plies try oozing down into them and oozing out as you recover, when you recover really squeeze your inside leg muscles to show some resistance. also when you do your grande plies work through your feet and as you come of of the plie make sure you put your heels down before straightening your knees.
when you do your Plié you should pull your shoulders back, pull up in your stomach and keep your back straight, when you do Développé try not to sink back into your hips, try to keep your pelvis contracted, and last try to keep your hips square in your Arabesque you wont feel like ur leg is as high but it will look cleaner
Frankly, you don't seenm as though you were at all ready for pointe work. Two years ballet training is almost never enough to prepare a student for it, and you are rushing ahead of yourself. I cannot believe a reputable teacher would have let you start. Sorry to say but your technique shows many basic problems because of this.
You are learning ballet from YouTube? Are you serious? That's not only dumb, it is doomed to fail entirely and, if you are lucky, all that will go wrong is you ruin your feet and ligaments. Please, don't say you've already started pointe work from your You Tube 'lessons'. Please...
I'm also learning from books. I can't afford lessons. I am a perfestionist so the going seems slow. At 50 years old I don't think I can hurt my feet or ligaments. Thanks for the advice though.
try not to bow forward in your grande plie. try keeping your eyes up. a teacher of mine used to say 'where your eyes go, you go...don't go crashing into the floor!'
You are a amazing dancer.. and i wouldnt be suprised if you end up breaking something of that kitchen of yours! Im 16 and i want to take ballet lessons and i found your results as a dancer inspiring since you started @ 18. :)
don't sit in your plies and watch your arms( i have a problem with my arms also) hold you're center all the time and squeeze you're butt (it helps i promise) also watch your head make sure it is not looking down
you need to strengthen your feet and work on your arch if you stand up holding onto something in your pointe shoes and stand on pointe on one foot while taking the heel of the other and pressing into your arch this should help :)
youre sitting in your plies, resist on the way up untill your thighs hurt, if theyre burning by the second one youre doing it right. lean abit more forwards, it will help your hips staying in line and you wont roll on your feet that way. second position needs to be held so that your arms hurt after a minute of holding it. i really loved your ankles and your shoes are BEAUTIFUL!!! you have good hips for ballet allt he best xxxx
just a simple thing to think about, try to keep your arms strong especially when you extend to second you keep drooping your arm, and look up and speak with you eyes more ;)
I would definately work on strengthening the feet. Do lots of exercises with releve on and off pointe to build those arches. After your feet are strong you will not falter as much on your arabesque and other on pointe movements. I would also work really hard to break those shoes in so that they contour a little more to your foot.
one thing i always try to do is roll through my feet, even in tendu, and especially when going on releve. It helps break in the shoes and trains your feet to always work through the floor.
I agree with a lot of people that have posted Do not bend your legs when you're returning from a tendu. Also, work really hard on your arches. They seem to be falling in flat instead of arching over. Maybe it's just that they're new shoes and not broken in yet, but it makes for a weak line.
when you grande plie dont lean forward and make sure to have a straight back so it doesnt look like ur squatting lol. and ur arms dont look very strong try to move them so they look like a wave its much prettier i know its not important but its much bettter.
On the contrary the only thing I saw was how weak her arms looked. They are very important because with your arms you relay a message to the audience of strength, weakness, anger, sadness, and other such emotions. You were right to point the arms out.
when you tondu try to get your box onto the ground. (:
dont be so stiff with your arms!(:
dont bend your knee to get up to pose'. (:
&& when you use something to hold you up, make sure its either to the side of you, or in front of you. or you will have the habit of falling backwards. (:
i think you are right... even if your feet arent 'together' when you are in first, as long as your knees are together thats wat makes the better first. bc your can do more things then...
your plea is toooooo fast. Plus remember to keep your shoulders back, all the time, even when you plea with head movment. Give the vision of movment without loosing your posture
When you plie think about not picking up your heels until the last minute, and put them down as quick as possible when you come up. Also Deepen your plies
your footwork is good, but your arms are completely without energy or expression. hold them in first, then let someone try to push them down - work against that push. you'll feel the muscles that should be holding your arms. support your elbows and dont swing the arms around carelessly, make sure to lead them cleanly through the positions. :)
you demi plié is supposed to be much deeper. try to get down as far as you can without lifting your heels off the ground. when you come up from grand plié, make sure you're pressing the heels down to the floor as soon as possible - you have to be a moment in your deepest demi plie before you straighten your knees.
Thats pretty good. Here is some advice. Really try to go all the way over on your box really use your arch. Also make your plies more fluid. Point your feet a little more when you do tondus and thats good. Keep practicing!!
i think that ur arms look kinda stiff. try relaxing them a little bit more. this will help you to have a natural and graceful movement. keep up the good work!!!
The vamp on these shoes looks extremely long for you...I think that's making it harder. You might want to look at a shoe with a shorter vamp, if you like Grishko then Elite might be a good thing to try.
I think you're right. I have been doing a lot of pointe work on the floor lately, and it's been really hard for me to do pirouettes. Thanks so much for your help!
when doing your demi-plies you still need a deep plie without lifting your heels and don't do them so fast its pointless if your just like bouncing up and down.
That's really good for just 2 years :) try not to bend forward in grande pliés, keep your back as straight as you can ;) you'll find it easier once your shoes have been broken in a little more :)
Thank you! It's been really hard working through my feet with my pointe shoes. I guess they aren't just broken in enough. Thank you again for your advice!
You're very welcome :) I wrecked my feet doing pointe too young and I had to stop dancing for a while, so getting back on was wonderful, I'm really addicted once more! You could even try bending the shank with your hands a little ( as long as you don't snap it!) to soften them up! Worked with my old Grishko Elites :)
Hey your not half bad!:) just work in holding and moving your arms through your back.. And sliding your foot into tandu through the ball if your foot! Good Job!:))

