My first impressions of Barry where with Somewhere in Time, a Film I believe was all the more touching with his fabulous music, This track I first heard bieng played by a Scots Pipe Band in Lincoln Castle Grounds about 4 years ago, now you talk about sopine chilling, the hairs on my neck stood on end as the pipers treated this score with digmity and reespect. I s ther any recordings of a Pipe Band Playing this score. Abs Brilliant and I never tire of listening to it.

John Barry has always been a favorite composer to me. From "Out of Africa" to "Moonraker", he demonstrates a great versatility. His dual melody line themes are quite recognizable to me and quite enjoyable.

Ive been listening to this cd since it came out in 1990.. i had trouble sleeping as a child i was about 9 and my mother got it for me after seeing the movie.. i listened to it every night and still do to this day.. whenever im stressed and i cant sleep i listen to this CD it cant be beat!

Hell even my cat passes out within 5 minutes.. its a cure for insomnia LOL

every thing is good, but the original score and songs were composed by John Barry, not Enya nor Yanni, i really love this two artist but this must be fixed, John Barry is who wrote this music.

5735740 is right, John Barry won the 1991 Academy Award for Best Original Score and the 1992 Grammy Award for "Best Instrumental Composition Written for a Motion Picture or for Television" for that movie's soundtrack. Yanni is my all-time favorite composer and Enya my all-time favorite vocalist, but they had nothing to do with Dances With Wolves. I don't know why you would put their names here. John Barry deserves credit for this beautiful piece.

Or it's possible that runapa 1949 actually thought Enya and Yanni wrote this music. Unban legends get started by somebody saying something s/he believes and someone else hears it and doesn't bother to check, and passes it on. I'd bet money that all of us believe something we'd be surprised to find is untrue, that we haven't bothered to check. Of course, it WOULD be advisable to check before putting it on Youtube. ;)
