  • my high e string alwas breaks when i re string it =( so any tips how i can avoid that?

  • @ShiningRedMoon get a guitar without a whammy bar

  • @Johnnyboy414 thats a good one ;) i love my telecaster more than my floyd guitar hehe :)

  • i'm not ready to go cuz the guitar is not properly tuned

  • Not pointless at all.

  • HOLY SHITBALLS!

  • 2:43 thats what I said.

  • does anyone know of a video of someone changing the tuning machines on their guitar? preferabley one with the classical style machines? i cant find one

  • @801Current unscrew the machine heads. And then install the new ones. You might have to fill the holes.

  • any of you tested Olay's most recent range of products? there very good , i keep on buy more! did you know u can get no cost samples of makeup through 'Gratis Makeup Samples'. i recently got the samples on 03/12/2010.

  • LAME!

  • Mistic is right! What a goober! If you don't stretch the string before you lock the nut you will never stay in tune!

  • He forgot to fucking stretch the string!!! =O e_O

  • 0:00

  • i have that same bc rich bronze warlock!!!!!

  • why have video if we cant frickin see it

  • this guy isnt an expert and i bet he doesnt even live in a village

  • Even with a double locking tremolo I still always take the string throught the post and bring it under and loop over the string entering the tuner so the string is never gonna slip. Cant hurt right?

  • Thanks broseff.

  • what about a kahler ?

  • this dosend work 4 me my guitar has a difrent wammy so how do i do it

  • @bradhome10 then its not a floyd rose is it its just an ordinary tremelo bridgeso you need a new video

  • before you o anything put your fine tuners about about half

  • you dont have to remove the ball end, you can also feed the string through the tuning peg and cut it at the bridge before locking it

  • ive gotten an kirk hammet signature KH-202 ESP it is freaking awesome but i hate changing the strings...... such a pain

  • at 1:06 when he says "just let it go" dont do that. put something under the screws to keep it up or else your spring tension will get fucked up.

  • Comment removed

  • I got the wound strings changed but I'm having some problems with the 3 bottom strings, they keep breaking when I'm tightening the screw I hear about 3 clicks, did I overtightened them or is that normal?

  • same on mine :( but i fixed it this way. push down the tremolo bar so theres not too much tension on the strings, then tighten the screw and loose the tremolo bar so that you get the tension back on your strings. i hope that helped.on my guitar it woks :)

  • u shud not hear clicks at all so i am guessing u are WAY overtightening it

  • you shouldn't be forcing it to tighten. tighten until it gets a little hard to turn

  • @SantaWithTeeth Clicking means that the strings are starting to break...

  • Yeah lol I kinda found that out on my own. But I do know how to change the strings now, as I asked that 2 months ago but thanks anyways.

  • @DanteGuitar Not always, in many cases it's because the strings are binding. It's a very annoying sound that chapstick can fix.

  • @TheMadMusicMan Yes, but it doesn't seem like an ideal fix. I imagine chapstick could corrode the strings.

  • @DanteGuitar It's a very ideal fix. Stevie Ray Vaughn's tech did exactly that, it's a lubricate. It's not going to corode strings. But, you know better than Rene don't you...

  • @TheMadMusicMan You're quite mad to insist upon such things. :P

  • hope you can help me, i own a ibanez rgr320ex, the trem is a edge III, and it always looses the proper leveling, it over levels, what can i do?

  • at the end he's not Soo much ready to Go , he need to RE TUNE his guitar .

  • I need quick help ... I took my new guitar strings, as usual, the old strings arranged strings attached new tune, and suddenly I see that the tremolo is much too high and I did NOT use thick strings to ... I do not understand it, I ask for help = (

  • this helped! thanks!

  • actually this was usefull!

  • I dont know what im doing wrong, every time i get a new guitar its the same problems, rattling, buzzing always on the 5th and 6th string, ive lowered, ive lifted, i cant get rid of it. makes my guitar sound like a tinny piece of crap. i have a brian may red special and abc rich warlock. i cant keep paying a repair guy to sort it, what can i do ive tried everything i can think of. red special guitars have dual rods?? i dont know what i can do

  • Same here! My high e string is jammed in the bridge of the guitar and i need some real help and i may end up getting someone to do it for me as i try everything and none of my ideas work.

  • im thinking it cant be a fret issue like the frets uneven because its always the same 1 or 2 string 5th and 6th, i wounder am i to heavy handed? im on size 9 strings now, im gonna see what happens when i go up to 10 gauge

  • same shit man idk

  • hmm. and you've tried raising and lowering the action? warlocks tend to have that problem. adjust your truss rods so its level with the strings and stretch your strings out. also check the bridge to make sure intonation is right,

  • Blame your amplifier.I had the same problem with my mg30 marshal amp.Now that I use Native Instruments' guitar rig 3 with lots of distortion and effects the noise from the 6th e string is gone.(still using the same amp,but the distortion is made by the guitar rig hardware/software.)