I'm going to give you some pointers that I would give a pre-pointe student:
-Pull up, you'll find it easier to balance.
-Your ankles look fine, really, don't listen to what other people tend to say, I can assure you most of them have no idea what they're talking about.
-Don't ever EVER look down always keep your chin up.
-And DON'T GIVE UP

Please find another instructor!

work on your arms they were just floating around!!! and i would try to get over you box a little more but other than that i think your working well for 2 years and i really love those pointe shoes(:
Creationofballet 1 year ago
who gave u permission to go en pointe? honestly i think u need to work on ur technique a lot more before u start pointe. ur turnout is not very good at all and pretty much nonexistant when u go en pointe. u need to get ur heels down in 5th when u do ur changements. ur port de bra looks lazy and sloppy. ur leaning forward and sitting in ur plies. ur not getting all the way over ur box. ur arabeque looks a mess. dont let ur hips raise up. keep them squared. good luck... u have a lot of work to do.
yocorro90 1 year ago
@balletisodessa i think her arms are way to flowy and not structured enough.
dancerers12 1 year ago
make sure your plies are nice and juicy. and SLOOOOOOW DOWN! it's a stretching warm up, you should feel a stretch in your lower hammies, that's when you know you're going low enough. and as other people have said, watch your back. it's easy to get too into it with your port de bras. keep working your shoes in, it will be much easy to get up over the box with a shank that is properly broken in. keep working hard, and best of luck! -a fellow ballerina
Marissaparker09 1 year ago
you are too cute:) good posture, but you don't seem to be over your box.....i just got the elite today and i have pretty high arches but they are lower on my foot and the elite is working out well (much betther than the bochs and capezios i had). Hold your turnout from the back (your piriformus) and try not to break your lines by bending your wrist.....good work:)

U bend forwards in your plies, keep your back straight!! your turnouts are allright for someone who has been dancing for 2years!
good job!

are you self taught???there is no other way to explain this atrocity...whomever let you on to pointe was high on something and needs to be smacked asap and banned from teaching ballet...you don't have the fudamentals down-you're not even close to having them down...you NEED to throw all your pointe shoes away...buy ballet slippers, find a local studio and start at the absolute beginner level...you're NOWHERE near pointe ready...this is an injury waiting to happen from no training and bad habits.
bwoodsfinest 1 year ago 2
Weell you need to practice a little more ON your box and try to brake in your arch a little more. But good job you look really good en pointe!
redrocket144 1 year ago
haha I'm sorry, but this is what happens when people read "Ballet for Dummies". You have to hold yourself up when you're NOT on pointe. I'd suggest finding a human teacher and go from there. Hang up the shoes for a little while.
SteelerDaisy 1 year ago
Im sorry Youtube is full of ignorant people!!! We should be helping eachother not beating people down.
You have a lovely facility but i woud suggest breaking in your shoes. You will have so much stability when you do. I recommend 'AmberMade- simple ways to break in your pointe shoes' It help me with my grishko's. goodluck x

omg u are actually mad .. i hope u break ur ankle
PriincessNOT 1 year ago
dont bounce in your plie, relax your ankles and support your arms from your back. in addition, thanks to your less than appropriate attire, i can tell that youre not using your core. please dont climb up onto pointe. lastly, if the comments about not having a real instructor are the case, i beg of you, go find one. most studios can work out payment plans if that is the problem. i really dont want you to hurt yourself.

