@TheInternetstars that usually means a corrupt md5. redownload the tar and place it in the binary folder, BY ITSELF! make sure you ONLY flash one tar at a time, and ALWAYS make sure you double check that the tar you're flashing, is the right one. because you can EASILY brick your phone by flashing a tar meant for another phone.
@TheInternetstars sorry man. are you putting this file in there, SPHM900_MR4_DJ07.tar it shouldn't be in a folder. JUST PUT THAT FILE in the binary folder, by itself. nothing else in there. no one said to create new folders inside the binary folder.

@Dstruk70 you just put the m900 tar in the binary folder and flash it back to 2.1! or go to samsung.com and download the latest update for the moment.

@Mert11b ahhhhhh! that means you need to flash your phone! you have no system for it to boot to. You need to take the big dj07 tar and put it in the BINARY folder, by itself, untouched (meaning don't unzip it!) and then run the program. your phone WILL NOT reboot. it will get stuck on the sprint logo. so you pull the battery out, go to recovery, and choose reboot to system.
@ScreamforInsomnia once you INSTALL clockwork mod recovery or whatever recovery you want, the first time you boot to recovery or system it creates the folders automatically. if you use clockwork mod recovery, you will be able to put the files anywhere.

@cohcam12 delete anything and everything in that folder! Then copy the tar that you want in there. If you leave more than one file on in that folder, you will brick your moment.
I have a samsung moment that I bought from someone for 60$. unfortunately its stuck on the lockscreen and I cant access anything on the inside. Do you think if I rooted and flashed a rom id be able to bypass the lockscreen and have something close to factory?
@1BadAssYellaBoi you can turn the phone off, hold volume down, power, and the talk key... and then you should see recovery. choose WIPE. I HAVE successfully bypassed the lock screen by watching a YouTube video and doing what they did. it's a pain in the ass, but you can do it. Only if the phone is capable of receiving calls.

i followed all the instructions except when i instald cl14 i didnt restart computer . when i try to tethering started with errors does anybody know the reason why this is happening
got all the way up to detect USB drivers on cl14 and just froze did everything over and over again but nothing any help to get past this I even added the patch still nothing

@crashit1080 reinstall the CL14 thing. I even put the "patch" exe in the description a couple weeks ago. i am sorry you're having trouble. if that doesn't work, uninstall all samaung drivers, reboot, and then run swupgrade and it will put the right drivers on your computer
@polobear71 i need to put a dll file in the description when I get home. I don't have an issue and I don't have to do this, but there is a hacked dll that should work for you. i use version 1.0.001 on Swupgrade and like I said, I don't need to do it

THEN COPY the one you just downloaded to that folder, without unzipping it or anything. There should just be the ONE and ONLY file that you put in there, AFTER you have cleaned that folder out. THEN run swupgrade
I got a question..... i just finished do everything you did on the video to my samsung moment and it works great, but something that changed was that i cant use my wi-fi .... i go to the wi-fi settings and i turn it on but it cant scan for anything because its says its unable to scan for networks.... i dont know what to do... any help?

@baemiller yup! I just made a newer video on how to install android 2.2.2 on the moment (froyo) and it had NEVER been rooted before. You just need to use a computer to get custom recovery on your phone, after that, it's all based on just using your phone and your sdcard.

@oblackstarz7 start by uninstalling all samsung usb drivers, rebooting, and reinstalling the official ones. That has helped a TON of people. for the moment, i would suggest googling "easy tether" and then clicking the link to the far right that says "samsung phones require additional drivers" and installing those
My moment is rooted with SDX_DL25_Kernel ,SDX .Fyoyo.OMEGA.2.1 ,S:M900.8.OS.Dj07 and won't tether with none of the apps on the market it keep saiying error I need help

@misfits559 if you uninstalled all samsung usb drivers, rebooted, and installed usb drivers and it doesn't work, then it MIGHT be your usb cable dude! If you can't use that USB cable to mount your sdcard to your computer, then you might have a CHARGE only usb cable. if your sure that's not true, it might just be a bad cable. if all else fails, try and use someone elses computer and see if all goes well.

