  • nicely done.

  • @laptopdragon

    Thanks!

    Rick

  • Gamo rifle = gamo pellets

    Diana rifle = diana pellets

    AirArms rifle = airarms pellets

    That's called logic

Gamo make pellets for gamo rifles so the best pellets for a gamo rifle are gamo pellets

  • @spinosmen

Not exactly.. I often find that the manufacture's pellets don't work the best.. In this case it did work out this way. I gave this gun away to a family member.. I've regretted it, but I have a 220 that I'll be showing soon.. may be a few months.

    Cheers

    rick

  • @G0left

Being 3 years ago.. I don't have a clue.. Just the generic out of the tin JSB that I bought from PA years ago.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • @FletchTK

No i don't.. I have a 220 that I need to get back from my ranch and do some testing with.. I may be much later this year, but I'll get to it.

    cheers

    Rick

  • I want to buy this rifle its €191 at the weapons dealer that's $265

    My qeustion is.

Is this dealer cheap or expensive for this particular rifle?

Going to be my first rifle aswel

  • @nate045

I paid $200 for mine here in the states 4+ years ago.. I'm guessing that $265 is not a terrible price.. but I don't know the airgun environment where you are... check around and see if anyone else has it for less.. that is what I would do.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb Thanks i did.

This was the cheapest in the netherlands as what i found.

Got it just an hour ago.

    Love it.

Gonna go and shoot a few targets now.

    Thanks

    Erick.

  • Excuse me Sr. ...( well, I'm From Mexico so my english is not very good, but I'm really trying my best)...

so, I wanna buy a hunter 220 by gamo, my question is... is the hunter 220 a good rifle?

what can you tell me about it?

    Thanks...

    xD

  • @Dude458F1

    I have a 220.. it is a great gun.. I love mine.

    Rick

  • Yeah, Ofcourse I Will...

    xD

  • where did u get the crosman lead free wadcutters? ive only seen them on hollow point and pointed

  • @christianhunter96

I picked them up a while ago.. I'm not sure if they are still available.

    Rick

  • @christianhunter96 you can get them at walmart

  • At 0:12 if you watch closely you can see the pellet fly by.

  • Hello i have a Gamo pistol, and what type of pellets are the best ? Please show me a picture. Thank you.

  • @vitommarques

good question... I've really never shot a gamo pistol.. Maybe I'll get to one someday.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb Try Gamo Promagnum, Crossman premier domed and gamo pro match...

    xD

  • @Dude458F1

Hey there.. this video is over 2 years old.. and I no longer have this rifle. If those pellets ever work the best in my other tests, you'll see them.

    Rick

  • You seem quite honest and unbiased, do enjoy watching your reviews / tests keep up the good work!

  • where were the RWS meisterkugeln?

  • the gammo rocket ammo is a good varmit round i took out a raccon with it one time

  • great testings.. are you able to do a test on the h&n/beeman crow magnums?

  • @222camcam

Not with this rifle anymore. I gave it to my brother-in-law.

    Rick

  • mouth dont move with audio

  • i just got my gamo hunter 440 air gun and it shoots one round at a time how does yours shoot that fast?

  • @ilikecheeseandnachos

I edit out all the dead space.

    Rick

  • good testing!!!

  • something i just found out about youtube- if you click 4 times on the video, it will go to fullscreen.

  • Thank you very much for diligence!

  • @paranoiac789

    you are most welcome.

    Rick

  • i had the hunter 890 and it was crap it broken down twice and the wood is fragile the meter shred the wood completly

  • Good review there mate.

As far as accuracy goes, and if you can get them over the pond, get some Air arms fields. Tad expensive but really good pellets as far as accuracy goes.

  • @Weihrauch88

Yep.. I hope to once I move to AZ.

    rick

  • @Weihrauch88 funny i was looking at this gun gonna go and buy it tomorrow and the bloke said about the air arms being the best one for it but a tad expensive at 13.00 quid lol not really if im spending 200 quid on a gun :D

  • i love the field points as well. nickel groups at 20 yards with the big cat

  • surprisingly good pellets.. for being so inexpensive.

    Rick

  • thanks it will really help a lot

  • thats fine but i was just wondering about the pellets generally not in any specific gun ..............but if possible you should try them in a whisper deluxe

  • I'll see what I can do..

    :)

    Rick

  • can you please do a reveiw on the jsb predator polymag pellets for accuracy and speed as well as maximum effective range............