hey, ive only been dancing for four years, and i'm on pointe too. my teacher believes i am capable of being on pointe. i will put up a few videos, to see what you guys think, and yes there is of course a safety risk as we have both been dancing for a very short time. but evidently if you are on pointe, your instructor believes you capable, so try not to let the cruel comments some call 'constructive
criticism' bother you. we're in the same boat. go for it.
eurotilldeath 2 years ago
So we must only give asspats? And ignore the results of " learning from YouTube and books"? Them's her 'instructor'. Put up YOUR videos by all means. But don't whine when you don't get the OMG! U gr8! bullshit you seem to think due regardless of ability. And do you really think the observations - by so many obviously knowledgable commentors here - are cruel instead of constructive? You probably expect praise for managing to write your name on the test paper.
custardaghost 2 years ago
Second, she is wearing Grishko's. These pointe shoes have an extremely hard shank, almost like hooves. I love mine to peices. The are made specifically for springing up to pointe. If you are to roll up another brand with a medium or soft shank would be a better choice. Grishko is one of the few however who seem to still make a highly tapered toe box, something I need and recommend to other dancers. The shoe must take body weight away from the toes, must be tight and tapered to do that.
choochchick 2 years ago
@choochchick
Clearly, that's what really matters.
custardaghost 2 years ago
Two points to be made here. She should not be critized about her turn out, injuries in ballet usually occur on account of attempting to push turnout too fast. It must always come from the hip joints and never put rotational stress on the knee joints. Turnout must be developed slowly however long it takes the body.
choochchick 2 years ago 3
I don't really think you should be on pointe yet, turnout should be mastered before pointe shoes. or at least be better than yours. sorry i don't mean to be rude.

zoed057 2 years ago
You're right to quit here after that weak-ankle wobble at 3.03. That's painful to see. This is where 'learning from Youtube and books' leads and removing your comments isn't disguising the fact that your technique is exactly what one would expect from such a conceit. Look, you're getting skewered here and with good reason. Please stop kidding yourself. and get lessons.
custardaghost 2 years ago
Wait.
You've only been DANCING for two years, and you're on pointe? Your teacher must be crazy. Your ankles probably arent strong enough for pointe. And when doing a grande plie, dont sit down there. You have to really use your muscles to keep yourself at a good position.
iheartbillkaulitz24 2 years ago 3
put some quality into your plies; when doing your plies try oozing down into them and oozing out as you recover, when you recover really squeeze your inside leg muscles to show some resistance. also when you do your grande plies work through your feet and as you come of of the plie make sure you put your heels down before straightening your knees.
:)
MissGxoX 2 years ago
don't bounce in your plie.
Kentislandgirl 2 years ago
when you do your Plié you should pull your shoulders back, pull up in your stomach and keep your back straight, when you do Développé try not to sink back into your hips, try to keep your pelvis contracted, and last try to keep your hips square in your Arabesque you wont feel like ur leg is as high but it will look cleaner
savorthismoment 2 years ago
your arms look SO sloppy.
support from underneath.
and move through the positions with your arms, don't just wave them around.
nazzle69 2 years ago 2

Thanks for the advice though.

try not to bow forward in your grande plie. try keeping your eyes up. a teacher of mine used to say 'where your eyes go, you go...don't go crashing into the floor!'

can you pop balloons with them, and do some spins
manga12 2 years ago
you need to strengthen your feet and work on your arch if you stand up holding onto something in your pointe shoes and stand on pointe on one foot while taking the heel of the other and pressing into your arch this should help :)
blue567km 2 years ago
make sure you land flat on your feet from those change ments(sp?) get those heels down! beautiful! keep it up!
MsTrina1984 2 years ago
youre sitting in your plies, resist on the way up untill your thighs hurt, if theyre burning by the second one youre doing it right. lean abit more forwards, it will help your hips staying in line and you wont roll on your feet that way. second position needs to be held so that your arms hurt after a minute of holding it. i really loved your ankles and your shoes are BEAUTIFUL!!! you have good hips for ballet allt he best xxxx

just a simple thing to think about, try to keep your arms strong especially when you extend to second you keep drooping your arm, and look up and speak with you eyes more ;)