  • maybe the problem is NOT in the guitar, but in your amp or cable.

  • it was my truss rod, it was not installed correctly, and the hex nut was not made right, thats according to my local tech guy

  • what is that noise he makes at 4:35?

  • how many times do the strings wrap around the pegs?

  • i'd go three or four.

  • really helpful. i was pretty lost on what to do with an old hand me down strat thats got a floyd on it. thanks

  • it could be a multitude of things. can you explain further?

  • put all the fine tuners in the middle position, block the bridge, tune it how you want to play it, you may have to keep tuning it till it stays in tune, once it stays in tune lock the nut, if the bridge is sinking loosen the spring tension, if it is rising tighten it, make sure the twelfth fret harmonic and fretted note match, if they don't you have to adjust the saddle depending on if it's sharp or flat, after you do that tune up again and lock the nut

  • Uh yeah, just forget to stretch them out lol

  • If he didn't have that tape there at 0:58, he'd be fucked. lol

  • No mention whatsoever on keeping the bridge parallel to the guitar...

6 videos I've checked, and none of them have been fully correct. It's no wonder so many people with a floating bridge wonder hwy their guitar isn't sounding as good as it should :|

  • pls can u make a demo i reely need to replace my strings

  • Unfortunately I don't have a camera that's battery lasts more than 2 minutes... Otherwise, I would.

  • did this moron actually tell us to bend the string in order to cut the ball off? I am very quickly losing respect for this guy the more videos I see of him!

  • dude all expert village videos are useless to the highest degree

  • @justinkisafag why are you watching it then?

    ZING!!!!

  • @dodo4hire i guess i do pretty stupid shit when i'm bored out of my mind

  • @justinkisafag go play guitar?

  • @dodo4hire touche good sir

  • you dont need to clip off the ball end you just have to feed the sting into the tuner in away so that the ball end wraps aroun tthe tuner but with the E A D string you will havfe to clip off thge ecsess core wire at the end

  • thats exactly wut i do with my B.C. Rich mockingbird... the top 3 i feed thru the tuners then i clip the ball ends for the bottom three....

  • Hey guys, Im gonna buy an "Ibanez RG350DX" with a Edge III Tremolo.

What do you guys think? This will be my first guitar with a tremolo. Will there be any difference when im changing the strings and is there any information i should know about before i buy it? Please help me here. Thanks!

  • Hi....i have had that guitar for about 6 months now...and i would reccomend it.

it was my first one with a temolo bridge as well and i found it fairly simple with tuning and everything....

and there is a big difference when changing strings because of the tremolo...it makes it alot harder...but you will get used to it.

thats about it really...other than troubles that occur with other tremlos (re-stringing and tuning it) its a really good guitar..

  • Thanks. good to know stuff :) i realy like the guitar so i WILL buy it in a week :) :D :P <3

  • No problem...and have fun when you get...and learn all the cool tricks with the tremlo bridge.

i spent about a week just learning how to make weird noises with the guitar rather than actually playing it :L

  • is getting a floyd rose with a guitar with emg's good for screams and stuff?

  • im not sure about the pickups tbh because i hardly know anything about them...

but usually its easy enough to do screams and squeels with most floyd rose systems no matter the pickups (unless they are like really cheap pickups)

i jusst use the ones that my guitar came with, which are the Ibanez INF4/3 and they are good at doing squeels.

    if that helped. :)

  • I have that guitar, It was my first guitar with a tremelo, It's freaking awesome man, I still use it today. One thing you should know, When changing the strings you may need to tighten the springs depending on the string thickness. If you don't the tremelo will keep floating higher and higher.

  • no difference

  • you dont have to cut the ball end off,. you can just reverse install the string... or buy speedloaders meant for the FR

  • thank you very much!!!!!

  • it's easier than steal sweets to a kid :D

  • is it compulsory to remove the lock-nut?

  • yeah seem's like it would be really easy to adjust for more string tension.

  • dude the edge is pretty much the ibanez nock off of the floyd rose and the floyd rose with a certain type of model u can go to drop D

  • ya, but to be honest with you, its an excellent trem for the price, ofrs are monumentally expensive compared to ibanez edges, and its obviously not a bad trem if steve vai uses it, not to sound like a tool or anything :P

  • cuz with a floyd u cant put the strig in from the back of the guitar so cuttin off that part of the string is required to cut off that part

  • THAT HELPED SOO MUCH!!!