  • I can't with this gun anymore.. I gave it away.. but I'll look at them at some point.

    Rick

  • i sthe 440 wt gamo 22 a good gun?

  • my guess would be yes.

    Rick

  • i have benn shooting for a long time and i have only used a 100% lead cheap pellet. I recently got a rem vantage 1200 so you need a heavy pellet. 1200fps. They are Daisy Precision Max flat nosed pellets. They are really accurate with good consistency. The longest i have had the opportunity to shoot until spring was about 60 to 70 yards. They are dead on middle of a can no keyhole i wouldnt suggest for more than 6 yards for your gun because they are really heavy

  • I have a vantage coming in .. we'll see.

    Rick

  • i was extremely lucky to get it because you cant buy it where i live and the store had one on mistake so i am sooooooo lucky

  • cool gun man

  • Rick thanks for testing the Crossman Premier Hollow Points. I have seen them around but I thought they were "cheap" type pellets. Once you called them your favorite I bought some and gave them a try. WHAT A GREAT PELLET. I am new to spring air guns and currently have a Gamo 440 with a Center point 4-16X40. Overkill scope I know, but I love it. I will order the trigger you suggested next because I like your testing method and suggests. Thanks again for the tips.

  • my pleasure!

    Rick

  • can some one please reccomende some lead-free pellets that preform well, reply on my channel page Thank you very much,

  • I have not found any yet... but I'm always looking.

    Rick

  • all break down guns suck.. whats the point of a scope on these guns when you break the breal down and pull it back up its off sight

  • NOT TRUE.. If it is machined properly and tight tolerances are followed, break barrel guns can be VERY accurate. I have shot some that held .25" groups at 25 yards.. most .22LR can't do that...

    Rick

  • Rick, can you do a review on the Gamo Hunter 220?

  • I can ask Gamo for one and see what they do...

    Rick

  • Thanks

  • i have a gamo big cat 1200 and ull probly not belive this i had to show my friend but i can shoot 5 pba raptors and hit the same hole everytime!!!! when i was done the actual hole was bout 3/4 the siz of a quater but i spent three hours sighting my scope lol its the most accurate i have

  • im dont getting how you thought about which pellet are good. there was one grouping that was almost all together in the center and but you deiced the last pellet was the best?

  • If you heard him in the part 1 video, He did not

    adjust MOA for Center impact.

He is just doing velocity and grouping.

Once you find the right pellet for your gun then you adjust Center of impact.

Sight in for one pellet type doesn't on all f them.

  • i did notice that the groups there were in harsh words .. crap at 20 yards for a .177 was this the gun becuase i've heard putting that much power behind average weight pellets makes them inacurate. i have a 620 fps .22 pcp and at 30 yard im getting one single hole. just wondering about this gun ?

  • This gun( Gamo Hunter 440) is a Spring magnum air rilfe, It harder to shoot a spring magnum then a pcp gun. If you know the shooting difference.

Then you get to supersonic you go through a transonic stage which destabilizing the pellet.

  • hmm... i'm kinda disturbed by that large spread of velocities through so many of those pellets. i know you said somewhere in your website in a written review, that chronograph can get different velocity readings depending on where the pellet appears on the skyscreens. maybe that explains it, but especially with those Crosman HP's, i would check my piston seal with that spread. a spread of near 100 fps disturbs me. was there something wrong with the piston seal at the time of this review?

  • not that I know of.. I could have had dud pellet. Every once in a while that happens.

    Rick

  • you know, it would be really great if RWS could make some more models of those Hypermax pellets. they look like decent pellets besides the fact that they're feather lite. they need to make some heavier ones. it would be great to try something like those JSB heavies, with the skirt design. would make em reasonably accurate i bet.

  • Hey just wondering, i'm going to buy the gamo 440 soon, does yours fire .177 and .22 cals? Thanks, plus I notice you reply to a lot to the comments, a pain in the ass i'm sure, but thats dedication, respect!

  • Mine is only .177 cal...

thanks for noticing about the comments.. It takes a few hours a day to keep up with it... part of what makes for a good youtube channel!

    Rick

  • Is this a break thinggy? So spring only?

    Or gas?

  • ???? It is a break barrel spring rifle... does that help?

    Rick

  • which of the synthetics or lead free pellets would you reccomend

  • the heavier the better.

