@xblueskyxx1 This is a real monk. I think what you are looking for is "where is the version of a Buddhist monk 'I' think should be?"
Listen to what is said, not how it is said. The 'how' is just a different way to convey the same information. If you listen, you'll find that the 'what' is the exact same as the staid, boring movie versions of Buddhist monks you're probably thinking of.
Buddhas aren't like angels that fly down and bless you with holiness and tell you what to do. They are humans like you that have exited the life circle of sufferring and choose to come back to help others achieve their enlightenment because they feel compassion for the hurt of living things. They come in periods where there is plenty to eat and people have time to think while living their normal lives.
It's amazing! But aren't our Gurus the Buddha and talking to him and associating with him will bring us closer to Buddhahood. We definitely can't see Buddhas directly now but we can see our Gurus right?
Those who really have visions of the Buddhas will never advertise it and rather not talk about it unless it will really benefits. There are famous leaders of cults that say they have tea with the Buddha says a lot about their purpose...
LOL. That is cute. I think Rinpoche is talking about having or claiming to have visions of Buddhas. We talk to our Buddha statues all the time when we do our Sadhana what.
This is great teaching on Blessing topic. A blessing is something (holy) that open us our disposition that we have in the past and wants to do something good in our life. I love this teaching. Thank you. Time :4:00
People who claimed to see Buddhas and Bodhisattvas must be on the 3rd stage or higher on the Bodhisattva path. That means they already have quite high level of attainments to be able to see. Otherwise, are those visions real?
ntadk: Hahahaha That means they have to go to English Setrap Puja at 8 PM in KH2 or Chinese Setrap Puja Tuesday 8PM. Can clear spirit obstacles and collect lots of merit.
Hey even Lama Tsongkhapa don't believe that he is really seeing Manjushri when he appeared in a sacred vision until confirmed by his Lama Umapa. What about some of us who claim we dream of Buddhas and holy beings.
There days many people claim to see Buddhas and spirits. They claim to be special and get their attention that way. I dunno but there is no way to check so I just don't pay attention and usually prefer to divert the conversation to something else...
It was so funny watching this video. nowadays, everyone who go to Temples, Church or any holy places, they are praying for something, for example, pray for money, pray for love, pray for good career and etc etc.....Actually Buddha is inside our heart, we dont need to pray to Buddha to grant us any wish, whatever thing we deserve in our life, is all depends whether we have enough merits to own it or not.....
0:27 "these people, where they live...has power." I assume that's why Rinpoche brings his students on pilgrimage? Because through their attainments and practice, they imbued the places they live in with their holiness. Also their belongings, like the ones on KecharaDOTcom, imbued with their holy spirit.
1:15 Guess what the Buddha said today? Fly a kite HAHAHA hilarious! I wish I lived in Malaysia! Rinpoche's students are so lucky to have him there!
2:30 from Rinpoche's teachings on YouTube or on TsemTulkuDOTcom, he's never encouraged all that stuff has he, seeing deities and talking to spirits, that kind of thing. He always says it's so esoteric and pointless if it doesn't further your spiritual practice. I totally agree, I can imagine how it would be distracting. You just forget the main purpose - to gain inner attainments through practice - because you focus on getting more visions, seeing more deities, and telling people that you can.
If I don't know you, I would have thought I walked into a stand-up comic show. Well done Rinpoche. This is so clear and crisp I will remember for a long time
I am really amazed because in my life, I have never met someone who can explain phenomena so well, and I have to totally agree with whatever Tsem Rinpoche said.
And a short 9 minutes video like this, we can learn so much about Buddhadharma. I am veery very impressed and I would like to learn more.!
Of course! If even Angulimala, who created so much harm and hurt so many people, and even wanted to kill the Buddha, could gain some attainments, of course there's hope for us! :) Rinpoche taught before that one of the ways to catch a glimpse of our Buddhanature is when you do something kind for someone, sincerely and without motive. The happiness we feel in doing so is our inherent compassionate selves, because our act touches our deepest core. Even the most evil people have someone they love!
If you check out the rest of Rinpoche's videos, or his website tsemtulkuDOTcom, you'll see that Rinpoche has always told us we can be Buddhas. That's why he wants to attract all the 'alternative' people whom society normally dismisses as a 'lost cause', because they are the people who need the most help hahaha! Hence Kechara House promotes alternative Buddhism for alternative people!
Rinpoche also relates disposition to blessings, when that disposition is activated, and we realise there's more in life than what we are doing, and that we want to develop higher quality, that is a blessing.
A blessing: Something opens your disposition and influences you to the positive way.
Those actions that we've done are gone, but (the) results is in our mind, it's dormant ---> What a good and simple explanation about karma, that leads to the phenomena of the law of cause and effect, and also karmic imprints.