  • i have a wiener

  • sexy guitar

  • NIIICE warlock i got mine at a pawn shop lmao....80 bucks......srry if im mistaken....i HOPE its a warlock....=]

  • its easy to change one string its when you have to do the whole set and your trem goes flat then all hell breaks loose if you dont know what ya doing its a nightmare, if theres an easier way someone please post a clip :) laters!x

  • if you dont frequently use the floyd and constantly change the tuning of your guitar, is it okay to not have the locks on the nut at all, or atleast have it just loose?

Im deciding if it is worth getting the esp mh250 with or without the floyd.

    THNKS :D

  • Okey. Tomorrow I'm changing strings on my Floyd. I'm going to change from .09 to .10.

So I was wondering: Is there anything I should know before I do that? Any heads up for things I can do wrong?

  • the only thing that you'd probably have to do is adjust the bridge

there are alot of good websites that expolain how to do it

  • and this y if i ever had the money to buy a new guitar i would never buy a guitar with a floyd rose in it

  • I hate the floyd Rose trem. And my guitar came used without a tremolo bar on it, so I'm stuck with the bridge trem.

  • let me ask you is the ibaneze a floyd rose guitar ??

  • Ibanez's have ibanez trems on them. They have some different names for them but basically they're Ibanez brand, I've heard they're better than floyd's.

  • how much would a new ibanez RG1570 cost ?? if u know

  • haha im sorry dude but thats the funniest thing ive ever heard, better for people that dont know what their doing (aka how to use a floyd style trem, tuning setting up etc) yea, for people the know how a floyd style trem works, no, in fact ibanez trems have gotten worse reviews than licensed floyds have and licensed floyds suck

  • Like I stated, word of mouth. My friend has the 450.00 rg and said it was alright. I'm getting a floyd though just because it's already on the guitar I want.

  • not word of mouth, experience, ive had 7 different ibanezs over the last 3 or 4 years (leaning more towards 4) and the trems on them (from the edge to the zr) has not kept a tune cant squeal right and 3 of them even snapped in half

  • Well why did you continue to buy them then?

  • for the most part they were gifts, and a couple were mad cheap and i couldnt pass it up simply cause worse comes to worse (which it did) i could just swap out the trem for a floyd (which i did)

  • the ibanez on this vid is, I don't own an ibanez. I have a Kramer Vanguard, but it has a licensed Floyd Rose tremolo. I already changed the strings, but it was a bitch because the nuts on the bottom where the allen wrench fits were stripped out, but I got them done.

  • is the kramer v good for metal ?? i am looking for a good guitar for metal but i am on budget lol ,so what do you suggest ??

  • I've watched quiet a few expert village videos and experts they are not.

  • true. I changed my strings without their vid to show me how. It's better to do it yourself than to look it up, that way you know what you're doing.

  • i have an rg350mdx with an edge 3 tremolo but it gets referred to as floyd rose, and i had it readjusted so that it plays in drop d. only problem is now i have action that is a bit too high for me to play fast. anyway i could adjust the action without messing anything up? and it seems like the bridge was moved up. like 1/4 an inch over the body

  • Replace springs? if you have 3 put 4. that would lower the action

  • he forgot to stretch the string. that string will come out of tune as soon as he uses the whammy

  • OMG this guy can't even change a string.

He doesn't know how to wind the first wrap "above the string hole" then the rest under the hole , to lock the string in place.

This kid is far from an expert.....sorry

Same story on his truss rod adjust video.

    More like village I#$%t lol

  • You truthfully don't need to do that. There is absolutely no tension on the extra string once it is wrapped around the peg.

  • maybe youll know about this, tell me i always cut the fuckin high e string when tightening it always !!,and the last time it cut while i was loosening it ,could it be me setting the string wrong in the first place ?? if so ,how do it the right way ??

  • if its breaking at the bridge you could possibly be tightening the block in the saddle too much and crimping the string and breaking it that way. or the saddle could be nicked or grooved in such a way that there is a sharp corner that will be cuttiing the string. if there is any corrosion on the saddle that could cause a problem as well. look closely at the saddle if its not smooth as it goes into the block then that the problem.

  • You would have better harmonics if you twisted the string when winding it on the tuning peg. You will get better response when playing with that Floyd Rose.

  • Thanks[:

  • but will the octave stay the same? you don't have to set it again?

  • where can i get a tool for the lock nut?

  • its usually an allan key

u can get em at home depot or anywhere like that.

  • bc rich.... but ugly..

  • What is the right angle and height a warlock bridge should be and what difference does it make to the sound?

  • any locking tremolo you want the string tension to be equal with the tension on the springs that pull on the bridge and have the bridge level with the guitar body, so no angle is what you should have.

  • omg he's got a Zombie *_* i love this guitar shape...

    thx for the detailed video

  • Thanks! Hard to find a video to teach you how to change guitar strings on guitars with whammy bars, most only teaches you how to change only on guitars with fixed bridge, greatly appreciated!

  • Thanks Expertvillage!!!!

