Different people have different styles and preferences of holding a mouse and the way you "aim" with it. Works great for me, the side buttons arent in a crap place and even if they were, remap them? The middle buttons and one underneath are supposed to be to change all that stuff anyway not the side ones. Replaced my broken diamondback with it after quite a few years of use and its a perfect upgrade/replacement

Crap mouse. I'm just about sick of the cursor jumping every 5 mins whilst in game. Just get that perfect snipe shot, right click to fire *SPIIIN* you character does a full 180 leaving you facing the other way and youR sat there thinking 'WTF'

Also one little bit of dust gets on that lazer. . . The mouse goes into spazz mode. You drag right and it goes up and right in slow motion.

I got this mouse i mean might be good for lefties but i mean ive had it a while and i went over to use another mouse it has a weird shape and its really not that comfortable my opinion would be to go for a G5 or deathadder most likely cheaper and better an Mx512 logitech might be a better choise also

I have Razer Mamba and I heard that Microsoft SideWinder X8 is better for low sensitivity players, and the Razer Lachesis + Razer Mamba laser sucks for pepole who play under 800 DPI.

If you dont really care, and you are not a pro gamer (in CSS, or COD or whatever), get the Mamba. Becouse I really love this mouse, looks really nice, I love the wireless too, and its comfortable. But if you are a pro low sensitivity player get the SideWinder X8.

The more DPI the smoother it is, basically DPI is dots per inch, think of it, the higher dpi the more dots its gonna read per inch right? this will make the mouse a lot smoother, so therefor dpi does matter.. this is all because i have one and i love it ^^ and it does not look like shit -,-

The only problem is, a lot of Logitech mice are ergonomic only for right-handed users. Lefties like me are more prone to head for ambidextrous mice, and Razer offers just that. I can't even try to use an MX518 or G5/7/9, it's just too damned awkward.

Intellimouse 1.1 for low sens players? Sure Intellimouse optical is a good mouse, but the real problem with them always was that they drop on fast movements, and thats what low sens players do. They flick those mouses around at crazy speeds, old opticals just cant keep up. Or they've somehow gotten used to it.

Oh god the G9 fucking sucks. Laser sensors in general are shit for gaming. DPI means nothing, it's a marketing argument. The Lachesis is no better. The best sensor is 3G IR from Razer (DA, DB 3G) and the one in the IntelliMouse Explorer from Microsoft.

Compare them side by side and you will see, 800dpi optical > 4000dpi laser in ANY gaming situation.

G5 sucks I have it. its a full 1/2 inches taller profile make it a drag for FPS aiming. My diamondback 3G is gonna be shipped soon. I cant wait to test it. There's a difference between "best" and "best for the money" I own two of these mice and they are the best compared to a 3200 dpi logitech wireless mouse, a Microsoft wireless ergo mouse, a standard gateway mouse, a G5 from logitech, and a microsoft sidewinder. I've tried them all and all of them were cheaper, but I fuckin' love my lachesis.

I've never noticed a mouse make me better at a game... I think its mostly about comfort. The copperhead is very similar to this mouse (basically an older version). The main physical shape difference is the copperhead is vertically a little shorter than the lachesis.