    Rick

  • problem with raptors is that there so damn expensive!

  • yes they are... I've found some new pellets for the rifle recently. Try the Crosman Pointed Hunting Pellets.. they are cheap and shoot very well in many different guns.

    Rick

  • hey,i love those pellets too..they get better groups than the crosman premier`s,(the pointed pelles get about 1" groups at 25 yards..and can go through 6magazines,maybe more..the premier`s got 1 1/2" groups at 25 yards and went through 4 magazines and the pellet was broken into lots of pieces.)i shot a squirrel from 30 yards with my storm xt,i was using premier pellets and i hit the shoulder blade which stop the pellets penetration basically,i did get the squirrel, but if i used pointed pellets..

  • thanks for your vids

  • You are very welcome!

    Rick

  • Hi i am going to buy a airgun but i have to choose betwin cal 177 velocty 1250 fps or cal 22 velocity 1000 fps. what do yo recomend???

  • .22.. it will hold accuracy and energy longer than a .177.

    rick

  • i wish BAM still made those 100% lead pellets :(

  • Hey thanks for this video. It was very informative and will help me avoid wasting money on crappy pellets. I just had a question: I own the GAMO hunter sport, 1000 fps, 1200 with pba, would you say it is similar to the 440 in quality? Did you review it by any chance? Thanks

  • should be very similar.. I think the PBA in my rifle was a fluke.. I've found only a very few rifles that shot the PBA well.

    Rick

  • Yea those Silver Eagles arn't really for super distance shots, but boy are they quick, Also noticed with the SE's, that the rear flange isn't always a perfect circle. it can be lop sided quite a bit what ever they coat that pellet with.. it sucks.

Have you tried Crow magnums and Kodiaks? They tend to stay true down the line over any other heavy weight pellet i've tried.

Thanks for the review. nice to see some un-biased reviews on youtube for a change.

    Should get some Shoot-n-See targets.

  • Thanks for the tips.. I've started using the shoot-n-see targets.. Love them.. I'll try some heavier pellets one of these days..

    Rick

  • i am just starting with pellet guns i want to know the most cheap but most fast and the most acurate

  • A good starter rifle would be the Gamo Big Cat. If you can swing the extra for the gas ram (available from PyramydAir) you'll be in great shape.

    Rick

  • hey man i tryed to buy the gamo big cat but they sed i need a gun license wtf ???? is that true??

  • where do you live?

    Rick

  • canada

  • yep.. you will need a permit.

    Rick

  • So how fast were those Gamo PBA pellets?

  • probably at or just over 1100 fps.

    Rick

  • what do you think about using desoyer pellets

  • I can run some through the gun and see.. this gun still shoots pretty well.. it looks a bit worse for wear, but still a nice gun.

    Rick

  • the raptors are great they work awsome in my g1 but they cost like 10$ a batch and there not to good for ur gun

  • I am going to buy a Gamo Hunter Sport in the next week or so and I was wondering if you have ever put one of those through a chronograph. I am curious about the average velocity and the max velocity, also I have heard mixed thoughts on the scope what have you heard and/or experienced?

  • Not tested one yet... but most of Gamo's 1000 fps guns are about the same.

    Rick

  • hey thanks for this video man great job, this really helps when it comes to selecting the right pellets

  • Glad I could help!

    Rick

  • have yu ever had a beeman? cause im geting one this week and im just wondering if its a good gun ornot its the ss1000 i think duel caliber pelletgun .22and.177

  • Beeman used to be "the" name in airguns... not anymore. For the most part.. you get what you pay for and in the case of Wal-Mart airguns, what you've paid for often is worth getting. Your better off starting with something like the Gamo Big Cat. It costs just a little more, but it is a much nicer gun.

    Rick

  • Could you please do a review on Hatsan 125 4.5mm or 5.5mm ..... There is no good reviews on youtube... The rifle seems to be very accurate and can challlenge any other air rifle.

Thank You, Your big fan SlovakianBoy

  • I'll be out of town for a while.. I'll see what I can do when I get back.

    Rick

  • what's your favorite calibre, .177 or .22?

  • .22 for sure.

    Rick

  • how come the 22? whats the main reason? just the weight advantage? or accuracy? maybe both? does it cost more for a 22? i was lookin into the crosman storm for accuracy shooting. whats ur opinion on that?