i am a dancer and im sure u have improved alot now.
uv prob heard this quite a bit but just try not to sit in ur plie's and as the others said work ur feet and the lines in ur arms.
i dont have great feet or turn out but im making it happen - takes alot of hard work .
keep at it u look like u have potential just trust urself on pointe :)
potatogemz 2 years ago
I would definately work on strengthening the feet. Do lots of exercises with releve on and off pointe to build those arches. After your feet are strong you will not falter as much on your arabesque and other on pointe movements. I would also work really hard to break those shoes in so that they contour a little more to your foot.
You are doing better now though I am sure.
Storm0404 2 years ago
a word of advice from one dancer to another:
one thing i always try to do is roll through my feet, even in tendu, and especially when going on releve. It helps break in the shoes and trains your feet to always work through the floor.
have fun on pointe. =]
Gizellie94 2 years ago
I agree with a lot of people that have posted Do not bend your legs when you're returning from a tendu. Also, work really hard on your arches. They seem to be falling in flat instead of arching over. Maybe it's just that they're new shoes and not broken in yet, but it makes for a weak line.
bo121591 2 years ago
when you grande plie dont lean forward and make sure to have a straight back so it doesnt look like ur squatting lol. and ur arms dont look very strong try to move them so they look like a wave its much prettier i know its not important but its much bettter.
bangcrashh 2 years ago
On the contrary the only thing I saw was how weak her arms looked. They are very important because with your arms you relay a message to the audience of strength, weakness, anger, sadness, and other such emotions. You were right to point the arms out.
Storm0404 2 years ago
Wow your shoes are really clean..~
How u keep them so clean?
xjj1021 2 years ago
Im a female, and Im not trying to perv on you
but you have a gorgeous body.
I would work on your turn out a bit more, and really slow down.
Also when you grand plie dont lean forward. You also have a tendency to move your hips with you point you feet.
You have strong legs though. I would just work on your feet (as far as strength goes) that will help with your small jumps
dechetsdailybs 2 years ago
when you tondu try to get your box onto the ground. (:
dont be so stiff with your arms!(:
dont bend your knee to get up to pose'. (:
&& when you use something to hold you up, make sure its either to the side of you, or in front of you. or you will have the habit of falling backwards. (:
i hope i helped. (:
casballetdancer 2 years ago
your right shoe seems to be more broken in than your left i think you need to work on making your left foot and ankle stronger :-)
missmusicmad 2 years ago
Don't bend your knees to get into a position. Also put your feet all the way down in jumps, or you could snap the Achilles.
Maybe try strengthening your feet more, and don't bend your knees at first when you roll up en pointe. But good job for so little time! :]
mbizee 3 years ago
i think you are right... even if your feet arent 'together' when you are in first, as long as your knees are together thats wat makes the better first. bc your can do more things then...

your plea is toooooo fast. Plus remember to keep your shoulders back, all the time, even when you plea with head movment. Give the vision of movment without loosing your posture

When you plie think about not picking up your heels until the last minute, and put them down as quick as possible when you come up. Also Deepen your plies
MissEyeliner92 3 years ago
when your jumping make sure that when you land to plie and push up with your whole foot and not just the ball of your foot
xsheenax55 3 years ago
your footwork is good, but your arms are completely without energy or expression. hold them in first, then let someone try to push them down - work against that push. you'll feel the muscles that should be holding your arms. support your elbows and dont swing the arms around carelessly, make sure to lead them cleanly through the positions. :)
strangesugarfairy 3 years ago
you demi plié is supposed to be much deeper. try to get down as far as you can without lifting your heels off the ground. when you come up from grand plié, make sure you're pressing the heels down to the floor as soon as possible - you have to be a moment in your deepest demi plie before you straighten your knees.
strangesugarfairy 3 years ago
DEEPEN YOUR PLIE!!!!
orlndosgrl 3 years ago
Thats pretty good. Here is some advice. Really try to go all the way over on your box really use your arch. Also make your plies more fluid. Point your feet a little more when you do tondus and thats good. Keep practicing!!
pointeshoes1001 3 years ago
great, however when doing pleis you sort of seem to stop when you get up. You should try to keep a fluid motion and keep your arms staright.
dancediva54 3 years ago
When u r going up on both tips make sure there is no shadow, so like there is no spae between your shoes and the floor

Kentislandgirl 3 years ago
That's really good for just 2 years :) try not to bend forward in grande pliés, keep your back as straight as you can ;) you'll find it easier once your shoes have been broken in a little more :)
TechnoKittin 3 years ago
Thank you! It's been really hard working through my feet with my pointe shoes. I guess they aren't just broken in enough. Thank you again for your advice!
jeadoresteve 3 years ago
You're very welcome :) I wrecked my feet doing pointe too young and I had to stop dancing for a while, so getting back on was wonderful, I'm really addicted once more! You could even try bending the shank with your hands a little ( as long as you don't snap it!) to soften them up! Worked with my old Grishko Elites :)
TechnoKittin 3 years ago
You're good! Just make sure to put down you heels all the way when plie-ing between jumps!
