@geckoremmington Ok you seriously can't judge us by what our tv programs are like, because yeah; most of the shows are intended to patronise the population, I doubt you've seen enough to actually give a fair opinion on the subject, and there are certainly many stereotypes I could begin thowing out about Brits, so why don't you come to america before you grant yourself the power to judge it ok?
naww, when she says that bit about people yelling her name and her thinking that she's everyone's favourite person- I don't think she realises that she actually IS some people's favourite person. . . that make sense? haha.
She's so modest though, and doesn't exactly realise that her work is good. well, great, really.
Catherine Tate's great. The interviewer confused her. Dearth means a lack of or a famine. Catherine was pretty nice not to embarrass her by telling her what dearth actually means.
people have different tastes in comedy, some want to expect the 'am i bovvered' catchphrase, because depending on the timing and scene set, its very funny, but yes, if its all in the same set with same catchphrase it does get boring. you cant say she is talentless, Catherine is brilliant in straight acting aswell in comedy, she has many fans from her show. its mainly a matter of oppinion but be careful to not sound so offensive, theres no need for it
the following i mean nothing by -just apparent fact- so deduce from it what you will but i think women are alot more taken by tate than men. i'm male, and henseforth find Pearl Harbour funny.
yeah it does seem true that women laugh at women more than men. little britain is just like the catherine tate show, but i dont laugh at it, but im in stitches watching catherine's show. hhmmmm... never thought about that before. pearl harbour is quite funny too
I'm a man and I think Catherine Tate is close to a god. I am stunned by her ideas and delivery. The way she gets into a character is the same as any great actor, only it's comedy so better. This "men don't get women comics" is so lame. Doesn't apply to any of my male friends (Americans too). We all love her.
hmmm american humour differs from my own even more so. Every joke is explained to amoeba level to cater for your jarhead flaglicking species. They air yankee-humo(u)r here in the mornings not so much for time difference, but so the hungover british have something simple to chew on alongside the tweenies.
also, canned laughter is there to instruct those lesser than amoebas where to laugh.
I couldn't agree with you more, geckoremmington. Our TV comedies are indeed infantile and dull. But there is a huge market for British comedy here, so please don't judge us all by what US networks are farting out.
If American comedy is so dumb and simpleminded then why the fuck do all the Brits I know endlessly rave about American comedies, like Sinefeld? They seem to like that stuff much more than I do. Maybe it's just a coincidence these particular Brits are all as dumb as yanks and the rest are bright lads, like youself???
Ouch and rats! I guess Lauren could only run so long - I'd like to have heard she had a nicer going away, though. It's kind of like losing a friend don't you think?
I've only recently come upon Ms. Tate's work. I, of course, don't know her, but I've come to be fond of the Lauren. I think there's a little bit of Lauren in, if not all, some of us and I surely hope there's more than a bit of Catherine in Lauren. Thanks for the BAFTA post, it's good to see the real person.
thanks for the very nice reply. too many people post harsh comments which are then deleted. glad you liked this vid, but i did not make this and dont own this, all credit goes to ITN source. if you have read news about the Lauren character, she is getting killed off by George Micheal in the chrismas special
No there is absolutely no need for bad comments. I have seen Catherine in a few interviews and she seems like a very nice person and she has a great sense of humour. Very talented person. Thanks for the video.

Catherine Tate is brilliant. I loved her in Doctor Who as well and was disappointed that she only did one series of it.

Well at least she's honest. I think her response was much better than "Oh it's just nice to be nominated." because that's a blatant lie :)

hmmm, try something original.
the comedy soup bowl is massively overflowing with this formulaic bs.
tate is a talentless, typewriter-monkey, chip off the old repetitive catchphrase, funny if your 5, sea cow!
she lost because some people have brains
and some of them have TVs!
