All the stories are actually real. They tried it with the real people but it was not working well. They hired actors to do the Real Stories.

So yes, there are actual people who are connected to these stories. Watch the extras and listen to Rob Reiner tell the story. : )

lol yeah they're just actors. but I read that the director said the stories are real...they're just actors retelling them.

That's right, I think its on the DVD, they had the idea to use real people, they filmed it... and didn't work; the rythm was off and they went on forever, so they took the stories, trimmed the a little and used pros to film the final versions.