I like how Rinpoche can explains why holy items are holy --> the mind that has developed to that level (of attainment); and therefore that mind can affect that body. Therefore that body can affect the environment around them, and therefore makes it holy.
I was there at this talk, but every time I listened to Rinpoche's talk, it was as if I am listening to it for the first time, because there's always things to learn and to remind ourselves of.
Yes I agree. I listened to many of Rinpoche' s teachings already, and some I listened to it over and over again, but every time I listen to it, different points stuck out in my mind.
Isn't it amazing?? I love it! More teachings Rinpoche!!!!
This is very very funny, but it's true. Many people thought seeing spirits etc is an ATTAINMENT, but they don't realise this is due to manifestation of negative karma.
Hence, many in their own delusion, they thought they have achieved certain attainment.
Thank you Tsem Rinpoche for pointing this. I have always thought about this question but nobody could answer me!
At 4 mins plus into the video, Rinpoche also spoke about the holy sites: the place where Buddha was born, where Buddha became enlightened, where Buddha gave His first Dharma talk, and where Buddha entered parinirvana.
This is a very profound teaching! Sometimes in our everyday lives we over look the common miracles that happen. To encounter a Buddha image or that of a Dharma-protector or a holy object like a stupa is incredibly beneficial. Not everyone has heard of the Buddha. Not everyone knows of enlightenment. But to have those karmic potentials active in our lives is truly a blessing!
I love this video especially in the 2nd minute! I have checked out Don't EMBARRASS the Buddha!!! too. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is just so cool! Thank you for sharing!
OMG Rinpoche is incredibly hilarious 1 min into the video!! HEH HEH.
And the bit about karma, cause and effect halfway thru is what Rinpoche always teaches us to believe in. If we believed and practiced it, our life will take such a turn for the better. In this way, Dharma is applicable to all, not just for Buddhists!!
Very good teachings from Rinpoche. We dont need to talk to Buddha or pray for something, coz Buddha knows what we want, and its all depend whether we got the merits to get it. In Advice From Atisha's Heart says --> If the things you desire do not come it is due to karma created long ago, therefore keep a happy and relaxed mind. && If you practice with great devotion, results will arise immediately, without your having to wait for a long time. Conclusion, Practise Dharma & Dont Wait....
Rinpoche speaks powerfully about karmic imprints and blessings midway through this video. It helped me deal with how I've felt ever since I met my Guru and does explain my radical change of perspective.
Rinpoche really explains it well and it's no wonder that he has inspired many people to work for the Dharma full time. Do look at Rinpoche's other teachings on neonlama[dot]com
that's nice. when karmic imprints open up, lots of things will happen. Karmic imprints are the potential of what can happen. If the conditions are not right, the potentials will be wasted. This is the reason why we need to create the correct conditions in order for good things to come our way. kecharahouse[dot]com
when we benefit other people, like really giving in all our effort to serve the homeless is one of the best ways that we can practice spirituality, not seeing visions of Buddhas and whatnot. They are definetely fake because what have really done to deserve their assistance?
what's the point of seeing Buddhas or hearing them talk to you? does your mind change for the better or it makes it worse? It's better to ignore those visions as ordinary people like us cannot see them but highly attained beings like HH Dalai Lama probally can everyday yet he dosent tell anyone about it. tsemtulku(dot)com
sometimes, people have delusions of grandeur and imagine that they have seen Buddhas or have heard them talk. this is actually not possible at our level because we have too much karmic obscurations to be able to see them. Therefore when someone claims that they can see Buddhas, it is definetely fake. neonlama(dot)com
In some instances, we feel so holy and enligtened after reading a few books and listening to a few talks here and there and start telling everyone about our mystical experience on how we are oh so special and so much better than everyone else...when in reality all we want is attention and praise just like the average joe who does not do any practice at all. more about Rinpoche: tsemtulku(dot)com
which is why you should commentmore for more videos to come up since you are encouraging the people who post them up. Let them know that you REALLY love the videos and appreciate their effort!
I am very impressed with his energies and determination to show the people, how they/we could help ourselves consciously. I love his direct way of teaching. Simply great!!!
thats why he's a Rinpoche and not us. He's a Tulku/Rinpoche because he has limitless determination and energy.I really inspire to be like him, but I guess the road to that destination would most probally be long and hard...
yea but not everyone can take it tho, although this is exactly what they need. A good teacher tells you off when you're wrong...and I believe TTR is one of those strongly :)

Yes, tsemiscool. Tsem Rinpoche said in the video that we have the potential to be a Buddha.
But again, how much we practice and how quick we have results, is dependant on effort, and how much imprint we have in our previous lives.

"We have many types of karma stored away in our mind, and we need an environmental condition to open it up".