  • the extra weight of the .22 pellets help it deliver more energy on the target and travel further with greater accuracy. You are rolling the dice on any crosman gun... Rather look into the TechForce 89 Contender or a higher end Beeman rifle.

    Rick.

  • so i should get other ones than crosman pretty much? i kinda have a budget tho of like 150. i no its not much, but i want a rifle that is in the high power range and more for accuracy. any other suggestions besides the ones already mentioned?

  • You can look at the mendoza or the Avenger from PyramydAir.

    Rick

  • great vids....ive got the hunter 440 to. Can you tell me how you shoot 5 times in a row? Is this video editing?

  • yep.. I took out all the dead air..

    Rick

  • im in the uk.. and i would bother with a gamo rifle unless i wanted something for pest control arround the home.. check my vids rick if you want to see some proper airguns

  • maybe one day I'll get some "proper airguns." for now I'll be very happy to review what my vendors and manufacturers graciously provide me for review items.

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • you do a good job aswell reviewing them mate, i know these vids take time.. its a shame you couldnt get hold of a brummie made webley longbow or a tx200hc or something on those lines! have you had a tuned springer before? if not you'd understand what im saying straight away.. you never look at gamo again mate! at

  • One day i hope to have a TX... I've got some reviews backed up and I'm pretty sure that Pyramyd will cut one loose for me to review.... I hope..;)

    Rick

  • the accuracy of this gun isnt that great, i understand that gamo's are a budget gun, i live in england and have a 12 ftlb limit, my hw97k .177 can put all shots through same whole but costs £400 with nikkostirling 3x9x40, how much is the gamo

  • I agree on the accuracy... and you are right.. generally you get what you pay for. Most folks are ok with .5" groups at 20 yards for $200 with a scope. I hope to get a really accurate, 1 hole, spring gun one day.. but I've been pretty happy with most of the Gamo line so far.

    Rick

  • rick i like what your doing mate, top marks to you.. but you need to focus on accuracy first and work from there! power and fps are nothing without it! i would be getting 1 holers (pellet on pellet) at that range with my springers very easily mate!

  • That's great.. Seeing as I don't have the funds to purchase the kind of guns that you're talking about... send one over and I'll review it!

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • My comment ?

Buy yourself a quality rifle llike a HW - Diana - Air Arms - Daystate - Theoben .

If you want real accuratie , 1 inch groups at 100 yards is possible .

With a quality air rifle and JSB Exact , or H&N Baracuda pellets .

  • All great rifles... just out of my price range. Maybe one day!

    Rick

  • very nice video you made here. do you have any experience with the beeman 1073 series rifle?

  • Thanks for the comments.. As for the 1073.. not yet.

    Rick

  • can you review a airforce condor rifle? I would like to get one but priced very high. Just dont know if its worth it. I do have a gamo whisper 1000/1250. Just dont know witch is better. Thanks

  • I have not personally tested one.. from what I hear.. they are well worth it. Take a look at pyramyd air's video reviews on their site.. Paul Capella has done a review or two on that rifle.. From what I hear he is better at these reviews than me.

    Rick

  • but your more honest and look more normal capella scares me a lil

  • Thanks for your comments. That means a lot to me. I've talked with Paul on several occasions and I respect his ability to put out a "ready for prime time" video. Sometimes he does sound a bit like an infomercial. On the other hand, he is trying to make a living doing the reviews so I can't really fault him for talking a lot about his sponsors.

I'm going to try and stick to being the "consumer reports" version.. plain English, unbiased, etc.

    Thanks again.

    Rick

  • I have read people on his reviews say that you're better than him. not that it is a competition, right?

  • thanks.. I wish the best for Paul.

    Rick

  • Excellent job. I have a gamo hunter 890s w/ 3-12X50mm scope. And yes the crossman premier hollowpoints are absolutely the best pellet and are available at walmart.

  • Thanks.

    Rick

  • i really appreciate your work. is there any way you could do one with a ruger air hawk. i have the gun and neeed to find out what would be the best pellet for it. thanks connor

  • Hey there.

Thanks for your comments.. I'm convinced that I need to review the Ruger.. I'll get it in the cue.

    Thanks

    Rick

  • hey, im looking to buy a gamo whisper vh, do you by any chance have one to do a review on. Also would it be possible for you to do a penetration test on a thick book like a phone book and see how many pages you go through. thanks, Tom.