  • If only it were that easy. I have to restring, set the trem to flat level through tuning and then fine tune. No way would yoube able to put the locking nuts back on and then just play

  • K, idk what is going on.

i took the locking nuts off to tune the fat E to a D and when i locked it back up every other string was out of tune and so i finally have the strings in tune( more or less) and now i have fret buzz on the 20th fret and some other...does anyone know how to fix this?

  • I was scared before buying RR24 with OFR, because of guys screaming around about terrifying srting change. That was in fact easy as hell, just be patient. For me changing from 9-46 in E to 10-52 gauge in D tuning was fun. It just had a lot of screws to deal with.

  • that easy? i thought is is really difficult to change string on a guitar with whammy bar ?

  • thanks

  • fAG?

  • tht bc rich mokingbird reminds me of dave mustaine's bc rich

  • hahahahaha

its not a mockingbird i think its a zombie

  • Okey. so whats the big thing? everybody talking about how hard it is to change the strings on that kind of guitar tremolo. Is it becous there was a lock at the head that made it moore easier than without a lock on the head?

  • no, the problem of changing the strings only happens when the bridge is too tight or too loose...because you have to tune and adjust the bridge a whole lotta times. it's not difficult, but it requires a lot of patience.

  • its hard when your not used to it but when you know what to do its easy

  • I would shove something under the floyd rose because it could lock shut from the lack of tension from the strings.

  • what bc rich is that???

  • Warbeast

  • that doesnt look like one though oh well

  • its a zombie

  • its a zombie

  • thnx dude

  • its a zombie

  • i get that thnx anyway

  • it's a zombie.

  • its a zombie

  • can I install a Floyd Rose SpeedLoader system on my guitar. It doesnt have a spot in it and I dont know what to do. Anybody have any suggestions please ?

  • you can have someone doe it for you or just bust dimebag and do it yourself

  • my bad i meant bust a dimebag

  • So your saying I should get a dimebag after Im done with my B.C. RICH

  • lol no hes referring to how dimebag just screwed around with his guitar

    but i wouldnt do that

take it to a guitar shop as them about it

and if they can and you have the cash for both the Floydrose speedloader and the labor for him working on your guitar,be sure to watch and learn from him ask him questions you may have

    the more knowlege the better

  • hey dude can you tel me whats' wrong with my gutiar the whole high e string from frets 8 to 16 buzz

  • try screwing the whammy bar more in or more out

  • Theres no person near me in arkansas that does stuff like that

  • Haha, ok I get it.

I was trying to figure that out on my own and yeah.

    Thanks that was great.

  • jesus christ.... idk if i wanna buy a guitar w/ a locking trem anymore XD

  • it's really not all that bad. It'll take some practice at first but it's really not hard at all once you get used to it. Just make sure you don't change your string gauge unless you want to re-setup your guitar. =] I made that mistake once.

  • haha thnx. whats a reccomended string gague?

  • I usually stick with 9's or 10's. Anything too much heavier than that will require extra springs in the back, and puts a lot more stress on the trem and neck.

  • just bring it to your local guitar center to do it for you lmao

  • Yeah and they charge you what.. $50?

  • i got it for free cuz i go there every other day =P

  • Naaah pros do not remove the string near machines... at the first: youre cool, at the second, when tzhe strings fked up or sumethin near the bridge, u can use the same string.

  • you know you dont have to clip the ball end off

    O.o

  • Does anyone know where i can buy those tiny square graphite things that the string and the tightening bolts on the back go? because I was checking to see if the string was in tight enough and it just felt out?:S

  • thanks! you = win.

  • 87,206 videos!!

    wow........

  • Why did he need to bend the string before the ball end? He didn't need to do it at all, he must be stupid or something.

  • yeah you do, on a floyd rose

  • Could you tell me why? I understand that you have to clip the ball end, but why the FUCK do you have to bend the string, and clip it BEFORE the bend, that's SO unnecessary!

BTW, you can thread the string from the opposite way and have the ball end left at the tuning peg.

This guy shows us how to do this the most complicated way.

  • cuzz it loosens the tension on the strings u dumbfuck!

  • What's the difference if he clips it before the spot he bend it? If you don't understand what I'm talking about, the don't bother trying to be smart.

  • Don't think i matters that much. On mine, I clipped it closer to the nut than what he did but it still came out alright, don't think there is a real reason why he gave it so much length before he cut it.

  • It gives you extra length, that way if your string breaks at the bridge, you can re-use it.

  • no it does nothing

  • i dont think the ball would fit through the hole in the machine.

  • whats thename of the thing that helps to pull on the strings, the thing that h turns^^ it looks great xD

  • do you mean the speed winder at the top or the tremolo arm at the bottom?

  • thats a nice bc rich

  • thoughs look like violin tuners.
