I love music from the 60s,70s and 80s. But I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of criticizing music from today just for some thumbs up. Most generations will think the one previous had ill taste in music. Just let people have their own tastes I say
80s ALERT!!! Tix went on sale today for Machinations reunion Friday February 24, 2012, at the Bridge Hotel, Rozelle (Sydney). Available via Moshtix (moshtix.com.au) and the venue (02 9810 1260). This is a reasonably intimate venue so if you wanna go you need to move - there is no tour, this is it. The lineup is Fred Loneragan (vocals), Tim Doyle (guitar), Tony Starr (synthesizers), Nero Swan (bass) and John Mackay (drums). First headline show in 23 years.
This is a hot rock sexy saucey song with the ultimate groovey guitar sound!!! Whoa wawhooo yahooo makes me want to party and dance and get some romance!
This song reminds me of my youth in the 80s. Getting smashed on grog at the beer garden, having bbqs .... wearing stubby shorts, growing a mullet hair cut .... "business at the front - party at the back" ....... going around with a boom box on my shoulders ....... eating prawns and drinking crownies, taking life one day at a time.
the soundtrack of my first sexlife,( with the sandman and couger girl sam kenneally,) I scored the gold for My 1st.. every dude wanted her. yeagh love U mondo Rock!!
@bmxWHITEY im gen Y or Z or one of em and I love these types of songs alot of AC/DC for me as well better than Justin Bieber or Katy Perry or any rappers =P
always luved this song. the teenage memories just come flooding back. cant erase the smile from my face every time i hear this song. and i cant really explain it either
Really great song and a great reflection of those times in the 80s. If you think that would have been a good time to grow up, you should have a look at what was around in the 50s 60s &70s.
On this site check out Dave Warner's from the Suburbs, specifically Suburban Boy, Convict Streak and especially Mug's Game. Dave was punk when Sid Vicious was only a gleam in his father's eyes. ;-)
Brings back great memories of long warm days wandering around the Katoomba region of the Blue mountains with my bucket and shammy in early 84 - absolutely brilliant song, unfortunately totally by-passed here in the UK..
I remember all the radio stations not playing this song due to its sexual connotations and apparent under age sex...still, I love the melody in this track.
@slaphaddalztick Don't take it literally!! However, the song was subjected to radio censorship at the time. Thankfully, the demand it generated pressured the radio stations to play it...and aren't we all thankful for that.
Its good to see that everyone loves real music from a decade that changed us all and as long as we enjoy it then Justin betwerp and Idol will still suck arse.
you can argue all you want about which era had the most defining music, but like it or not, this is REAL music, wirth real guitars and drums, and singers who could sing, and didn't earn 5 minutes of fame on IDOL or YOUTUBE!!!
@gen45678910 Nope, 80s is the definitive era of music. 50s was trash. Some 60s and 70s is ok, but the heart and soul of music is THE definition of the 80s.
Beleive me, i think the whole idea of schoolies on the Gold Coast is stupid. A bunch of friends and I are going for a surfing trip up the nsw coast. So excited to finish school this year and then start the real work at Uni next year.
THIS song was banned in some markets? There was a song called "High School Confidential" by a Canadian band called "Rough Trade" that had all its "bad" parts bleeped out... it had lyrics like "she makes me cream my jeans when she walks my way" and "who's that boy - what's he doing with her? There's the principal - is he SCREWING with her?" All this was made even funnier by the fact that it was a woman singing about a girl...
@JayBoy277 Do yourself a favour and don't do schoolies at the the Gold Coast, it's a total nightmare. Get a group of your buddies together and think of something better to do.

@nerdflanders8710 I actually agree. But I never did like Mondo Rock - v. second rate band compared to others around at that time. I clicked on this to relive how awful it was. I was 16 when it came out and everyone I know thought it was stupid.
All my heart, my soul and my great memories with my EXs' on the beaches around Australian in the seventies onwards. Even now, it still brings good times and wonderful to my lovers, they let me see what I want to see and they me to be a man for them. This song has delicated too many wonderful lovers in my life and I extremely lucky to have one of the best songs from the eighties. It's suit me down to the ground. To me: HEAPS AWEMSOME AUSSIE'S songs. (^_^)
@herbie37 It was banned from radio in some parts of Australia because of the lyrics about a promiscuous girl and a guy about to lose his virginity. But Countdown (and good ol' Molly) told the censors to stick it up their @rse and ran the video anyway....

nerdflanders8710@ Well I am sorry but I think you made the typo, gen456789 is right this is one of the best songs from the eighties. This song and many other songs are AWESOME!I love this song, always have and will. I cant believe you can say that! If you don't like it why listen to it, then slam it?
I love this music from the eighties as it is "Original!"
Those are the steps to the beach at Maroubra in Sydney ... takes me back to Sydney summers in my teens ... though I was from the Northern beaches. Great song!
Nothing better then Driving up Nelson bay rd heading to stockton beach in 40 degree heat with the window down having this song blazing.. this would make sence if use were from newcastle, NSW
@2283Dr i totally know what you mean. I live in Newcastle and go to Stockton often, i love this song and feel exactly what you are saying! great 80s song, i am 18 and wasnt alive in the 80s but i sooooooooooo wish i was! i have grown up on this music and absolutely love it!

@nerdflanders8710 With a nick like 'nerdflanders8710', who are you to be throwing stones? Flanders is a mega christer on the Simpsons...and a nerd is usually celibate. Phobic much there that you cannot get into this particular song? Possibly you prefer, oh let's see, Australian Crawl with "Boys Light Up" or is that too phallocentic for you?
This song is GREAT and will remain great, where you will fade away and not even burn out. Ciao stupidissimo!!