  • I can work on the phone book thing... I've done a little testing and the Whisper does well. It is not what I'd call a "magnum" springer, but it is VERY accurate. I'll take accuracy over a little more power just about any day.

    Rick

  • did U have to load pellet every single shot?Im just curious^^

  • Yep.. I edit the dead air out to spare you all the silence....

    Rick

  • how did you mesure velosity?

  • I have a Chronograph... They go for as little at $70 and they are a great help.

    Rick

  • what is the difference between the rws hobby, club 10 and diablo basic? they are all 7 gr and about the same price

  • maybe nothing... there are many pellets that get a different label put on them. Beeman is famous for that.

    Rick

  • The one im lookin at gettin is in .22 by the way.

  • If you can get it in .22... great. I did not know they had the hunter 440 in .22.

    Rick

  • im not sure if its 440? but its a Gamo Hunter anyway, looks like the one in the video. Thanks for your replys!

  • Gamo has several .22 rifles coming out.. I'm glad to see it frankly.

    Rick

  • if you havent found out already raptors have by faaar! the worst penatration of any pelet so dont hunt with them but there great target pellets

  • I don't particularly care for them generally.. They are expensive and tend to be inaccurate... just dumb luck they worked well in the hunter 440.

    Rick

  • also wats the most accurate .177 pellet that you know of

  • I like the crosman premier hollow points and some of the RWS pellets... as for the "most accurate" that is impossible to answer.

    Cheers.

    Rick

p.s JSB is very good to.

  • Great Video, just wondering.. im lookin at buying his rifle for small bird pest control. Seein as thought u seem to know this rifle pretty damn well. what are your thoughts on this, what range would i be able to accurately hit and kill a small bird at?

  • very small game out to 90 yards if you can hit your target.

    Rick

  • i love this but. i dont understand the use of pellet guns... i can see the us of airsoft guns and real guns but you cant shoot pellet guns at humans and its probally not effective agaisnt anything bigger then a rabbit

  • A lot of people just enjoy shooting for the sport of it.. I certainly don't get cricket... but a lot of people do. Pellet guns let folks like me enjoy the sport for less money and right at home. I've found that I like shooting my pellet guns more than my real guns.

    Rick

  • true i personally have a pellet gun but im asking my grandpa for a rifle for my b-day so i can go hunting with me. pellet guns are fun, just not as diverse as a real gun or a airsoft/paintball gun.

  • I thought the same thing until I started researching the sport. Did you know that Lewis and Clark carried a pre-charged pneumatic pellet gun with them? Did you know that some armies used pellet guns like assault rifles way, way back..? Did you know they make a .50 cal pellet rifle for hunting large game..? There is a lot more to airguns than what you see at wal-mart!

    Rick

  • hummmmm

  • i wanna see you test the new hunter extreme from gamo i would like to seee if it can hit that 1600 fps mark

  • I have one in for testing.. It fell apart after about 200 rounds.. the gun is so violent that it sheared off the scope stop pin and dropped the pin done in the action of the gun. Also, velocity had dropped to just slightly better than my hunter 440. I'm sending it back to Gamo for repair.

    Rick

  • great informitive video! thank you!

  • You are very welcome!

    Rick

  • informative video, well edited too. Im not interested in hunting, or air rifles really, but i still enjoyed it.

    good work

  • Thank you very much!

    Rick

  • yo is the crossman pumpmaster760 any good with flat nose pellets?

  • I believe most wadcutter pellets should be a pretty good fit for that rifle.

    Rick

  • i just ordered my benjamin super streak and i just wanted to know how you think this compares to it

  • the super streak is a big heavy monster of a rifle. It shoots very fast... unfortunately it also tends to shoot all over the place. I only found one pellet that worked well in that rifle and it was the H&N Field Target Trophy (NOT THE SPECIALS). Good luck finding them... :(

If you get a good one, you may be able to get it to settle down after a long break in period. Expect 1450FPS with lead free pellets and 900's with heavy pellets.

    Good Luck

    Rick

  • nice but i think i would go with the cross man led pellets i have them and they are perfect

  • Each gun is different.. Use what works best!

    Rick

  • Great videos Rick keep up the good work :)

  • Thanks!

    Will do.

    Rick

  • hello.how u think about .177 cal. crosman hollow point pellets???

  • They are some of my favorite pellets in .177 and .22.

    Rick

  • nice video, very informative

  • Thanks!

    Rick
