@mifflinfinity sorry to tell you, but race does matter. in some cases these crimes are racially motivated, and people are often targeted for a crime by their race. that's why we have something called a hate crime in this country. if some good ole boys went out and lynched a black man KKK style, would you also say color was irrelevant. don't be blind to reality for the sake of political correctness.

If this kid was just out to kill white people because he just hates white people as you have inferred, then why didn't he just shoot the first white guy/kid he saw walking down the street? @mifflinfinity and did it occur to you that she was targeted by race because there is a perception that a white person would have more money on them than a black? i'm not saying it was necessarily a hate crime... but that doesn't mean race was irrelevant. but that aside, you don't know what the motivation was. he just walked up to the car and shot her, then took her purse. for all you know it was a hate crime made to look like a robbery.

If Demarcus would've stumbled upon a wealthy appearing black, asian, or hispanic person, he still would have robbed/shot them because they looked like they had some money. White people aren't the only people with money, it's just a coincidence that she looked wealthy and was white. There are lots of poor white people in this world too.