@misfits559 is it in debugging mode? go to menu, applications, development, and enable usb debugging. make sure your disconnected from the computer. once you enable debugging, then plug the cable in.

Hi, After I did all the steps, everything is working fine, but YOUTUBE is having an error. I have to force close it and I tried to watch videos in the browser and it didn't work either.
Awesome vid, I was able to root my phone in less than 30 minutes! There is only one thing, I can't seem to find my Sprint Navigation app. I did notice that this Rom does away with other Sprint "bloatware," i.e. Nascar and NFL but, I definitely need my GPS. Is there any way to get it back? Once again, thanks!

@crashit1080 reinstall the CL14 thing. I even put the "patch" exe in the description a couple weeks ago. i am sorry you're having trouble. if that doesn't work, uninstall all samaung drivers, reboot, and then run swupgrade and it will put the right drivers on your computer

@supzer12 you HAVE to install the CL14 program. Then if you did and you have a 64 bit computer, it will be in the x86 program folder.

@polobear71 i need to put a dll file in the description when I get home. I don't have an issue and I don't have to do this, but there is a hacked dll that should work for you. i use version 1.0.001 on Swupgrade and like I said, I don't need to do it

@nicktibbets SORRY. If you installed CL14 and didn't remove the DJ07 tar that was in there, that's why you are stock.

@nicktibbets yeah, just make sure you go to this folder, C:\Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade\Models\Binary and delete whatever is in there. THEN COPY the one you just downloaded to that folder, without unzipping it or anything. There should just be the ONE and ONLY file that you put in there, AFTER you have cleaned that folder out. THEN run swupgrade

I got a question..... i just finished do everything you did on the video to my samsung moment and it works great, but something that changed was that i cant use my wi-fi .... i go to the wi-fi settings and i turn it on but it cant scan for anything because its says its unable to scan for networks.... i dont know what to do... any help?

Maybe other people have your problem. I didn't have that problem, so I am sorry, but I can't help you. I hope you understand. @baemiller yup! I just made a newer video on how to install android 2.2.2 on the moment (froyo) and it had NEVER been rooted before. You just need to use a computer to get custom recovery on your phone, after that, it's all based on just using your phone and your sdcard.

@oblackstarz7 start by uninstalling all samsung usb drivers, rebooting, and reinstalling the official ones. That has helped a TON of people. for the moment, i would suggest googling "easy tether" and then clicking the link to the far right that says "samsung phones require additional drivers" and installing those

i fixed it bro it wasnt to hard but thanks for the info all i had to do was reboot it and put a different file for the rom and also put a custon turn on screen so it was pretty easy

hey dude this video is great & accurate..thanks! :)...............but theres a problem..b4 i rooted my phone, it was working fine with less glitches & well nothing else i guess..but now since i rooted it, it glitch more, the text messages is being dumb sometimes, & it'll cut me off of sprint service & the web.. then i have to take out the battery & restart the phone again..it pisses me off!!! is there like a better updated files i can use?? plz help! hehe..thanks!

@misfits559 if you uninstalled all samsung usb drivers, rebooted, and installed usb drivers and it doesn't work, then it MIGHT be your usb cable dude! If you can't use that USB cable to mount your sdcard to your computer, then you might have a CHARGE only usb cable. if your sure that's not true, it might just be a bad cable. if all else fails, try and use someone elses computer and see if all goes well.

@misfits559 It does it with android 2.1 unrooted to the easiest way I do it is switch it on airplane mode (it should fail) then press it again and it'll restore service wierd I know :/

@misfits559 is it in debugging mode? go to menu, applications, development, and enable usb debugging. make sure your disconnected from the computer. once you enable debugging, then plug the cable in.

Awesome vid, I was able to root my phone in less than 30 minutes! There is only one thing, I can't seem to find my Sprint Navigation app. I did notice that this Rom does away with other Sprint "bloatware," i.e. Nascar and NFL but, I definitely need my GPS. Is there any way to get it back? Once again, thanks!
